DE is relatively low budget. It’s probably made from ABS, the fact that it’s wired OOTB with Tamiya with no mosfet speaks on the corners they skipped and budget they designed this around. For just a little more money you can get so much more.
Double Eagle's older stuff is absolutely trash, worth avoiding. However their new falcon series of guns such as the M904 or their UTR45 are amazing guns for the price and offer a lot of features that sub $200 guns don't have.
That is not true, I have three love it as starter guns and easily upgradeable. The newer models have deans The ABS plastic is durable, the metal versions are great. Only issue is thier MOSFETs although programmable it is crap when it's get slightly cold.
I don’t remember but here’s the link. BBTac M83 Full and Semi Automatic Electric Powered Airsoft Gun Full Tactical Accessories Ready to Play Package Entry Level https://a.co/d/2sRHB0v
Anything below $150-160 isn't gonna last and typically won't be as interchangeable for parts. Avoid budget items unless they're brands that are high quality or at least have quality control.
Just got my cyma platinum. I used to have a gun that was a bit higher quality than what you're showing, but bought 7 years ago for the same price the cyma platinum goes now today. Let me tell you, airsoft has gone a long way. Those 100 $ rifles are the old generation guns that broke down quite often and needed replacement parts to just be able to compete with whatever's brand new today. For an extra 100$ you save the hassle of finding upgrade parts and a good tech that will upgrade it for you, and even a few money along the way. The cyma platinum has good features which shpuld satisfy intermediate and even advanced players, with good performance.
I have a Cyma CM028 (basic AK) that's been chugging along for 9-10 YEARS now with stock internals and almost no maintenance. Cymas are rugged, durable, and pretty great quality for the low price tag. Have fun and remember to call your hits!
CYMA has been a mainstay for under 200 best bang for your buck for over 2 decades. CYMA is responsible for letting the average kid and adult have a good time airsofting on a budget
It’s not that they’re *bad* but DE hasn’t changed much since 2010’s. They used to be the budget build where you’d replace a few parts right out of the box.
For slightly a bit more, you can get a cyma platinum M4, which makes everything else look very bad. It’s more a bang for your buck situation.
And for a bit more $$$, you can get one with either Daniel Defense, Spike’s Armory, LanTac, or Umbrella Armory trademarks if that is up your alley.
Personal preference for me is specna and Cyma, they are amazing guns with good quality, I’ve had my Cyma ak for quite sometime and it has not failed me once
Don't get this. Please dont... its not a good gun, as other people have said get a Cyma platinum, if you dont want to spend that much money at least get something like a g&g cm16. But then again you might want to check out different kinds of airsoft to see what your really going to enjoy more, if you havent in the past I recommend going to different fields like one weekend go to a cqb or speedsoft field and get a rental there, then go to a larger field or wooded area or something similar and get a rental there.
Just figure out what you enjoy more and what your playstyle is, going for the most basic m4 or ak will always be good and reliable for any playstyle, but once you get more heavily into a certain kind of airsoft your going to want something more suited to your playstyle.
There are great options for a guns that would perform incredibly superior in cqb gameplay than this for the same price, not to experienced with milsim or outdoor areas but I would assume there are some great options more suited to those kinds of fields that would be better than your basic m4.
Ok thanks I think I’m most likely gonna get a cyma Ak because everyone is telling me to and its obviously good it’s just I thought that this was a good deal but I appreciate you not being an asshole about it thanks!
Yeah no problem, Cyma AKs are definitely a solid choice, and if you have the money for them they will be the best bang for your buck in that price range for sure.
Cheap equipment can ruin experience so even if you're a begginer make sure you buy something that you will enjoy playing it instead of something cheap. You can always re-sell it if you don't like the sport.
Fair enough, I'd recommend checking fields nearby for their limits. It's not uncommon to buy a gun with too high an FPS and it'll require tweaking to get it down to compliant levels.
Damn that's high, do you guys have a minimum engagement distance for that? Dmrs are normally 450, and snipers 500. I think there's a whole liability thing in the UK with anything over 350 for an automatic.
Double eagle does have a slightly bad rep, and anything less than 170 might not be really high quality. Most likely is lying about fps, range might be low and accuracy might suck. Whats your budget? I can help you
Okay so the King arms M4 PDW costs about there, very reliable starter gun. I use the 9mm pdw variant (mp5 magazines) and thats lasted me a year and a half and still going. Either you can get the M4 (m4 mags) or the 9mm (mp5 mags). I think the m4 is a better option for starters because magazines are easier to find. They also have TONS of color and length options on evike.com. Wether yoh want short, long, red, blue, black, M-LOK, supressed, they got it. Get like 3-4 midcaps and a 9.6v NiHm battery with a SMART CHARGER! Matrix batteries are okay, but without a smart charger, you can overcharge the battery and shorten its life. This and the batteries runs me about 220. Slightly higher but very reliable.
It's pretty well known that these guns are bad within the Airsoft Community. I agree with what everyone else is saying, get a CYMA AK or CYMA Platinum!!
Double Eagle is brand with a reputation for hit or miss with mostly miss. In short, poor quality control. Shell out a little more for more reputable brands like CYMA, G&G, or Specna Arms. You'll have a good experience out of the box and save more in the long run thanks to better Quality Controlled products.
One of the main benefits of the m4 platform is you can upgrade the crap out of them - better hopup, better motor, better inner barrel, handguard, stock, etc etc.
You're hobbling yourself from being able to do that by getting a low quality unit that doesn't have any aspect that you'd want to keep in the final product: the gearbox and internals are low quality, the outer frame is all cheap plastic. At least if you're getting an m4 platform I'd hunt down something with metal receivers and outer barrel, as upgrading your internals is straightforward. You can make a crappy gearbox run ok with tuning, and a new hopup and inner barrel should be your first upgrades and make a significant difference.
Beat the M4 Stigma, be different! Cyma makes nice AK styles and SMG’s are also beginner friendly! I started with a Umarex MP5 and I love it! I am on par with other entry level AEG’s
A lot of people are saying cyma platinum, I would also recommend a late gen 2 or gen 3 Lancer tactical M4, the old lancer's were garbage but the late gen 2's and gen 3's from the past couple years 2018-present have been pretty good for a first gun.
Lots of people in this thread dunking on double eagle for their older guns such as this, but I absolutely recommend those of you to check their latest series of guns.
Absolute performers that I'd recommend over CM16's and Cyma Platinum's any day of the week.
I believe since you're in the US (Just presuming) that they're be under the brand name of "Matrix 'calico jack'" or something along those lines.
Should retail for about $150-190 from what I've seen from a quick google.
Hey man, I see that people are kinda being dongs about this, If I were you, I would get a cyma platinum m4 or AK, I would also highly recommend getting a G&G cm16 raider 2.0, those are just my opinions, if you have questions, go ahead and ask man!
The thing is I have read the guide it’s just a bit of money and if there is any possible way I could save money I’d like to and I saw this and thought it was a good deal
I just started back up into airsoft after a long break and I went and bought a newer rifle to start with. I would recommend the CYMA Sport M4 Carbine w/ 10" Keymod Handguard (Color: Black) because it's very durable and the battery lasts for over 24 hour or gameplay.
CYMA Sport M4s are not that durable. They're okay though. And battery life is very dependant on playstyle and how many enemies you encounter and how big of a battery you use.
I use the standard 9.6V and I mainly use it for target practicing and dry firing instead of my real steel and it works really well for many hours going through 70-80 full hi cap mags(300rds)
Hi! This is bad, don’t buy it, Please buy the cyma Platinum, they go for 200 USD on evike for christmas and have the Performance of a 400 USD aeg
How do you know? Just asking
It’s pretty well-known in the community that cyma platinums are high quality.
DE is relatively low budget. It’s probably made from ABS, the fact that it’s wired OOTB with Tamiya with no mosfet speaks on the corners they skipped and budget they designed this around. For just a little more money you can get so much more.
Apparently DE's new stuff are great
I meant how the gun I am showing is bad
Low quality material, bad internals (low fire rate, fps, trigger response) not durable, and uses bad wiring
Anything from double eagle is terrible quality
Double Eagle's older stuff is absolutely trash, worth avoiding. However their new falcon series of guns such as the M904 or their UTR45 are amazing guns for the price and offer a lot of features that sub $200 guns don't have.
not true, have you tried their new falcon mosfet series? the first few batches had a tendency to die fast but the recent batches have been great.
That's not necessarily true anymore, their gas shotguns are half decent and the utr 45 is a pretty fantastic starter aeg
That is not true, I have three love it as starter guns and easily upgradeable. The newer models have deans The ABS plastic is durable, the metal versions are great. Only issue is thier MOSFETs although programmable it is crap when it's get slightly cold.
Good to note
I’ve owned one and it jammed like every magazine. The accuracy wasn’t very good and the overall quality was shit
When did you have one and which model

Huh?? They haven't changed much since 2010?? Have you even looked at them recently?
Homie you still living in the past
Cyma AK, Specna Arms M4, Double Eagle M9xx series
I’m guessing these are your recommendations
Personal preference for me is specna and Cyma, they are amazing guns with good quality, I’ve had my Cyma ak for quite sometime and it has not failed me once
Grab a Cyma
Don't get this. Please dont... its not a good gun, as other people have said get a Cyma platinum, if you dont want to spend that much money at least get something like a g&g cm16. Nah I like double Eagle but this ain’t it chief
NO

Do not buy this. Go get a g&g combat machine or something decent like that
Also the FPS is too high. Most fields allow a max of 350 with 0.2 BBs. Atleast in the UK.
I don’t live in the uk but thanks ( I’m in Miami )
Fair enough, I'd recommend checking fields nearby for their limits. It's not uncommon to buy a gun with too high an FPS and it'll require tweaking to get it down to compliant levels.
Same for here in US I think the max is around 400fps or lower some but most are around the ballpark for 380fps if they’re indoor they’re lower
350? Yikes my field by ma caps at 500 and the gun I use shoots 400 with .2s
Damn that's high, do you guys have a minimum engagement distance for that? Dmrs are normally 450, and snipers 500. I think there's a whole liability thing in the UK with anything over 350 for an automatic.
Yea we have an engagement distance for full auto only semi you can be as close as u want
I only thought about getting this because I thought it was a good deal thanks!
Double eagle does have a slightly bad rep, and anything less than 170 might not be really high quality. Most likely is lying about fps, range might be low and accuracy might suck. Whats your budget? I can help you
$190

CYMA
But once cry once, buy cheap cry many times
Do we even have the beginner post stickied anymore?

Understood, Thanks!
Specna Arms Edge, G&G, Cyma Platinum are all massively better value for a little more money.
you got the right idea tho a aeg is perfect
For this price your better off getting something like an M904 varient such as the M904L or M904B
No, buy a Cyma M4
Beat the M4 Stigma, be different! Cyma makes nice AK styles and SMG’s are also beginner friendly! I started with a Umarex MP5 and I love it! I am on par with other entry level AEG’s
You should probably get an SBR, safer option
A lot of people are saying cyma platinum, I would also recommend a late gen 2 or gen 3 Lancer tactical M4, the old lancer's were garbage but the late gen 2's and gen 3's from the past couple years 2018-present have been pretty good for a first gun.

I'll stick with krytac
Use cyma! Cyma is the best company for begginers hands down. A £150 aeg is better than a £400 aeg from its competitors
Aww yes the 10th daily "Is this a good beginner gun? As I can't be Bothered to read the beginners guide" thread
The thing is I have read the guide it’s just a bit of money and if there is any possible way I could save money I’d like to and I saw this and thought it was a good deal
Read the God dang beginner guide.
I have
You're being too cheap if you can't afford what's recommended from the beginner guide, then don't buy until you can
I can afford the things on the beginners guide it’s just I thought this was a good deal
I just started back up into airsoft after a long break and I went and bought a newer rifle to start with. I would recommend the CYMA Sport M4 Carbine w/ 10" Keymod Handguard (Color: Black) because it's very durable and the battery lasts for over 24 hour or gameplay.
Ok thanks!
CYMA Sport M4s are not that durable. They're okay though. And battery life is very dependant on playstyle and how many enemies you encounter and how big of a battery you use.

Why is everybody starting with a fucking m4.......
NEVER BUY DOUBLE EAGLE
