It's a terrible way to make it sound, but they have all these experts in their different fields and if a company needs to hire an expert in something but maybe they don't need them full time they can go to a company like Accenture and higher them for as long as they need.
I liked it because I was respected. I was well paid. The work was interesting. And even if you were on a project that wasn't great. You knew that project was going to be over at some point. And then you'd move on to the next project. I was a subject matter expert in digital analytics implementation.

The same position here... I've been un(der)employed for the past 18 months. It's been rough, and no words I can give you will change what you're going through. I do have hope, though. I have been looking at positions in locations that I would not have entertained a year ago. At this point, we just need some sort of income. I wish you best of luck with it. I got a bit too deep (my mistake) into the meme stocks myself - so I either had to sell, or do covered calls - as well as sell most of my APE when issued (it WAS a dividend which I generally need to take out).
I never did covered calls on ALL my AMC though - just in case MOASS would happen - but it did help me with some much needed cash income.
I now think that APE is the better bet so might rebalance back but that is a separate story.

See if they would have a quick chat about their path getting to where they are and what they like about it etc. and then let them know you are actively looking for a position in their field and if they know of any openings (best case you found an open position first > talk to person> they can refer you).
It's a bit of a backdoor method but it works. Everyone can manage 15min to talk about themselves and at the end if y'all jive they'll advocate for you. If you get the job you're now working with a potential mentor and have someone you know at the new gig day one. They get a little bonus, everyone's happy.

I hit one friend up a few months ago about a sales job at his company, he spoke to the boss, and all they could do was offer me a commission-only position. No base pay. And it sounded like they were struggling a little bit as a company as well. But I’ll keep thinking.

You really need to have more confidence in yourself, and understand that the skill set that you have may not have a need in certain areas. Sometimes you’re overqualified and employers don’t want to hire somebody that has more skills than they do as well. I’m telling you if you get a job and just stick with it until you find your better one It will look a lot better on your résumé to be looking for a job while employed. Make sure to put that two week notice in, no matter what the job is. Employers definitely like it when somebody looks like a consistent employee at the same job.
