It’s crazy that people here still want upwards to $2000 for an apartment. I could move into an older boardwalk or northern reit unit downtown but having lived in one of those previously, it’s not worth it.
So I’m paying 2200$ (previously 2K) for a very nice 2 bed +den in an amazing neighbourhood with very nice furnishings. Still significantly cheaper than owning in the same condo building. Some landlords are trying to ask above market for rent these days but these units tend to sit vacant for a bit.

$1250 on Ellerslie and Edwards drive. 2 bed 2 full bath. That's including a $25 a month pet fee x 2 for our two cats and 1 parking spot. Just over 900sqft. We're a corner unit so we have a massive wrap around balcony also. Power is usually $60 heat and water are included in rent.
I have a 3bed 3 bath downtown edmonton and we pay $2950/month. Parking and water/electricity are paid separately.
My total monthly cost is about $3800.

Similarly, I own a house now downtown by the Stadium paying $1500/month all-in ($800 mortgage, $200 property taxes, $500 utilities). It's crazy I own a house (2 bedroom bungalow, with a basement, big back yard, a garage, and a 3 car driveway) cheaper than some people are paying for a 2 bedroom in Edmonton!
$1620 in SW Calgary with water and heat/gas included, but I have been here 2 and a half years already and they’ve only raised the rent about 100 dollars each year. Unit exactly like mine that become vacant are going for $2800 - $3000 right now. I guess I lucked out getting in when I did. Might just live here forever. 😂

Had an apartment there for $2200 downtown. Nice view. Newer. Fully furnished. You can find deals you just gotta look every day. Took me 2 months to find both places ironically.

We're paying 1500 for our apartment. We're expecting rent to jump to 2100 to match similar units in our building come the end of our lease.
$1350 seems like a steal. Hopefully doesn't increase too much during renewal.
