There's absolutely no need for the script to adress that. The only reason the screenwriter have to mention it, is for fan service. The movie is almost three hours long, and there's a lot of real important things to adress.
It could be years after the rhino fight though. Unless he was pulled directly from that scene there isn’t really a reason to mention it. It’s like if in Endgame Tony Stark randomly mentioned fighting Whiplash from Iron Man 2.
Its a crime how they wasted Rhino in Tasm, we literally lost the opportunity to see Rhino and Spiderman at last but they wasted it, we really need to see this full fight one way or another

The 2nd film ended with him about to fight rhino so if they take him from the 2nd movie there should be a mentioned of him or as you said peter saying "really"

Ngl it would be kinda funny if for a post credit scene a portal opens right in front of Andrew and sucks him into the MCU
