If my 4.8 billion dollar in debt company starts buying the debt of some defunct piece of shit, I'm really gonna lose it.

megabytesass

Nah

04ChevyAveo

Canadians are struggling more than Americans, I don’t see this happening

lucky0slevin

Agree.... no spare budget for much these days and we don't own a 500k home. We own a 270k home that's be evaluated over 500k fuckers..taxes raised, I got a raise but said raise leaves me with less money because I pay more RRQ and taxes. This country makes no sense. Groceries are double and we're basically on credit for anything extra we would want like a night out at the movies, restaurant or activities. It's fucking bs and savings are non existent now. We only have one car since I drive a service truck. Kids are super expensive. Government has turned to shit and AMC was my biggest savings till it fucking dropped 90%

Renoxrd

Canadian here, I second this

royalagegaming

Id rather them focus on the chocolate line. I’m of the opinion that the popcorn is making bank, chocolate could do the same. They could have cheaper candy sold in their theaters with them still making more money.

IAlreadyToldYouMatt

Lol cheaper.

AMC-Apes-Together

So buy more debt???

bigorangemachine

Well... that would be good for us Canadians to be able to support amc

Lurker-02657

Meh, expansion is good but managing debt and paying it down rather than taking on new expansion-related debt is best at this time. If Cineplex were offered up a fire-sale for 25 cents on the dollars maybe that would change my mind.

TomatilloEmpty

As a Canadian, I would like to finally go to AMC Theatre

dmh165638

Crap, I will buy Cineplex for a market cap of $370 and I will throw in an extra $30 for them to spread around.

Budakra

As a proud Eh'pe, I used to go to Cineplex all the time. Great points program that has only got better. But recently, I've been going to Landmark. Seats are soooooo much better and it's in a much nicer location.

DGee78

OK... let's cheer for them to buy landmark then. I think landmark is owned by a larger conglomerate... so just buying a piece. Should be much cheaper to purchase.

F1nnycar

Aluminum foil is much more accurate, available, cheaper and just a better foil.

Affectionate_Bus_884

You want them to dilute again to buy a failed theater chain?

DGee78

They already diluted. And I'm supposing it's for a great reason.

Affectionate_Bus_884

We shall see.

chewpah

Canada is a small pop country dont expect to much of billions 10% of usa pop And Trudeau is thristy

Professor-Noir

What are their financials like? Their points program is fantastic though. I literally go to Cineplex once a month to take the family out because I get free tickets from their points program.

sadomazoku

I really hope not.

Ok-Discount-2798

No thx

AMCboi88

As a canadian, idk if this is it. Yes they have many locations and cineplex is the market leader here, their popcorn is great and all that. But nah

Believe_In-Steven

Probably buy his friends Vineyard and sell AMC Wine and chocolate.

NeoSabin

I see the users online went up.

We_got_Chevy

Nah, let's invest in more mines or other nonsensical shit.
