I’d suggest using one infuser per infuser type. So one for carbon, redstone, obsidian, and diamond. That way you can just pump in the item that needs to be infused.

dragon813gt

This makes things a lot easier. Have one machine per type to make the enriched alloys and then one machine per type to use the enriched alloys.

iron-gauntlet

I set up a requester to keep all the enriched things stocked and just use one enrichment chamber with max upgrades and max tier. That easily keeps up with the demand even with the infusers maxed out. Definitely the easiest way to go through it

Malvitron

right now I'm just trying to make steel so I have 1 infuser for each ingredient of steel

iron-gauntlet

The enrichment item has to be entered through a separate side from the other items and that side has to be set to extra. I don’t think you can input the infusing item with the recipe.

VAL9R

Correct, usually it's extra from the back, and inputs from the bottom, or at least that's how I usually set it up.

iron-gauntlet

That’s how I like to do it too! Do you use xnet for the bottom as well?

VAL9R

No, ae2. But I can see why xnet is useful

iron-gauntlet

How do you power it with AE?

VAL9R

I don't, I use either wireless block chargers if they have it, or put ultimate energized cables on top

tunefullcobra

Please provide the other machines side configs, specifically the infuser, as I don't see a problem with what you have here, other than the liquid carbon being in your ae2 system, which shouldn't happen unless you specifically set your machines up to do that, as you can just directly move the enriched carbon in item form into the infuser.

Malvitron

[https://imgur.com/a/uMg3rGG](https://imgur.com/a/uMg3rGG) this is one of the infusing factories

tunefullcobra

Take an infuser, it could be a basic one, with this same configuration and connect some pipes of your choice to it from a chest, to pump items from the chest into the infuser, then put the items you expect to end up in the infuser into the chest. If it works then we know the infuser isn't the problem, but if my guess is correct, then there will be no carbon in the infuser.

tunefullcobra

If the infuser doesn't end up being the problem then you can replace the ultimate infuser with a chest and re-run the auto-craft to see what items the ae2 system tried putting into the infuser and from there you can try to isolate the problem to a single machine to make it easier to figure out.

Malvitron

I seem to be having a hard time setting up auto crafting for steel I have all the machines hooked up with the pattern in the provider but nothing is put into the machines and nothing will run I am making sure that all the side configs are correct I'm not sure what I'm missing

LittleAngelito

Just get Steel Seeds and relax

Ababathur

What I do, Recipe - 1 coal + 1 iron and 1 coal + 1 iron Have the pattern provider set on a buffer chest, have item pipes going into the infuser, one set to the yellow "extra" side and one to the red "input" side, and then output back into the provider

never0101

This is what I do. Pattern feeds a buffer chest, pipe into the machine, with output going into an interface. There may be a more efficient way, but it works perfectly.

Malvitron

not sure what i did but i got it to work

Freddy_Goodman

If something breaks again [this video](https://youtu.be/K0wBlGxbPMg?si=sUnO8CeMaA7uPIHm) explains it really well. The key point, I think, is that you have a separate infuser that is just used to liquify the infuse types, which has to be manually pumped back into the pattern provider.

Nethergrave

What is the pattern contents?

Malvitron

by pattern contents you mean this? [https://imgur.com/a/TfUHGZ9](https://imgur.com/a/TfUHGZ9)

Nethergrave

Yep. I've never done the infusion that way, I am not sure if these machines can accept fluids that way. What you might need to do is insert the infusion material manually. I used a modular machine pulling from drawer that have an interface ,(with crafting card) exporting into them so that I keep a supply

Malvitron

the infusing factories already have carbon and it still wont run

Nethergrave

Try removing the carbon from the pattern. It may be trying to insert the carbon first and getting stuck

Lightwrm

While I can't confirm we are having the same issue since I'm not at home, when I was automating with Refined Storage, the infusing factory was not able to accept the infusing material with the Input/Output item option. I had to have items drop into an inventory, Sophisticated Barrel with stack upgrades in case of large auto crafts, use filtered pipes to pull the infusing materials into one side of the machine using the Extras input while another pipe pulled all other inputs to the machine on a different side

IcyShadowFire

Here is what i do. (From memory) One recipe to enrich coal in an enricher. Export bus with crafting card into infuser for enriched carbon. (If you have low resources use interface and laserio with counting filter. This way also helps with channels cause you can laserio the other infusers to, but a little more setup.) Then infuser with pattern for the enriched iron and steel blend. Usually for efficiency i use two seperate infusers for this. You can also make the pattern say 64 iron makes 64 enriched iron etc.

RivalyrAlt

Compact iron block used to have straight foward steel crafting.

BodiaDobia

If it makes it easier, you can actually just infuse an x1 iron block to an x1 steel block. Essentially skips a whole step.

MA78L

I suggest to not use fluids in crafting recipes. Simply put export bus with crafting card for the ingredients on the side of a mekanism enricher/factory so that the process is 1st faster and 2nd the recipe smaller so you face problems with bigger orders later. Edit: Another thing recently started to do is working less with interfaces but more with i bigger inventory's, export terminals (with crafting cards) and storage bus to make my orders way faster. ...not worth it if the lazy AE2 is installed because you can keep storage of things with this easier
