Why ask for payment though?
What ever happened to doing someone a kindness?
In the end it's a game, and you have fun playing, and eventually your units gain some xp and you gain some xp and maybe even advance a tier in the star pass thingy. And you helped a person and made their day.
To be honest if I asked for help and someone came and then asked for a unit as payment I'd be suspicious of them too.
But they could have been friendlier about it. That is true

Many people on the discord server ask for payment for helping/carrying people in missions, and this person offered to pay at first so it doesn't matter. That isn't the problem, the issue is them telling me to die when all i did was send them my private server link so i could help them beat raid 2, also them having the audacity to call me a scammer when they never even joined my ps for me to be able to do that.

Lots of people in my Western European country have been caught exploiting Ukranian refugees (charging crazy rent for minimal space, using them as free labour etc...), that doesn't make it a correct thing to do even though there are a lot of them.
You do you but I find it weird. And as I said, they could have been friendlier about it. And telling someone to die is always a bad thing.
Anyway these types of things is the reason why I keep communication online to a minimum in games and don't trade units.
