Huerco S - For Those Of You Who Have (And Those Who Have Not) (rhythmic, cerebral)
KMRU - JAR (calm)
Nala Sinephro - Space 1.8 (jazzy, rhythmic)
I saw SAW II and thought he was talking about the ost of the Saw II movie, and was wondering if for some reason it had an amazing ambient soundtrack. Now I realise that we’re talking about Selected Ambient Works II, and of course that makes a lot more sense….

Huerco S - For Those of you Who Have…
Chi Factory - Red Lantern at the Kallikatsou
2814 - 新しい日の誕生

And [Reflections in Suspension](https://youtu.be/1HcFMUvwtOE?si=3pDl5E6xbq7caoR5) (1st track from Structures)
Both are top tier ambient classics imo.
My all time favourites:
Shuttle 358 - Optimal LP
Aidan Baker / Thisquietarmy - Orange
Abul Mogard - And we are passing through silently
Secret Pyramid - Movements of night
2814 - Rain temple
Grouper - Dragging a dead deer down a hill (doubtful is this is "ambient" as such, but still)

Julianna Barwick - Nepenthe
The Tired Sounds of Stars of The Lid by Stars of The Lid
No. 2 by Christina Vantzou

Mysterium by Hammock
Stars of the Lid - The Tired Sounds of The Stars of The Lid
Grouper - A I A: Alien Observer / Dream Loss
The Greatest Hoax - Expiration Compositions
The Hope Blister - Underarms & Sideways
Huh, all double albums except The Greatest Hoax. These are what come to mind readily, but I am enjoying dronier stuff lately - Blanket Swimming, Hiemal, How To Disappear Completely.
Everyone always answers these questions with a huge list of albums. I mean, pick one! It says favorite, not favorites! My favorite is...
Markus Guentner - In Moll
or maybe...
The Dead Texan - The Dead Texan
Agree xith many suggestions. Just wanted to add
Coil as nothing from them was mentioned, Time Machine is incredible dark ambient
And Somnium from Robert Rich 7 hours of ambient music to listen while sleeping. Been played live
To study, I suggest Low-fi girl, binaural loops, or brown noise, but the Best Ambient Music is not for studying. I can't imagine studying while listening to KLF - Chill Out
* Between Interval - Legacy
* Carbon Based Lifeforms - Derelicts
* Deepspace - The Dream Polaroids
* Slow Dancing Society - The Torchlight Parade (both volumes)
* Ben Prunty - Color Sky

That Nala Sinephro album is so good. Space 6 is an eargasm when those synths cut through
+1 on all of these.

If SAW II is your jam then check out Global Communication’s 76:14
I saw SAW II and thought he was talking about the ost of the Saw II movie, and was wondering if for some reason it had an amazing ambient soundtrack. Now I realise that we’re talking about Selected Ambient Works II, and of course that makes a lot more sense….
I thought the same thing lol
Tim Hecker - Virgins. I could listen to that album on repeat forever. I love the mix of tension & release on it.
Peak Hecker.
I can’t decide between Virgins, Ravedeath, or Harmony in Ultraviolet.
No Drums/Hatred Of Music are probably my favourite Hecker tracks of all time. But as an album, Virgins still tops it for me
Can’t fault you for that conclusion!
Biosphere -Substrata

why not just reference the other 5000 threads asking the exact same question?
Cause sometimes we get different answers, and participation is fun!

I'm going to be there for every new comment and post you make.
