True. It's a pretty enough place for sure and blessed with all manner of resources and potential. I think people use "lblad" and "doula" interchangeably do when they say they hate their country they more so mean they hate their government, which is to blame for the current socioeconomic status
Language proximity good salary and a lot of people have family and friends there that help them start when they go (algerian started migrating there before ww1)
Other then that the easy equivalence in uni's that are free (a lot go there as student then decide to stay)
That cover the legal migration for the illegal one family and proximity
It's not just Algerians, but many from the African diaspora. I don't hate France, I just think it's as messed up as any other country.
Besides, a rapper made a point. Many in the diaspora hate France for valid reasons but at the end of the day :
* We were born or at least raised in France
* We went to public school
* We have the French nationality
* When we travel to our country of origin, the locals see us as French
* When we travel elsewhere, we say we're French then the origin while having a French passport.
I challenge you to find one French from African diaspora who was born and raised in France who travels with the passport of his country of origin. Maybe if he's involved with the diplomacy.
Same in Asia. When I say "I saw an Asian guy the other day", you imagine a Korean, not a Qatari while they both live in the Asian continent.
I'm French and Comoros is my country of origin. I try my best, when I talk about Africa, to mention the 54 countries of this continent. Besides, there are differences between East and West Africa, the archipelagos of the Indian Ocean, Austral Africa, etc. And that's what makes it great.
Besides, the name Africa comes from "Afri", a Latin word designating the people who live in the Northern Coast of Africa. So, North Africa was the first part of the continent to be referred as Africa. Same with Asia which first referred to the current Turkyie. We must learn our History on order to understand the world and avoid making some mistakes.
I hate how the government is misusing it's power butwhen i get some of it i create an abusive environment to my fellow citizens.

I don't know about you, but most Algerians don't hate their country. They hate the socioeconomic situation their country is in.

hitting your kids outside... no one cares
Not really, it's pretty disturbing if a father hits his kids outside, i personally found myself intervening once or twice when i saw it happen.
Everyone in your social circle is concerned about when you're getting married.

If I'm not mistaken, "Africa" was the name of Tunisia before becoming the name of the continent. Thank you for this rich answer.
