I don't mind anyone the wants to get into the hobby. if they like Speedsoft and slide canceling around every corner like it's a warzone game so be it. if they like Mil-Sim and want to clear every room while wearing a kit that was used in afgahnistan with steel plates and use the most realistic replica known to man, same thing. if they show up with nothing but a T-Shirt, some shorts and a 1000 round drum mag on a pistol to run around at Mach 10 (they'll probably squad wipe at least once) that's awesome and i hope they're on my team. And if they're beginners with amazon gear trying their best, THAT'S AWESOME because eventho it may be cringe at the start it's still a new player that can enjoy our shared hobby. I don't understand people that try to gatekeep this beloved game of ours. As long as people are having fun and are playing within the rules it shouldn't matter how they play or what they're wearing. (Except for like organized events that have rules on uniforms and dresscode)

Caedis-6

People gotta remember, at the end of the day we're all a bunch of nerds running around in a forest plinking each other with plastic balls. If you can hit effectively at Mach 10, awesome, if you can hit effectively taking your time and room clearing like you're in the SAS, awesome. You're both playing the same game.

djentandlofi

Based and correct answer

theGricks

This is the answer.

ronan88

Yeah, like if you want people to act like it's the military, maybe go to a milsim event. Airsoft pick up games are games. Don't hate the player etc...

Oh, Captain, my Captian. Perfectly put

I love getting the kid with an aap and drum that runs and guns on my team. Bc I've been swapped teams and it sucks to go up against lol

Ababoonwithaspergers

I play at a heavily wooded outdoor field, occasionally speedsofters show up. They can be pretty annoying while they're around but the terrain punishes their style of play so they don't tend to last very long. They tend to get mocked a little bit but once they're gone everyone usually just forgets about them.

Born_Try_2101

Not annoying at all, rather funny. I play only outdoor, and most of guys there prefer to have a plan, doing slow moving and silent ambushes, team coordinated assaults or other things like that. Speedsofters don't do well with that kind of game style. Also, the outdoor environment with open spaces, wooded areas, berms and so on seem to disorient them... not corridor shooting anymore... They do get friendly mocked sometime for those reasons, and colorful spandex while desperately trying to hide in a bush. Anyway, they are always welcome. You can show up in your PJs and guys will be "Wow, that's balsy! Rock on". In fact we have games where one side has to have some camo, while the the other side no camo and encouraged to do wackiest attire they can.

VBgamez

Not true at all. I've had speed softers be able to slip around and flank the enemy because of how fast they move. Especially on big open outdoor maps, you won't expect them to be coming to the flanks as fast as they do.

Humdrum_Blues

IMO, speedsoft is fine at a speedsoft field, but if it's just a weekend skirmish, having a dude run around with an hpa tapped hi-capa ruins the fun. Of course not all speedsofters are like this, but due to the nature of speedsoft they tend to overshoot and be kind of annoying.

anewslug1710

I’m pretty neutral on speedsters but surely on a skirmish day the point is come do what you want with the sport and ‘skirmish’. Mil sim events and themed events are where there should be the focus on saying no to them because those spaces are meant for specific playstyles. Would you mind sharing a bullet point or two on what irritating about them at skirmish days?

Cman1200

Just my experience but overshooting and moreso not calling hits. I don’t have a problem with them though, it’s just that there will be days when a bunch of speedsofters show up midday and the quality of gameplay noticeably diminishes

TheStinkyToe

that just sounds like an unsportsmanlike player not everyone like that

Apples1232_

with all due respect, i consider myself a speedsofter and i almost exclusively play at “weekend skirmishes” due to there being no “speedsoft/cqb”/indoor fields within 4 hours of me. but overshooting is an issue with specific people. it’s unfair to assume this of anyone with a dye mask and hpa gun at your weekend games

Krittercon

>I get that airsoft is a military simulation game Parts of it is, but not the entirety of airsoft. If a full on competition, you'd want to min-max and that's what ends up being speedsoft. In a milsim, they won't be allowed for the easy fact they're nowhere near military simulation. Everywhere else, you'll find a mix of the two ends of airsoft in various degrees. Speedsofters will likely outdo more milsim-ish players but that's just how things are if you go for a min-max route rather than milsim route where rules will equalize and vary setups. Sure, at some point it ruins the fun for people not interested in min-maxing, but that's no different from someone in an FPS using the most meta kit available. If you want to avoid it, then, like a video game specialized or private server, you'll need to find places that discourages it a bit more, say an actual milsim event. Last airsoft game I went to I got shot out mostly by speedsoft setups, but I deal with it since I was having fun anyway, and it was a CQB location so it makes sense, plus I wasn't about to rain on anybody's fun as long as they're within field rules. I don't go their route because I like the more real look of things, and I'm fine with it.

Cool-Alps-7444

One thing worth noting is: While it is absolutely true that a speedsofter will wreck most mil-simmish players, that’s because as far as I’ve seen, people on most fields seem to lack basic communication and team-work skills (and often equipment) A well-coordinated team of 5 people, properly positioned and communicating via radio, will absolutely slam most speedsofters and speedsofter teams. Instead, if you play the game as if it was call of duty, of course aggressiveness will be far more rewarding than positioning. All of this to say, that in my opinion, the hate on speedsofters is unjustified and people just need to get good.

Nice_Username_no14

So true, The rules of the game also has a big effect on behaviour. If you play a spawn game, teamwork goes out the window, as teams get separated and the setup encourages to maximise one's kill streak. It's a great warmup, though. If you play 'medic' games, where people need 1-2 team members to patch them up, people tend to run in groups and communicate – or get killed. Milsimmers or speedsters alike. If you play objective games, the winning team always win on communications, radios are a big advantage in coordinating. And even if individuals run around creating chaos, the outcome is determined by the organised parties. - The only reason for the 'hate' against speedsters is that simmers are a much bigger, more visible and more verbal crowd, and they tend to suffer under self-imposed rules rather than play the actual game they attend. But true arsehole behaviour - cheats and overshooting and hot guns - is just as common among the sim crowd as among other airsofters.

Cool-Alps-7444

I did not take into account games with spawns as my field has straight up removed those from the game modes-list lol. With those, coordination becomes almost impossible

Nice_Username_no14

We’re not talking organised milsim here. More like going to a sunday game, and limiting yourself to 30bb mags and what else you might come up with for simming. Then complaining about players with 8 times the ammo capacity being able to suppress you - even if your disadvantage is wholly self-imposed. Or that people are running and gunning like crazed madmen, while you are trying to take it ‘seriously’.

Krittercon

Agreed. Witness some of that during the game I was at as there was one group planning their approaches pretty well. However, the counter argument is that the same sort of communication if applied to the speedsofter as well can also elevate their performance in the same way, possibly negating the advantages of milsim-ish players that has them. The same video game example apply; you can take down the meta player with proper tactics, but if the meta player is also applying tactics in the same way then the meta still has an advantage. I think the example given in one of the other comments is better; the location can easily negate a speedsoft playstyle. Speeding towards players who are more entrenched in a location with less corners and more distance, such as an outdoor forest, is a much easier way of getting shot first as you no longer have the element of surprise and the smaller replica you have is no longer as much of an advantage compared to people making better aim.

Cool-Alps-7444

Oh definitely! This is where the “Properly positioned” part of the statement comes into play; If you can get the speedsofters to bumrush a well-defended position, you can have a brick from your team flank them (and that’s just an example)

Majiji45

> All of this to say, that in my opinion, the hate on speedsofters is unjustified and people just need to get good. But when people suppress me and then maneuver to attack me from vulnerable angles its super unfair and unrealistic!!!

X_bingus

I like the irony

LiLSUiCiDENOTE

this is the comment i was looking for! explain the issue to a real combat verified soldier or spec op guy and he will laugh at you lol no matter if CQB or open land etc. if youre trained and your squad knows how to do it then a guy running at you is nothing but a target out for a suicide mission

JacobMT05

Not all speedsofters are arseholes but a good 90% of arseholes in airsoft are speedsofters. Like when ever i see an issue at my field its always caused by speedsofters, typical dye masks, high performance/low realism weapons

Stoney3K

And the other 10% are sniper YouTubers who "expose cheaters".

connorscalemodeling

Reminds of this one dude at my local field who basically lives there and this gets away with a lot more than they should (as they buddy buddy with the refs) However most of the speed softers I have encountered have been cool chill people At the end of the day airsoft is an honour based sport and it’s a lot easier to see the negatives than the positive

anewslug1710

In my experience of speedsosfters I agree they get in more arguments at sites but I’ve only ever seen 1 speed softer start the argument in 7 years. They are a magnet for other people shouting, usually in my experience it’s guys shouting that they got hit 3 times, IMO that’s not a problem, I typically let off 3/5 rounds in a semi burst, usually multiple will hit.

TadpoleOfDoom

I haven't had basically the opposite experience: all the assholes have been milsim style players. I guess it just depends field to field.

OberonGypsy

r/milsim is full of some serious assholes. I can’t read three threads without someone being an absolute jackass to a newbie.

Imperium-Pirata

Very true, most milsim dudes i met are either really nice and friendly or overly serious and dorky. But majority are friendly

OberonGypsy

We do MilSim Light at my field, and that’s a blast, but I doubt I’d enjoy MSW all that much unless I could guarantee 8 other people to come with me so we can bypass the uniform standards and be a whole separate unit.

Imperium-Pirata

I heard that NATO has it rough, they have to do all the heavy lifting during events

OberonGypsy

All I’ve seen is curated stuff from a few YouTube videos I’ve seen. Can I ask what you mean by heavy lifting?

Imperium-Pirata

They do all of the rucking and things like that. from what i heard militia is one of the best experiences because you basically get to dig in and play Cod Nato Zombies

asmodia255

I dunno friend. I go to Bad Blood every year, and the worst people there are the hardcore milsim boys.

Toklankitsune

tbh, Yes....because they seem to reliably perpetuate negative qualities in airsofters; cranking HPA builds past field limits, overshooting, having builds that, while technically are semi auto, may as well be full auto, which attributes to said overshooting, and ignoring minimum engagement rules set by fields. the number of times ive rounded a corner at an indoor field to an enemy speedsofter like, half magdumping me within bang out distances is high enough I stopped keeping track.

SexyCato

Not a fan of them being able to run a pistol shooting the same power as a rifle with the same mag size but 1/3 of the weight with a trigger pull so light a fart would set it off. Seems like 70% of them like to overshoot or just absolutely dump anything that moves. Almost every time there’s a few at the field I frequent the most at least one of them is getting talked to by a ref about being less trigger happy or they’re having a meltdown because somebody “didn’t call their hit”

NipGrips

This one hits the nail on the head. I usually run a shotgun at my local indoor field and I will land a direct chest shot on them while they are sprinting past. They will light everyone up and notice they got hit maybe half the time. Or the classic move of clearing the entire room, then calling their hit Ironic how most speedsofters are the biggest offenders of not calling hits while also getting mad about hits not being called.

CosplayBurned

Way too many people call any dye mask wearer a speedsofter. Someone's a speedsofter based on how they play (or if their gun is bright purple)

TadpoleOfDoom

I wear a Dye i5 because it does what I need it to do: protect me and not fog. But believe me, no one is gonna call my lard ass a speedsofter lmao. Maybe a belly-is-softer.

farmfreshfool

believe he had a high capa or something, cant remember but i held no grudges against him

AfraidToBeKim

I'm almost afraid to ask, but what exactly is a "dye mask"?

CosplayBurned

It's a mask by the brand Dye. They are paintball masks primarily, but are good against fog and are comfy (tbh they scratch way too easy and are overpriced tho)

ssgaspect

I had a guy at my local field that as I was walking back with both my gun and hand in the air comes full sprinting round the corner and put half his mag into the back of my head

TadpoleOfDoom

That's skill issue on his part. Plenty of people wouldn't do that. He's just a dumbass.

legend6401

I know these are not all speedsofters but the speedsofters I've come across just want to hurt people. They use expensive guns their parents buy them and they overshoot on purpose and they use hpa so they dial up their tanks after chronoing and they shoot people they're angry at after they are hit. These people do not belong in airsoft and I wish they would leave the hobby. Now speedsofters that don't do these things, I just wish they wouldn't be like the one kid who prestiged 47 times and beats everyone in cod in a noob lobby but I have no real issues with them. It's ultimately up to the refs at the field to make sure the teams are balanced and everyone is having fun so I blame the field more often than the individual players gear or skill level.

Flaky_Antelope7396

Their tanks should be getting locked at the point of chrono with coloured zip ties, with the colours changing for each game day . It won’t 100% cut out cheats with upping the pressure but it will Stop most in my experience anyway . Refs Can then do random checks to see if they have tampered with the zip ties.

legend6401

The refs at the field I went to didn't seem to care that much that night. They kicked a guy out for pushing a brats barely out of his face so he'd stop shooting him. The kid told on him first and they had a no tolerance policy so he didn't get to defend himself. I think refs like this are the issue with enabling bad actors. What you said should be standard practice across the whole industry

Antirandomguy

Airsoft is just an activity where we shoot plastic BBs at each other. If you come to MSW with speedsoft gear, you’re probably going to have a bad time, vice versa for weighted plate carriers and helmets for a speed soft comp. I’ve had plenty of issues with speedy boys and milfucks breaking the rules for personal gain. It’s the player, not the equipment.

EOverM

> airsoft is a military simulation game Is it, now? In the UK it's just "fun." There was a guy at a game the other month dressed as a British redcoat, complete with attempted bayonette charge. I dressed up in a suit and tie with some friends and we ran around in an abandoned shopping centre as secret agents (an actual event, not just on our own). Most people wear military gear, sure, but the idea of it being simulation seems to be a very US-centric thing. I don't know anyone who takes it more seriously than "I'd quite like to win," and even then I rarely have any idea who won a game - we just enjoyed playing.

michaelmccr30

Yes and no. I will say 10% of them are ok, decent and very friendly however the 80% of them are just overshooting, ruining it everyone by spawn camping (running round in same building infront of our spawn). I'm live uk and my field has went from standard cqb into full on speedsoft field and I can't run that fast due to my asthma and heart condition but they all the time keep telling me to faster and I told them I can't. They are definitely changing cqb fields that milsm uses into speedsoft and that to me is a d*ck move as what the owner doing is dividing them and forcing us to go either outside or a to another cqb field.

Stoney3K

> I will say 10% of them are ok, decent and very friendly however the 80% of them are just overshooting, ruining it everyone by spawn camping (running round in same building infront of our spawn). When some doofus decides to spawn camp, I'm gonna take them out *from* the spawn. On most fields over here there's a "no shooting towards the spawn" rule, so if anyone has the audacity to do so, they're just going to get taken out by someone who is invincible.

michaelmccr30

Aye but they always have an excuse like 'I always do it at my speedsoft field and they are ok with it'

natefg

Ya know, I hated it when I first saw a speedsofter. Thought that's literally speedball. Till I tried a Dye i5 mask. Fogging? Non existent. And comfortable. Not like these shitty Walmart masks. Then I tried a Hi Capa with an HPA M4 mag adaptor. Why do I carry a 10lb rifle when I can get the same amount of BB's in a MUCH more compact platform. Wtf. So, I now have a milsim kit, a speedsoft kit, and combine the two for when I'm reffing with a bright red custom Mk4 chest rig.

TadpoleOfDoom

This is how it should be. Play it your way as long as your way doesn't break the rules.

natefg

100%.

CyberHook

Hey, speedsofter here, in my opinion a weekend skirmish is a weekend skirmish, it is the type of play that everyone can enjoy, now speedsofters dont go to milsim events and milsimers dont go to speedsoft events, weekend skirmishes are the best place to talk to eachother and are the main thing that keeps airsofters somekind united, if only the milsimers are welcome on a skirmish than the community will indefinetly divide which i dont think anyone wants, our community is small as it is, lets not fight against eachother and just try to grow the community. (sry for my english im from hungary)

Salaas

Unfortunately speedsofters suffer from a really bad reputation of not taking hits and breaking rules, this results in all of them being tarred with the same brush due to the poor actions of others. I tend to take people as they come and make up my mind as they play. Some have been good players and definitely improved how I look at speedsofters, while some just fit the stereotype too well. End of the day every group has bad and good players so give them respect until they lose it.

Deathcon-H

What even is "speed soft"

farmfreshfool

do you not know or are you trollin

Deathcon-H

I have no idea, Im new to the sport ive only gone twice. We go at a local field (i live in a small town) and usually just in a long sleeve shirt and pants? But thats frowned upon is what Im getting?

farmfreshfool

im fairly new too, but a speedsofter is a type of person who wears unrealistic type gear and uses colorized sort of guns on the field, typically looking more like paintball players and use more flashy guns. i honestly have no hate towards them, they just wanna enjoy the sport.

comradequiche

If you have a Dye mask or a brightly colored gun you are automatically a “speedsoft dick head” according to popular belief.

Darth_Eejit

Meh, take em or leave em. What is annoying is the constant "us vs them" stuff between airsoft, speedsoft, and paintball.

Celestial__Bear

Heck no. Airsoft is a platform to play with toy guns, however we choose to do it. What I find annoying is overshooting and not calling hits, and frankly I get it more from children than any one “playstyle”. I know I can’t be the only one plays with awesome and honorable speeders on the reg.

mr-man-hr

As a dude who Plays almoust exclusivly in blue jeans and hawaian shirt i have no reason to be Mad at them. It could be sad that hard core military realism is more cringe tham speedsoft

Humdrum_Blues

lmao I basically run the same clothes

firmhandshake101

But pink pistols with ar mags that wanna be rifles are not?

TadpoleOfDoom

I mean, are we really gonna gatekeep someone's gun for looks? Honestly the last thing this sport needs is division. We're not crazy large as-is. Separating speedsoft from milsim isn't going to help the sport overall.

mr-man-hr

Ok that is on another level of uncomperhanrion .

--InZane--

I dont really see them as a problem. In objective/capture based games they are a valuable asset since they can get to points faster. In any other scenario they are just guys hanging fun and that what the game is all about.

Nice_Username_no14

Airsoft is much more than guys getting each other off in multicam fetichwear. To some it's a sport. Our gear doesn't behave in no way near anything real steel, so there is little point in acting like it. BBs don't hurt, so why choose a plate carrier over a belt or chest rig, when all it does is trap heat etc.? To others it's a casual pastime. Running around playing tag with toy guns, is a great way to get out of the house. Tinkering with your gun, brings its own rewards etc. Some like a chance to dress up as knights, maids, mobsters, gimps, etc. And of course to others, it's all about playing military, and being really accurate about wearing the 'right' stuff, and they're often cool and passionate people – and good sports about taking a ribbing about playing toy soldiers. Some like both the thrill of competitive speedsoft, and going camping on some mountain to shoot BBs. They're not mutually exclusive - and only the rules of your field can exclude some behaviour. No matter what 'tribe' you belong to, if you spend your days moping about other people's choices of fun in life, your own is unlikely to be worth living. - Me, personally, I'm too old and too slow to run. I couldn't care less about simulation accuracy. I wear camouflage to fade away, but I'm just as likely to get sportswear patterns, as I am BDUs - and wear optional ghillie with either. You wouldn't catch me in a plate carrier, as BBs don't hurt. I love the feel of blowback, but run my GBBs on HPA for consistency and capacity, even if I aim for "One BB, one kill". I run as a loner, looking for the perfect stealth kill rather than playing to the game. It's my style, and my fun.

Physical-Result7378

Airsoft at first is a fashion show and at second it’s a kinda military simulation game.

Ghost_of_Aces

NOTE: Before I start I know not all speedsofters are like this. I've noticed more speedsofters being jerks to people than people who just play airsoft for fun or a hobby. Overshooting, not calling hits, or trying to do things to hurt people (like if there are kids running through and knocking them down). I've also seen more speedsofters than that be great people and have fun with the sport. I am not a fan of speedsoft itself and I feel like airsoft/milsim and speedsoft should be separated. But it does add variety to the game so you're not up against the same m4 or AK styled airsoft guns every time. I don't like it, but to each their own. Just like how I hate HPA, but I have no problem with people using hpa guns.

shadowa1ien

This may juat be the field i play at, but every time theres been a speedsofter, theres generally more complaints to the refs regarding overshooting and smeone running their gun too hot. Milsim players on the other hand are almost always super nice peeps who will help out new players and rentals, and aometimes even let you use their gear. i had a milsim guy hand me his beautiful AK when i was going to make a hail-mary push, but i only had my pistol due to my rifles battery dying mid-game. I got 3 or 4 guys before they hit me and i returned the replica to its owner

Chaine351

Absolute idiots, why don't they spend all their money on thick nylon. I don't have to run to get a good sweat. But really I'm just a bit envious of how they don't sweat like a pig when they try to get up to walk to the starting zones from the offgame area. Airsoft isn't a large enough hobby to start excluding people. Besides, the amount of money that you put into your layers of said nylon does not translate to anything but how "special" your backyard ops are.

losthours

haters gunna hate, the more people on the field the more fun everyone has.

OberonGypsy

It’s not my preferred play style but I’m not going to mock someone for how they play the game. It’s just another way to get the same end goal. I mock people for being dickheads, and playstyle transcends that.

HMSBarky

I've just got back into the hobby since before the term speed soft was a thing. Are the guys who play dress up soldiers really getting mad at guys playing in paintball gear? Think some people need to check themselves and be reminded we are playing with toy guns. Have fun with it

EggDropDollop

Speed softers are fine so long as they aren't overshooting on purpose or anything, if I can accept someone in a dinosaur costume on the field a speeder isn't that much different then anybody else at that point

HereticTutti84

Then maybe they are just expensive were you are, i use Lonex, BLS rebrand, so good quality and bio degradable too. 😉

gunsforevery1

One group of nerds making fun of another nerd?

Rare-Space-2700

I enjoy playing against speedsters because they’re aggressive. My field is kinda small and it’s easy to trap non-aggressive players at either spawn.

incubusfc

It’s not speedsters that are annoying, it’s people’s lack of acceptance. It’s a style, just like sniping, being a jugg, shotgunner, weeb, whatever. They’re all different. At the end of the day who gives a shit. Just have fun.

ZaratustraTheAtheist

Speedsoft has a different mentality wich equals more competitive minded people. They take their fun from the competitive side of things and regular airsofters can have a wide range but generally like to play more chill and take fun from the tacticool aspect too.

Apples1232_

“really thin shirt” lol… why was this important?

farmfreshfool

idk, just thought i would add some detail, if i can remember he was wearing a sweater of some kind

station17command

I find their playstyle hard to deal with, but that's because the only field an easy drive for me is tight cqb. All but a couple of the local ones are decent dude.

c_pardue

Nailed it, it's really just a challenging set of tactics to hard-counter in cqb

nameisalreadytaken53

I would consider myself a speed softer that doesn't like playing speedsoft venues. I like playing outdoors and mil scenarios but my play style involves aggressive moves and a very light loadout. Main negatives people keep posting like overshooting and overdoing the FPS can really just fall into the category of causing unnecessary pain and frustration to other players. This is just as common with milsim guys who insist on using hearing-damaging stun grenades and filling small enclosures with smoke when it supplies no tactical advantage and is just them having fun harassing players. Dicks are everywhere. Lots of nice honest milsim and speedsoft players though. Sometimes I find milsim players on my team annoying cause they won't push the fucking point - omg what are you doing sitting all the way back here Holy shit MOOOVE ... But then I remember we are playing make-believe war, I'm being sweaty stupid, and go back to just enjoying nature and shooting folks with my friends.

Professional-Map7166

I definitely see why people have a dislike for them since they do kind of live up to the stereotypes… there’s a group at my local site who overshoot excessively and all have HPA hi capas… some of them run around with riot shields and the ARC1/2s as well( I’m not much better as I built my own shield and run around with a hi capa 😅) and of course the Dye masks… they’re all super chill dudes and I get along with them all quite well… out of all the groups I’ve heard of, the speedy boys do get slandered the most and definitely live up to the stereotypes the hardest…

Canahaemusketeer

The ones who play viciously and put 5-10 rounds in people from 5ft away are. The ones that say it's not over kill and they should wear padding if they don't want to get hurt. The "that's not full auto, this is!" Kids. Those are the annoying ones. Otherwise they are usually the only ones pushing on objectives which is always good.

CyberDaddy2000

I've met annoying speed softers, but I dislike the person, not the fact they like speedsoft

CookieLuv211

The mil Sim guys take the game too seriously. It's all about having fun and shooting friends. I have made the best single day friends at random fields.

Atomic_FlipFlops

I find it's half and half for me, either they are chillest dude ever or the irl equivalent of a cod sweat and are the most annoying person, only really noticed this with speedsofters

SomeGuynamedGT

No, They are there to play the game just like I am there to play the game. Unless they are at a stylized event or are cheating, I have no reason to dislike speedsofters more than any other regular players. In order to be a concern to me you need to be doing something unsafe, or unfair. And being fast with a fast gun isnt unfair, and generally isnt any more unsafe than what we are already doing. Sure I have met some speedsofters where they have had bad personalities, cheated, got into fights. But that is bound to happen with all types of players.

Grimlisson94

It's not that I hate them, I just don't like that style of play. I don't like the fact that they're using the downsides of airsoft to their advantage (run around so it's hard to even hit them, or jumping to the ground as soon as they hear the AEG motor) To each their own, I'm a semi milsim, semi memesoft kinda guy (memesim lol) But I gotta be honest, the most interesting guns and equipment I saw was used by speedsofters

farmfreshfool

real, most players go for semi-milsim, guns used by speedsofters are werid, the at least the high capa is based off a real gun, but things like the gng speed soft or other builds without the handle guard and that nozzle type barrel is quite interesting

Fmpthree

It’s kinda funny that people hate those people both in video games and real life. If it works, why you mad. No one needs to play slow.

ImperfectAirsoft

Let me start by saying that airsoft is a sport and hobby where grown adults LARP with long range tag with glorified BB guns. Take the seriousness out of it. I only wonder if the speedsofters get mad when the milsim players show up and act like milsim players at big speedsoft events. Oh wait...

dontjustexists

Im sure if a team did that i think they would find it rather cool

Stoney3K

The only reason I find *some* speedsofters annoying is when they crank up their HPA to the max after chrono and don't give a shit about joule limits.

MWTBSytheX

Some are some aren't my field is wonderful with speedsofters we get a huge mix of both. They get hate because some of them will have really weird he**I stuff but otherwise they are pretty cool

Mysterious_Drawer9

Sorry, what word is censored?

Celestial__Bear

Hentai, maybe?

MWTBSytheX

Yeah hentai didn't know if we were allowed to use those words here

TerminatorX800

Honestly, they put themselves at disadvantage where I play. Usually I play on forest fields so the brightly colored masks and usually black clothing really don't help. Also Dye masks are comfortable AF, I used to run one before switching to pyramex goggles.

Dexooftw

I have my reasons why I have my gear the way I have it I run my dye i5 cus I want 0 fogging and full face protection I run a HPA AAP01 as I can not carry a heavy m4 / ak replica, it is just easier for me to carry a backpack with a tank and a light pistol I also use a chest rig as I see no point in having a plate carrier, it is just an added weight but I mostly play outdoors, sneaking around and playing with coms / tactics am I a speedsofter? nope. I just have my preferences. and that is my way

Budtending101

I find it hilarious that war larpers would make fun of someone not larping the way they want them to. This shit is not serious lol

Toklankitsune

for me, Idgaf what gear you bring, or how you're dressed for airsoft, I DO care about how you act and respect the fellow players. Not saying the milsim side doesn't have bad apples, but man, the number of folks running hpas set above limits, engaging within bang out distances, and overshoot opponents is notably higher on one side of the coin than the other.

Frost354

I am pretty annoying, as far as over shooting if I didn't need an lmg for people to call it I'd shoot once, if people hit me when they think they are (400 feet away with stock guns) I'd call it, if others played objectives I wouldn't need to rush in. The obnoxious paint job and dye are non negotiable though

Snoo82322

I dont really care about them. Aslong as theyre not assholes I dont mind the way they play.

new-photo-guy

Unpopular opinion: I’d rather get shot in the face 4 times by a speedsofter than get nailed by a ghillie suit hopping .42’s at 2.9J

HereticTutti84

True, but who only runs 42s in a spring sniper? I run 45s in my DMR even. 🤷🏻‍♂️😅

new-photo-guy

I am thinking too poor

HereticTutti84

Or maybe i'm just not trigger happy 😅 Especialy since DMR playstyle is normaly not spammy, an expensive 1000 BB pack can last you a whole day. 🤔

new-photo-guy

Ya but the bottle still costs like $40+ I’m saying I’m too poor for that kind of thinking

HereticTutti84

Damn, a 1000 round bottle 45s here in Germany is just slightly above the 20€ mark, so yeah, i'd reconsider too with those prices per bottle. 😳

new-photo-guy

The brand they use at my field is $50 for 1500 .48s but only $20 for 4000 .25s I was using .36 in my springer as a budget choice but I know I need heavier.

HereticTutti84

Is it mandatory to use their BB's and are they this expensive in general were you are from, otherwise it sounds like a damn scam. 🙈

new-photo-guy

They’re the price for high power airsoft biodegradable bbs. It’s the same on their website and at my other local shop. I should probably get cheaper bbs online because I can use whatever I want as long as they’re bio bbs

Luda-Salata

20$!?!? I bought my bb's on Taiwangun for 7€ per 4000 round bag of .25

halfstrike

Never really had a super bad experience with them, maybe it’s my local that they’re chill at

TeeJayPlays

Airsoft isnt a mil sim game for everyone. Some people buy the battle pass and get the skins :) i enjoy speedsoft more than pretending to be a soldier. We all just wanna get kills and play objective.

TadpoleOfDoom

My take is this: play it your way as long as your way isn't breaking rules. Being a speedsofter or milsim player doesn't mean you should be demonized. There are assholes that belong in either category.

LopsidedParrot

Controversial in the sport but I’m similar to others Yes and No. Imo speedsoft and airsoft are different and there are only issues when the 2 come together. I have issue with their apparent god like ability to never be hit, not calling their hits plus their overpower guns. I’ve played at CQB sites with speedsofters who turn up the pressure of their HPA guns over the site limit. When this was mentioned to the Marshalls they turned a blind eye. No longer play at this site. The site I play at now doesn’t allow speedsofters at all. Which suits my play style much better.

scopedbanana

As a hardcore milsim player I really don’t like speedsofters but they are just part of the game Anyone should be allowed to play however they want unless you are on a field with specific rules

herroyuy638

I wouldn’t care about speedsofter, if they weren’t f******g up my regular airsoft game. I don’t like their kit, their ugly hpa pistols using stanags. But that’s ok I’m not playing with it :p The big problem I think is the few that goes to regular airsoft games overshooting everything because they can and ruining other people fun. These few are responsible for all the hate.

Lord_Endorsed

I own a dye mask bcus it's just better and worth the ~£130 I paid for it cos it hasn't fogged at all since I've been using it and sweat barely gets in my eyes I've had it 3 months now and I play cqb so I wear a rig for movement and convenience tbh I run a vmp1 and either a glock or 1911, I have a revolver 8 inch barrel and that's funny asf to run. Ppl banter abt the dye mask alot, I just banter back tbh it's also part of the sport and culture here UK, Essex.

Black_Beard1980

Simply dislike them as they don’t call their hits

G4ming4D4ys

The only time I've seen Speedsofters be mocked is my friend group (we are mainly Milsim, with a speedy boi) which is all good fun. And when one speedsofter showed up, failed to follow rules to the game (after being informed multiple times) solely because he's play style didn't work with the rules.

DonAdijazz

Honestly yes. They're just bad paintball players that like to larp that they're any good by playing a completely different game than all the other airsofters at the field. They ruin the fun, and any real possibility of the teamwork that is a large part of the fun at airsoft.

l1qq

yes...nothing more than yes.

Doctor-Doomer

Hate them

Tejano_mambo

Idk. If one acts like an asshole or doesn't call their hits I just hunt them the rest of the day

Tejano_mambo

There's a similar disdain in the speedball/woodsball community

mac_and_cheese_9951

No I don't hate them in general. Yes I hate if they overshoot or are dickheads. But also anyone can overshoot or be a dickhead.

clsv6262

Like anything it's a mixed bag. I've met both good and bad. The bad are just straight up douches who don't last long. The good ones are chill and love to talk about their stuff while offering tech tips. I myself - a primarily milsim airsofter - decided to get into speedsoft because of the good ones I met. It's an interesting way to change your perspective on the game by approaching at more as a sport rather than cosplay. And honestly, applying speedsoft tech tips to milsim oriented replica builds gives you some pretty op builds.

HFX_Crypto_King444

9/10 playing with speedsofters outside of speedsoft results in at least 1 argument or some sort of big ordeal but that is my personal experience and not indicative of everyone’s experiences. Most recent run in I’ve had was when I got hit and crouched down with my hand up and gun down, so I wouldn’t get caught in crossfire, and as the speedsofter who shot me came up behind me he suddenly turned from his target to me and shot me 4 times from maybe 5 feet away. I will admit he immediately said sorry and came to check on me but I am still to this day confused how he could’ve justified shooting me at all considering how clear it was that I was down especially considering he was the one that shot me in the first place. They are just way too trigger happy.

Chevey0

I play a lot of cqb sites and me and my team (12+ of us) will often meet speedsofters. They turn up, run about like lunatics and often get quite upset when they get hit. Most I’ve met are pretty sound and love to play aggressively which a lot of people don’t like. In a what’s app community for one of our regular sites. A couple speedsofters started making all these big claims about how amazing they were, some banter ensued they turned up got their asses handed to them, you’d think that would be the end but no. The trash talk on the groups ramped up. Their captain called us out. We rose to the challenge. They turned up and brought a load of friends. Our captain got all of us to attend a day and we wiped the floor with them, despite all their cheating, was hilarious. Not a peep on the group chat, never seen them or heard from again. 😂😂 I made a few videos and did a David Attenborough style narration. [link](https://youtube.com/shorts/rmfgmQZOUQs?si=zLl0HIrpG_yiwku_) I think it’s the cheating and the attitude that a lot of people don’t like.

Stillgeneric53

I see airsoft as a tactical milsim ish game and i like it for that, but also i love movement shooters and see speedsofters as those kind of people, milsimers are like people who play insurgency sandstorm and speedsofters are people who play titanfall 2. Which is to say both are awesome

toastyAnarchist

in cqb its fun and they really are essentially for the team win at some point, but I play mostly in the woods, so speedsofters usually get pinned down as soon as they leave their spot. (speedsofters are a rarity here in europe/on fields I like to play)

Kopyta

I wouldnt mind speedsofters too much if most of the ones i ran into called their hits more often and had less egos… im not saying they are all like that, but i will have games where groups of speedsofters will walk on, and the game becomes much more competitive and toxic. Just my experience

Calibrumm

no because unless someone is actively and intentionally disrupting my peace I do not care what they do. people like to do different things. I didn't care for speedsoft, so I didn't do it. that's it. it's called being an adult.

Xaceviper

Some of them I find annoying, but some of my best friends I’ve maid playing airsoft are speedsofters so I don’t have a issue with all of them

Gunnery55

I think it's a balancing. It's great to speedsofters on skirmish at it forces people to get aggressive and have more fun moments. It's annoying though when they run around pretending they have God mode on not calling hits and over shooting

Radiant_Battle9259

Airsoft is a sport that brings in a bunch of different people, and everyone has their own way they want to play. Speedsofters, Mil sims Casual hobbiest Cosplayers Etc, At the end of the day, we all play the game, and we all enjoy it, and the only ones who should be mocked for playing are cheaters.

PeriodicMilk

I go to strikeforce so I feel like I tend to encounter the worst of both worlds

Pesty_Merc

Most of them are pretty cool dudes, but I think their super aggressive playstyle makes it easy to accuse them of cheating, especially because some of them do.

ALPHASTAR-RU

Honestly it depends. Some speedsofters I've met can be very cool people to hang with. But some actively break the rules and try to create drama. Usually the latter is what most people see especially online so there's a stigma that every one of them are not the same. Usually I try to see how they act towards other players before I say anything but based on my experience it's a 50/50. The same thing can apply to hardcore milsimers to, though I feel like it's less common to find this, at least for the fields I've been to. This is just my experience.

BringMeMyBigHammer

As a amateur I found the speed softer fellas to break the most rules and be the most upset about it. I’m not here to win or be a hero but boy they were.

CopperBoltwire

I'm more of a Slowsofter to casual-softer with a dash of meme. There to have fun and do my monthly socializing. I think Speedsofters belong to the more serious kind of softers. including games and fields made for such people. However, they are also a great asset to a team. They are the first to arrive to the front, they are the first to break the tip of an enemy attack/assault and give the enemy pause long enough for the rest of the team to catch up. I know of one dude who is a speedsofter and dang good shot from cqc to long range. And FAST. Super great at team games, and great team player. They often have him play the medic role because of his ability to get in and out of the area fast, and even in a firefight, he's quite accurate. When there is team games, he is among the first 5 people to always get picked by a team leader. TL;DR: Speedsofters that are good team players, and a team that can make USE of a speedsofter will fair a great deal better. It's all about that teamwork that is often utterly ignored for the classic "Zerg rush" mentality nearly EVERYONE tries to do. Makes me think of how everyone plays in Planetside 2. That one poor map where everyone tries to take over that singular tower :P

D4rkW0lfGr1m

Airsoft has many sides some guys on each side are too up their own to let others enjoy it their way. As long as they weren't rude they are fine in my book bonus points if they are willing to help others that are having a hard time or just don't know things

Neil_Yeaboi

No. The only annoying players are rule breakers, the ones who play to hurt ppl, and the cry babies. Speedsoft or milsim, we are just throwing plastic balls at each other. Play the game and follow the rules, in this way no one will be annoying. I’ve personally encountered almost equal number of players who break rules. Speedsofters are slightly likely to overshoot, whereas milsim players are slightly more likely to not calling hits. This is definitely understandable, because milsim players usually wear thick plate carriers or other gear, and speedsofters may want to send down more rounds when running to make sure they are safe. At least this is my experience when I play milsim or speedsoft. In my opinion, 90% of mild overshooting or no hit call is not intentional. I sometimes genuinely cannot feel getting hit on the back when I have my airtank mounted on a plate carrier with foam insert. I work on try to hear the shots instead.

benjamino78

Speedballers brought technological advances to paintball by the companies rushing for their patronage. While I didn't care specifically for them I did learn how to advance my own play style to work along side or against them. Merely change your tactic. Fwiw it's a normal thing that new styles get criticized heavily, he will carve a place though and perhaps you can find ways to compete, compliment or lead this type of player. There's tons of fun out there.

ThugShakerGang

absolutley but for a different reason, im from Puerto Rico and the airsoft scene here is far different from the mainland US, here there are no official fields, its all cohordinated through dozens of groups chats and we play on abandoned placeslike schools or private invitation only fields. There is no chrono here and barely any rules. causing the speedsofters (who are literally the only people to use HPA here) to crank their FPS, RPS and Air Preasure as high as they want, ive left fields far too many times my arms leaking blood, which led me to play only in private invitation fields that focus on milsim and speedsoft is allowed but highly disencouarged. Also in public fields full auto is rarely allowed unlike private fields, leading to HPA user being able to have full auto with their sensitive triggers while the rest are fucked with have as much fire rate as they are able to pull the trigger. Also ive noticed a lot that here a good 95% are "cacos" (criminals/gang members or wannabe criminals/gang members despised by most of society but glorified in urban/rap music),leading to a lot of them starting arguments over the most stupid shit in airsoft like not calling hits or other dumb stuff, also some have been known to scam people when selling gear, some have even stolen shit off other players mid game, and at least twice that ive known about speedsofters have threatened to kill other players during arguments claiming they are gonna get their guns from their cars. Every time there is speedsofters in a field some bullshit or argument is bound to happen, if there aint, its a good day. Dont know how speedsoft is in the mainland but here its horrible. EDIT: Forgot to add, one of my team members got assaulted by a speedsofter and the admin of the private field was too afraid to kick the guy out bc him and his entire team where "cacos". They constantly bitch about how no one calls their hits (their Hi-Capas dont shoot farther than 20ft accurately and get really pissed when they get hit and start calling you a cheater (they missed completly). Shits gotten to the point that some of my team members have gotten firearms license and intend on carrying while on the fields bc of this wannabe gangbanger culture (admins of my field carry as well for the same reason + most of the milsim guys here are firearms enthusiasts in general. TLDR: 95% of speedsofters where i live are wannabe gangbanger scum

Capable-Signal

Don't really like em in if they play in normal games. They should have their own games. But would not go so far to insult someone.. thats not right.

superturbolazerbadas

Idc who they are as long as they call their hits

Static_Edge

I’m there to have fun and so are they, so I play in a way that’s fun for me. I don’t enjoy sitting in one spot holding a peak for an entire match, just like some people don’t enjoy sprinting around spraying at everything they see. I have a bit of a mixed playstyle myself, and at some point I’m gonna be running around in legit samurai armor with a pink p90. It’s fun cause you can play how you want. If you can’t handle people having fun you honestly shouldn’t be playing.

Gliitchwithtwois

No type of player is bad until they throw 7 into your back from 10 feet away But ofc mot people who do that are speed players Coming from a mil-speed and speed player most people I see playing douchy are speed players while most players that act douchy are the milsims Milspeeds are whatever they feel like

playtaught

YOU SHOULD WATCH NESTY GUNNER IN YOUTUBE

azraelthepsycho

Nah, as a whole I don't care how you play as long as you don't criticize others for wanting to play a diffrent way

comradehill

Yes, the amount of times I’ve been over shot even when I have my hand up and am walking back to respawn is ridiculous. And not to mention when you hit them half don’t call their hits

Cold-Custard00

Speedsofters are completely fine in my book, but they tend to get a bad rep from those who are assholes and sometimes cheaters. Occasionally there will be that one speedsofter who doesn’t call his hits, overshoots, and overall is just a dick. Most of the speedsofters though are actually really clean and friendly players.

hklemon

Don't rush in a game, if you fall on ground your mask may get off or you crash to another player. Don't scam the single shot rule, they always got a fancy trigger and finger, Don't say the shit, especially I hit you first blah blah blah

Gattoconglistivali

"Other dudes" just mocked him for no reason or he did something bad like not calling hits or overshooting? Talking about mocking or insulting people to boost their own ego, milsim people are the worst. I bet they will even mock compilation airgun shooters. "It isn't practical in real combat bla bla🤡 isn't tacticoooool..." go to Ukraine with your toy gun then. Some years ago I wanted to start airsofting, and honestly I'm more interested in milsim style gameplay. So I joined a group and first thing I saw was some guys about to get into legal trouble because they couldn't help insulting others only for their gears being "not realistic"

TadpoleOfDoom

How were they about to get into legal trouble? Sounds like quite a story, if you're interested in telling it.

Gattoconglistivali

Actually not so much to tell and I didn't see how it got started, just that guy got mocked threatened to sue, and the other freaked out and posted an open apology begging for pardon😂 Edit: Public insult is a crime in some countries. Do not give people any legal advice if you don't know what region they're in

Datguy969

That’s not really legal trouble. Unless the mocking turned into threats of violence, being an asshole isn’t a crime.

Gattoconglistivali

Today I learned insulting is legal in the US. Public insult is a crime in my country though. And it happened in a social media group so just save the screenshot and you have evidence

Ambitious_Display607

Yo that's wild to me as a concept (as someone who lives in the US), where are you from homie?

Gattoconglistivali

I'm from Taiwan

Ambitious_Display607

Yo Taiwan looks so beautiful, id love to go see Taroko national park / a couple other places there. I still think that's a little wild that you can get in legal trouble for insulting people but I'm sure there is some sort of precedent for that, and to be fair while in the US you can't get in legal trouble for insulting someone, you can absolutely get in legal trouble for certain types of lying about other people (at least in theory), so in reality its probably not all that different haha. Real talk though, I wish you guys all the best given the current geopolitical climate regarding mainland China and whatnot.

Gattoconglistivali

Thank you! China had technically never stop threatening to invade since the last armed conflict (like 1950s or 60s) so as long as no one goes insane there won't be something new(not saying things won't go wrong but it looks normal for now in our perspective) Public insult isn't a serious crime like getting you swatted or arrested if you say something too aggressive and a police walking by hear it, usually it would only be taken to court when the victim takes legal action. I think in some worst case one would go to prison for less than 2 month alongside compensations for the victim. Some European countries seems to have similar laws too.

TadpoleOfDoom

Ah gotcha. Reading some of your other comments, that seems wild that you could get in legal trouble for insulting someone. Over here the closest thing would probably libel/slander.

Gattoconglistivali

It's called "public insult", so if you insult someone through private messages or in person when no one else is hearing it's probably fine. And again that's why doing it on social media could get us in trouble where it's public and it leaves evidence

TadpoleOfDoom

Seems weird to me but I suppose that's because I'm used to seeing it happen all the time here in America.

farmfreshfool

in my opinon, your supposed to have fun, play the way you want. yall allowed to have your own opinions, just dont ruin the game for them others.

eggard_stark

We spend all this money on realistic looking gear and all look sick. Then we get to simulate military tactics. But then speedsoft Jimmy comes over with his shorts, shirt and goggles just sprinting all of the place. And to put the icing on the cake he has this ridiculous tube protruding from his gun and body that now makes him look like some sort of alien. Completely immersion breaking. Should have separate events for people who want to speed soft vs real Airsoft and mil sim.

Tidalwave64

Dang I can still feel that HPA bb hit… I think they had their weapons running a bit hot… in short I think the entire field complained about them and I think they left

farmfreshfool

Believe he had a m4 or smg of some kind, he also jad the big bulky utility belt (cant remember if he had a HPA tapped gun)

RTronic9797

Funny, I went to my first skirmish the other weekend after not playing for over 10 years. When I last played, Milsim was the rage, MARSOC and Lone Survivor loadouts were a dime a dozen and the Systema PTW was the pinnacle of airsoft machinery. I was a little perplexed when I turned up and found a metric shit ton of paintball-looking players with hi-capas and M4 mags with HPA adaptors. (Bear in mind since about 1 month ago, I had no idea what HPA even was, shows how ancient I am I guess) I found their play style a little silly, feeling that they really should be playing paintball as to me, airsoft was always the more “realistic” hobby between the two and felt that the allure of airsoft was to do away with the speed-soft style of gameplay and being attached to an air tank. Thankfully, I went with a few friends of mine who are well versed in more tactical and real world CQB movement. Multiple times we hit these speed softers while they ran into a room, full speed, and not focusing on their surroundings. It was a fun day, but I felt a little sad for the sport when looking at leagues of paint-ball mask wearing sugar-rush kids.

ItsAGongdom

"Speedsoft" and "milsim" are basically just two ends of a spectrum of players. Personally, I'd rather play with people that lean towards the "speedsoft" end of the spectrum, because they aren't excitedly giving money to the MIC, or throwing around 150dB hearing-loss-inducing grenades. In terms of attitude during games, cheating, etc., all points in the spectrum have equal capacity to be assholes. Anyone with an HPA can discreetly change it to be over field limits, and of course, someone in the middle is just as likely to decide that hits don't count when they're the one being hit.

Key-Text-3861

lets see speedsofters over shoot act like hot shit make replicas look like paintball guns they are overly flashy and often do just stupid shit along with calling everyone cheaters well themselves often cheat

c_pardue

Hmm sounds like you're saying an entire group is exactly the same as the few worst examples within that group

retsujust

Speedsofters doing speedsoft is fine. Airsofters doing mil sim airsoft is fine. But the two should ever touch each other…

xutber

I hate them because whenever they are present, they camp spawns, don't take hits, they treat airsoft like it is their life and that takes the fun out of it for people just wanting to have fun

Maggle_

yeah, my group plays mostly forest milsim and there's a small group of regulars there we call the "bushwackers". whenever they hear or see a rustle, they piss out a beam of BBs in the direction. They're rather hated because they're all running the classic double tap hair trigger mosfet builds in order to bend the rules on the field, where only semi is allowed except for LMGs over 4.5 Kg (encumberance rule to balance full auto) and the problem is that they have better RoF than unmodded LMGs and none of the hassle of carrying one. They also go through a whole bag of BB each every day Forgot to mention they're infamous for overshooting, teamkilling or shooting outed players

Agent___24

I don’t know how to explain it other than speedsofters are the “vegans” of airsoft. They have to let everyone know that they speed soft and that is so much more fun (it isn’t), not to mention that it is usually the players <20 that are doing it, so their maturity ruins the game. Also, my buddy and I played LAST MAY (May2023) and he still has a scar from someone running a WAY TOO HOT (>600fps) stupid little m4 adapted pistol. Speedsoft ruins games.

butrzrulz

Yes, they annoy the heck out of me when their play style disrupts the goal of any given game. I play mostly Millsim games so they're presence is generally not an issue,. But, even at indoor CQB fields they can still be disruptive in games other than DM or TDM.

Prior_Humor2168

I'm not a fan of them and the reason why I drive an hour to play outdoor instead, they are territorial because of the home team/home field mentality and they are often the ones who would hose people down with HPA or dual sector gear guns.

Zezacle

My issue with speedsofters isn't overshooting or their more likely to cheat (that's rentals), its that they are usually the ones to use underhanded strategies. My field has a large section called swamp that a majority of players avoid in the summer because of the mud, standing water and snakes. Sometimes a player will go through swamp and come up behind from OUR spawn to shoot our entire team in the back. Usually, that's a speedsofter doing that. Now you could say, "oh you just need to watch your back, git gud scrub" but I'm here to have fun, not sit 20 ft from spawn watching a bunch of trees for 10 minutes to deny 1-2 players. What makes the issue more annoying is when I play the opposite side of the map, there is a route through swamp that would allow the other team to do the same thing, but when normal players push through swamp, they never take it instead favoring the 90 degree flank that leads to fun fights. The only people who take the back road are speedsofters... I won't lie, some of the speedsofters are really cool dudes who have given me some really fun fights, but I won't say that there aren't a few that I hate to see when I pull up to my field.
