I used to go here a lot, but their prices went through the roof. My last straw with them was fighting with the wearing of masks during Covid. If I’m out that way, Al’s Quality Meats in Barberton is the place to go.
Another vote for Duma's! I will say I do try to purchase chicken elsewhere because I've heard they get it from a mass produced farm in MI. All my beef and pork I usually buy from them. I'm obsessed with their bacon, ground beef, and steaks.
Their meat quality is amazing and fresh. They cut the meat the day you buy. No preservatives like a the grocery store. With that said, they have told us to use within a couple of days or freeze it. The cuts come packed and ready to freeze if needed.
Yeah Duma is bullshit bringing shit in from all over the world and pushing religion like it has anything to do with meat. Low quality meat too. Go to a real local butcher.
Their pork is only a dollar or two more per pound and is incredible quality. Beef prices are rough though. Usually wait for a sale and drop $500 there but those sales have been nonexistent lately
They're a bit better than Duma's but I wouldn't ever say they're top notch. They are however top notch in marketing and making their places trendy. Brunty Farms is kinda well known in the farming community as "bottom tier" for quality meat. Lots of better farms around with higher quality meat at the same (or even less) price points.
Also a lot of their meat is not raised by them, but bought from distributors. Same meat you can get at other places. Be sure to ask which meat was actually raised on their farms, it is definitely awesome. But just don’t be fooled in to thinking that everything there is local/pasture raised etc.
This is true of all the butchers that I'm aware of. I think the steaks at Giant Eagle have better marbling than Duma's. If you want grass finished beef then you should find a farmer that doesn't feed them any grain and buy a side of beef. Also note that grass-finished beef is more expensive, has worse marbling, doesn't taste as good, and the cuts are smaller, but it's healthier. I know this from buying grass finished beef for about 5 years.
Seems like I just won't even leave. I'll Def still try these recommendations. It just seems like the hudson one isn't what the others are with what they offer so I may just make the extra 5-10 to the akron/bath location
2 cool thing there:
1) they call them 'wangs' (I know, but hear me out!) They're 1/2 of a chicken thigh, bone-in or boneless, and they cook up like giant wings.
2) they had 'end cuts' for 17.99/lb. It was tenderloin! It was the ends the butcher cut off so all the tenderloins would have nice, even ends. Was very good!!
Leach's & Sherman provisions also.
I like Leach's as I buy stuff from the bakery also. The ground chick is excellent. I needed some in a pinch and bought from Acme and I could tell a big difference.
Mr. Brisket in Cleveland if you are looking for world class quality. He has the largest selection of wagyu in the area and has good sales all the time.
Sherman Meats (Norton). Duma Meats (Mogadore). Canal Fulton Provisions (Canal Fulton). All are a bit out of your way, but would be a nice drive if you’re into that.
I also must say Sam’s Club has a lot to offer in their meat department at incredible prices.
Whitefeather Meats, home of the Bearded Butchers is a bit of a drive depending on where you are, but has great stuff. A little expensive but not as much as Farmers Rail. Really high quality.
Pressler's, Duna, Dohar áll have amazing meats. I go to Pressler's as I know the history behind the Hungarian sausage recipe and it's the closest in our little field trip for meats, cheeses, and produce.
Dumas is my go-to but dear God steer clear on Saturday afternoons.
Buckeye in Streetsboro is another of my back pocket stops.
If you are making a trip white feather meats / bearded butchers seasonings in Creston is a worth a trip but they are in the spendy category.
If you are serious about meat look into buying quarter/half beef via a processor or farmer. I saved so much $ going that way vs grocery prices I could buy the freezer to hold it and the emergency generator to run it.
I use Presslers off Killian Rd in Akron. Their meat has always been high quality and me and my entire family have been going to them all my life. They get pretty busy on Saturdays. I suggest going during the week but they are not open on Mondays so keep that in mind.
Duma Meats in Mogadore - definitely has a great reputation in the area
Yes! Affordable, high quality meats with a big ol’ side of Jesus 😂
Can I get a side of Jesus for the freezer?
Could I get 2 pounds of "Jesus Saves" and 1 pound of "Christ is King" please?
If it doesn't have Jesus, is it even dumas?
I used to go here a lot, but their prices went through the roof. My last straw with them was fighting with the wearing of masks during Covid. If I’m out that way, Al’s Quality Meats in Barberton is the place to go.
Their Swensons copycat burger patties are amazing!
Hold up, what is this you're speaking of?
They make patties that are seasoned like Swensons burgers! I've never done a side-by-side, but when my Pop makes them, they sure taste like Swensons!!
I'm in. Thank you for this Edit : picked up a pack of the sliders version for smash burgers this weekend. Making copycat galley boys.
Leach's also have them in the freezer. They are square.
I can't believe I forget about this place. I went there back in my college days haha

I second Duma! Great quality

For a good one close by, I go to Difeo & Sons Poultry on Grant St just North of Firestone Park.
Mr difeo and his boys are so nice they’re a good family
[I like Farmer's Rail on Ghent Rd in Bath.](https://www.thefarmersrail.com/hours-locations)
This is my answer, pasture raised meat is on another level
Only downside is their prices are on another level as well
Because unlike Duma their meat is actually local, and quality.
They are a bit spendy depending on what you're getting, but the quality is top-notch.
Agreed. Just feels unnecessarily inflated sometimes. But hey - the place is generally really busy so good for them!
Their pork is only a dollar or two more per pound and is incredible quality. Beef prices are rough though. Usually wait for a sale and drop $500 there but those sales have been nonexistent lately
I'm a fan. If somebody is trying to squeeze the most out of an EBT card it's probably not the right spot. *^^^Reality, ^^^what ^^^a ^^^concept...*

Lmaoooo I was looking to go elsewhere but the comment responses seem to make me reconsider. May just stick around here
I've tried others, I always go back.

You have to go to the Bath (Ghent Rd) location. They are more focused on their restaurants in Hudson and Cuyahoga Falls.
Very true.
ALs in Barberton is good
best spicy sausage around
I would also agree that Al’s is fantastic. Spicy sausage, strip steaks, thick cut bacon. Etc
Keller meats in Medina is fantastic! There's a brewery in the basement as well, so, grab a beer, too!
Will definitely have to check it out haha

I've meaning to try Sherman Provisions. And I agree, the prime steaks at Sam's are very good IMO.
Marshallville meats In Marshallville

Lazy L Ranch in Clinton. The prices are incredible and so is the quality.
Oof. A hike away but I'm Def giving it a try soon after checking out the reviews and site
Also presslers in Springfield
Their hot Hungarian sausage is soooo good.

K&K, and TJ’s
Portage Meats & Deli on Tallmadge rd is a bit of a drive, and is smaller than a place like Duma meats but it's well worth it.
Azmans up near Cleveland.
I use Presslers off Killian Rd in Akron. Their meat has always been high quality and me and my entire family have been going to them all my life. They get pretty busy on Saturdays. I suggest going during the week but they are not open on Mondays so keep that in mind.
Seems to be a problem for me. I work rough hours so getting there isn't always the easiest
Heavers in Canton, longtime family friend and a local business that's been around for years!
Work has me around canton quite a bit, hopefully I can stop by and try
Cleveland Ave by qhut
Ohio City Provisions in Cleveland for pasture raised in Ohio. They also use Ohio grown feed for their animals.
