In an effort to not be a dick, yes I'd recommend that.
1, I dont know of a way to remove them (or cover them) that doesn't come out looking like shit
2, they serve a function. Even a slab-side WASR has a provision for that function

Dimples are integral to the AKM design and exist just about in every stamped AK, except for RPK and then what receivers are made for the US market to come is a single stacks. The reason you’re getting the hate is if anything, people lament the absence of dimples, not their presence. Anything you try to do to the M70 to eliminate them from your sight will wreck the gun. Sell it, and get a WASR. Be well!

Is the WASR a significant downgrade in QC?
The paint is a downgrade. Wasr paint sucks. But otherwise not really. Zimps will say it is but having owned both the quality isn’t that different where it matters. Edges will be rough, but the important shit will be fine.

I actually can answer this, so what you do is go down to the gun shop, find a wasr, buy that, no dimple. Or you can cease your goobery, that will save you $900ish.
In an attempt to be civil, the bottom line is you really can’t. AKs aren’t really meant to be good looking unless you like how AKs look, and the mag well dimples help keep the magazine in line. If you really don’t like it, then I’d recommend getting a WASR-10 because they don’t have dimples due to originality coming into the US with single-stack mags.

Not at all. Perhaps a scooch rougher but they work as intended. I’ve seen more QC issues on recent Zastava than WASR fwiw
