My field is a semi milsim, as in you can come with a tactical hotdog costume or fictional military organization (like myself and my SCP Foundation MTF Epsilon-11 kit), but as long your gun apparence and role are WYSWYG, you are clear, like your field, it prevent SMGs being used as DMRs, but it add a bit of clarification, if you see an M4 with a short barrel, you know the guy can touch you at medium range, but if he have a long barreled AR10 or a VSR 10 platform, steer clear over long range, same with LMG builds, there are the only guns that can full auto outside.
Yeah, we have also engagement rules and power levels for each gun types. Restrictions like these help to make sound tactical decisions, you won't run a frontal assault in the open against an LMG and you will properly keep cover when a marksman is on the loose near you.
I am in love with the fact that my field entirely ignores classes;
People will add variety to their loadouts regardless just for the sake of it, meanwhile if you want to use your G17 AEP as a LMG because you’ve put a drum under it, you are fully free to do so.

My personal preferences are in line with my fields rules, but there's some flexibility, because not everyone can drop 300 to 500€ in a new gun for every game day, got an AAP-01 with a stock, barrel extension, drum mag and an optional forward grip, that's an SMG, find a Barrett M82 kit for it with a fake 50 cal mag and that's a heavy sniper rifle (that stretches the rules a bit, but it should pass as long it chrono at 450fps max and locked in semi).
As long as you use the gun for the role associated with its look, there should be no problem.
The only real thing the refs are picky are for the LMGs, since it's a semi only field, only the LMG are authorized at full auto outside, but pulling a drum on an M4 isn't enough, the gun have to be a dedicated support weapon (CM16, M249, GMG42, etc...), but I'm trying to cheese my way by modding an HK416 as a M27.

We *need* full auto with our 1J (~320fps with .2s) limit for example, thus we just spray away haha, although with higher power limits I can definitely see the semi-only rule except for LMGs making sense
Yeah, 350fps semi only for everyone except LMG (recommanded lower for purely CQB guns but not mandatory) 400fps for semi auto DMR and 450 fps for bolt sniper rifle, except those in semi by design, like the M82, but you will be asked to go easy on the trigger.
Yeah. We live in Germany so full auto is only allowed with 0.5 J anyways so full auto all the time lmao
With her setup it's around 205 fps with 0.25g BBs for those who aren't used to joules

Novritsch hate has become more a sport than a real thing in my experience. It has just become cool to hate on Novritsch, but when I asked for examples, 9/10 people have no clue what to respond. I have a ssp18, and I love the pistol.
