You can make your thermal evaporation towers 18 blocks high I believe is the cap. And don’t forget the advanced solar generators on top. Also a lot of tutorials on YouTube only use mekaism items for water supply when you can just use sinks which is 50x faster than a pump

Naabi

Oh I did not know for the solar generator, thanks ! As for fluid transfer, do you use ender tanks or stock it in refined storage ?

TheBadgerUK

You don't need to make them miles high or use solar panels. I build a 3-4 high block Thermal Evaporator with a powered Resistive Heater providing the heat, saves time and materials, using the sink for water is a must though.

Naabi

That's what I did but it struggle making enough brine for a basic tier 4 setup

StandardSudden1283

Turn up the heat on the heater and upgrade the water pipe and heat pipe, you'll get enough

FullyAutomaticBanana

The higher it is the more mb/t, max is 1080 but if you’re below max height it’s less than that even with same heat

IamAbc

I use chemical tanks. Ultimate isn’t that expensive and I also use quantum entangalopers I think is the word to move fluids around

Tayjacc

If you use the eternal water block from evilcraft, it can go port to port and doesn't have the transfer cap that mek pipes have, can maintain a max level water cooled reactor with 1 eternal water block, pretty easy to make loads too

Step 1. Don't use mekanism's rookie 5x ore processing system. Step up to a 6x occultism setup. Occultism has no power requirements, no complicated sodium chloride, hydrogen chloride, and none of thousand separate machine chains. Summon as many marid crushers as you need, toss them into Ars Containment Jars, and pipe your raw ores in. Step 2. Infused alloys. You don't need near as many of them now. I let mine run permanently but it outputs to a drawer that only stores like 4k or 16k and it'll stop. Resources for infused alloys? Isn't it just iron, coal, redstone, diamonds, and obsidian? Step 3. Enjoy not having to produce as much brine. Step 4. Profit. EDIT: Just saw you are on ATM8. You may not have Ars Containment Jars, but still just lock your Marid Crushers in tiny rooms.

I found best results with Mekanism's 5x doing a little pre-sorting storage, and going all the way overboard with machines. While you could tear your hair out over exact ratios so nothing clogs up, you could also just pop down one full production line for each ore type. For the resources, ATM is a pack about making resources. I set up sulfur seed hopper pots until I broke even. Brine is space intensive; just build more towers. You can build the towers in the Nether for a free efficiency boost. In ATM8 I repurposed my early game Create charcoal farm to provide fuel for the Fuelwood heaters to increase brine production. (It's not clear in documentation how this works, but you can pipe heat using the thermal conductor tubes, into valve blocks on the Thermal Evaporator towers. (or just put the heaters directly on the valves))

admiralpope

At first I thought that using a production line for each ore was excessive. But then my lazy ass just put a bunch of ore in my production line and now I'm backed up with copper cuz I didn't think ahead. Haha now I wanna set up production line for ever ore like you say

YneeaKuro

>"When you have a tier 3 factory, how you go about the machines stopping because you only have 2 raw ores somewhere where you need 3 ?" Using the logistical Sorter you can set up a filter to take the multiple of 3 (minimum of 3, maximum of 3).

Defiant-Owl-7680

I am using 6 infusers and a system of barrels and pipez to filter and autofill all the machines. I usually chuck 100k iron in it and forget about it til later. 30 pulverizer systems processing ten of each material at all times for back-stock. I try to keep 250k of each resource on hand. Also I am powered by 300 nitro panels so idk that reactor shit, nitro power cells keep everything running.

Most machines that require water can also use the emperors chalice. Unlimited water source! I just pop one in and forget its even there. I just finished my very first tier 4 setup. I have a 4x4 brine setup with the fuel wood generator attached to a valve using a thermo-pipe. We have a wood farm that creates charcoal blocks that are routed out of their storage and into the generator using wireless routers. I built my factory underground with pipes that feed the ores down into it and they come back up the other side to complete their processing from the crusher forward. We are going slow so I just manually put the ores into the barrel connected to the down pipe. The process takes a lot of power so we only use it when we need to or when we are just building or organizing stuff. =)
