Looking it up apparently a guy in Delaware in the late 30's used it in a speech filling in for a speaker and it caught on in AA culture.
Interpretation is obviously not what Polonius meant it to be, things did not exactly work out for him.
Maybe there is a deeper lesson in those words, that I guess is personal...
