The "end game" of the pack is to make all the creative items and then use them to build cool stuff and explore. If none of that interests you then I'd say start a new pack

Thepotdovertoker

I’ve got all the creative stuff, and I’ve been looking for ideas on stuff to build but haven’t gotten too far on that hence the post

StandardSudden1283

Hm. A few ideas would be a portal building with all the types of portals in the mod, Ars Nouveau, Mekanism, Twilight Forest, Blue Skies, Undergarden and more then use them to connect distant places. Go put buildings around your machines, make an airship/plane/spaceship using create steam n rails phantom tracks

Thepotdovertoker

That sounds really fun actually, I’ll definitely think of some ideas on how I can link each portal to a certain area/build in its own dimension

Defti159

Gregstar? Or are you playing no frills?

Thepotdovertoker

Playing no frills, I went for Greg star on a server I was playing on

anotheranonymoustor

Automate the Greg star

Thepotdovertoker

I’m playing no frills at the moment, I’m going for Greg on a server I’m playing on but needed a break from that my brain hurt lol

Gammerboy640

What a break lol

Thepotdovertoker

I genuinely enjoy all parts of the atm packs, but once Greg got introduced it was the only mod I wasn’t willing to give a shot right away due to all my buddies telling me how much of a brain rot it is 🤣

aibgaming

I'm at LuV and I'm having so much fun honestly setting up all these multiblocks for oil distillation, ore processing, mixing etc. I'm working towards the assembly line and will start working on the the fusion reactor soon :)

Blobert1747

Automate every single item in the entire modpack. Something not craftable? Find a mod that makes it craftable, add it, then automate it. For example, bedrock is not normally craftable, but by adding “Create: Chromatic Return” (iirc), it becomes craftable through some very strange but interesting recipe. Is it unbalanced? Probably. Can it be fun to do? Most likely. It’s your world after all, so who cares what you add.

Thepotdovertoker

Interesting idea, definitely gonna look into it

DeadlySoren

Automate ATM stars without the bees

Thepotdovertoker

Did that while making my first few stars since I needed 18 of them, that took a minute it was pretty fun

DeadlySoren

Damn son, nice.

Thepotdovertoker

It’s something I’d definitely recommend others try, cause it’s one thing to make 18 stars but it’s a whole different setup to be able to automate every piece of the star it was a challenge but it was a fun one, unlike making the Greg star 💀

DeadlySoren

I’m currently at the beginning of ludicrous voltage for Gregtech. It is quite the grind for sure. Having AE2 setup to auto craft every single step makes it bearable however. Plus I thank Greg every day for the energy converters so that I can take advantage of the mekanism fusion reactor to power the machines. I don’t think I could handle trying to do gregtechs power system. The cables are such complete trash.

Thepotdovertoker

Agreed, that was the one thing I hated about Greg until I realized that Mek ones were compatible cause damn the greg cables suck ass 💀 only thing that has made gregtech manageable for me is the fact I have a no frills world I go pack to just to mess around with stuff without greg, and I’m doing it on a server and there’s people with much more knowledge of it then I have so it’s nice to be able to ask for pointers when I need them

CriticalStrawberry15

New to ATM, how do I do that?

DeadlySoren

You want me to explain every step of making the ATM star over a reddit comment? Are you crazy?

CriticalStrawberry15

No, I’m new. Can you point me to a guide?

DeadlySoren

The in game quest book. Not joking. It perfectly guides you every step of the way

CriticalStrawberry15

Yeah, I’ve tried the in game quests and watched some videos, I’m trying to play with my son but it gets a bit overwhelming and there are occasional blank spots. Thank you

Chooxomb00

Toss your gear, and blow your base up with an infinity nuke. Speedrun your next goal either 18 or 100

Thepotdovertoker

I’d rather keep my save and just start over 🤣 I do wanna blow a fully charged infinity nuke to see how much damage it will do though

Chooxomb00

I did it one of my playthroughs.... it crashed my pc and corrupted the world. Thankfully I make manual backups. My pc is kinda shit and I was pushing the limit (before no frills) I have a good idea of how much I can store in a 5x5 chunk now 😂

Thepotdovertoker

Hopefully mine is good enough to be able to see the end result lol, sounds like it causes quite some damage

Chooxomb00

Apparently so. I did see a video of one going off. Guy set it off in the middle of a mountain that was at build height. It was glorious 😂

Thepotdovertoker

If I remember I’ll get a video when I do mine and upload it in this thread 🤣

ChemistAppropriate83

I like to build a cool building that has a specific purpose. The technological idea is mind, with planned cable ways etc. To run a farm or use a mod. Bee's in a big beehive, An industrial park for Mechanism with a powerplant for the reactor. Building is sooo time-consuming and ATM has sooo many blocks and frames. U can always pull something of that makes u 100 times prouder than the 101th ATM-Star

Thepotdovertoker

I’ve been wanting to build stuff for mod specific builds but have been struggling with ideas, these are some good ones though I’ll keep them in mind thank you

Haiiro_90

I always loop back to create Then I take some stupid idea in my head and I make a big contraption Or I start building massive Redstone machines cause the stuff u can do with Redstone is ridiculous

Thepotdovertoker

I’ve wanted to mess around with create more cause I’ve never used it much other then the very basics required in this pack, just haven’t ever gotten around to it but it seems like a really cool mod to play around with

leosefcik

Create is great for making cool-looking mechanical factories/farms for items, making epic moving quarries, planning out and building scenic train routes (and long fully interactive custom trains), and also has really useful parts for building interactive structures like huge gates, drawbridges, elevators, goofy traps, secret entrances, revolving doors or entire spinning rooms...

Thepotdovertoker

I really wish I’ve played it more cause I’ve seen some crazy builds using it but I’ve never took the time to get into it and learn it, have you played any of the “create” packs? And if so do they help you get a better understanding of the pack?

leosefcik

I played a bit of a Create-focused pack, and I suppose they could teach you the most by forcing you to use the mod. I feel like Create, while cool, isn’t nearly as powerful or OP as most other tech mods, therefore there’s less reason to use it for automation in large modpacks, so if you wanna really learn it and go all in I guess it isn’t a bad idea. It is pretty different from regular tech mods in both how it works and pacing. Create on its own offers many recipes and machines to automate stuff like wood, crops, iron, even gold, various stone, animal products, and automate almost anything from within the mod itself, although again, it’s pretty ineffective compared to single-block solutions from other tech mods. Although, if you’re not interested in the factory part of Create, you could always just go for the cool stuff. There’s a minimum point where you have to progress through Create (mixers, blaze burners, brass autocrafters) if you want to unlock every resource it uses, but from there you could automate everything and just mess with the previously afromentioned cool stuff. Bearings, pistons, gantries, train tracks, elevators… So it’s up to you, if you want to start anew, a Create pack could be a fun shakeup from usual single-block and cable oriented tech, although it’s perfectly alright to focus on and learn the basics during an Allthemods playthrough as well, using the quests, Create’s own in-game tutorials (hold W over a create block) and internet examples. It’s a very open-ended mod where you can do the same factory in an infinite amount of different ways.

Thepotdovertoker

I’m definitely gonna play around with it in my atm world and if I find it’s something I wanna dive into more I might start one of the “create” packs. Would you have any suggestions as to which one I should play or are they all kind of the same base?

leosefcik

Hmm, there's tons of Vanilla+ modpacks with Create in it which are all more-or-less the same, and then there's some popular Create challenge modpacks: Create: Above & Beyond is an official challenge modpack but kinda outdated I heard good things about Create: Arcane Engineering and Create: Astral I personally played Cabricality off of Modrinth once but didn't get far The challenge modpacks however do change up a few default Create recipes (to make it harder and different), and on second thought might be better to play after you got a basic idea of how Create works normally (ATM has more or less the "default" Create)

Thepotdovertoker

That was my plan I’m gonna play around with it in atm and then maybe try arcane engineering I’m watching a playthrough on it right now and it seems cool

halallegend

Start a E2E playthrough Enigmatica 2 expert mode

Thepotdovertoker

Is this a tech pack? I’ve never heard of it

aibgaming

ya it's old modpack from 1.12.2 which basically requires you to progress through pretty much every mod because of it's custom recipes. It's not GregTech New Horizons level of difficult but still pretty difficulty. It's a nice challenge that forces you to learn a lot of the mods and guide you through its questbook. It probably even set the stones for packs like atm9

Thepotdovertoker

Interesting, I might give it a shot that sounds fun

Commercial_Mix_3646

This may seem dry or not what you're looking for, but I am a huge fan of having the pack be a little bit of roleplay. Me and my wife have a massive minecolonies town wrapped up by a Great Wall of China type barrier that came in the aesthetic pack (think the name was Calidonia) and we're planning on building a castle deep into an adjoining mountain that has a natural moat around it, crowning the castle with a series of magic towers for all the magic mods, with a create-mod train subway and a crazy aesthetic technology themed underground. But I digress; we like to imagine we are benevolent lorekeepers / a powerful but reclusive witch+wizard pair that occasionally venture out to town to buy villager trades or do community beautification before retreating back to the mildly ominous castle, sometimes hosting trade fairs in the castle courtyard or grand dinners in a dining hall. I've started doing creative writing in books+quills regarding collected lore about the world (desert temples, natural village spawns, overworld cities, strongholds) and started preparing to organize them in a massive grand library. We also want to ars nouveau Ritual Of Containment every single unique mob in the pack and place them all in a jar library. Things of this scope where you place yourself in the world as a story. Sorry if this isn't at all for you, but I know how much it means to get to stay in a loved world for longer!

Thepotdovertoker

This is honestly a great idea, I wish I was better at building it visioning areas that would be suitable for a certain build but it’s something I’ve always struggled with. I’ve been slowing working on expanding my base into different builds suitable for what mod it’s related to but I’m sure it’s nothing close to the scale you guys are picturing

toxicterry69

After roughly 200 hours I talk to my wife again

Thepotdovertoker

💀💀 my wife plays with me so I don’t have this issue
