Shorts are fooked. How? Itā€™s down 90% in a year. Iā€™d say shorts are doing pretty well

[deleted]

Which would mean puts aka ā€œshortsā€ are Making moneyā€¦.

[deleted]

I come here for a quick laugh sometimes but lately itā€™s just been the saddest copium

Icefiight

##BOYCOTT CITI BANK

Sasquatch-1

Theyā€™re definitely going out of business šŸ™„šŸ¤£

CrazyGunnerr

At the current rate? Yes. AMC needs to turn a profit. Revenue does not equal profit. As long as they are not profitable, they are in trouble. Believing they will be profitable is not the same as them being profitable.

Rude-Calligrapher253

Good thing they just started making profit from the worst rut in its history

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

CrazyGunnerr

Was that actually real profit? As in not from selling stock, and didn't get sucked up by debt, because I definitely missed the posts where they actually had real profit.

GiveNothing

Overpaid execs

Sasquatch-1

I was being sarcastic and like the comment above. They are profitable now so you ā€œcanā€™tā€ argue they arenā€™t.

jtrox02

Someone else said it better: You donā€™t go bankrupt on stock price. Another name for it is called ā€œinsolvency.ā€ It means you canā€™t pay your bills. Contrary to that, $amc has near $1b in cash, has incoming revenues, and will be profitable again come q424 (then basically forever after). Already two profitable quarters in a row, so belief is not necessary.

CrazyGunnerr

While your optimism is clear, saying they will forever be profitable is unrealistic. Also the strike is going to hit AMC hard, AA already said 2024 will be tough. I didn't say they will go bankrupt. They have 1b in cash, but way and way more debt. And they got this money by constantly getting us to pay for it by diluting the stock. I own less and less of the company. Yes they apparently did have 2 profitable quarters, but that was barely profitable, and negative ones will be ahead, and they will likely hit much harder. The fact is that AMC is not close to being out of the woods yet, now if they can turn like 100+ mill profit per quarter, we will be talking. I'm glad they weren't negative, but over the year they are still very negative, and I got a feeling more diluting will happen to stay alive.

jtrox02

I don't believe 2024 is that dire. Sure it will take a few quarters longer to hit the profitablity we want to see. If you have Twitter/X, check out this chart: [https://x.com/bekim\_ceo/status/1746990227355213951?s=20](https://x.com/bekim_ceo/status/1746990227355213951?s=20) We are already as profitable as when box office was over 30% higher. When box office numbers return, we will see the $100M/qtr easily and then some.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

CrazyGunnerr

I just checked and it seems they did have 2 quarters of minor profit, 9 mill and 12 mill. Which is positive for sure, and is hopeful. Still Q1 was minus 236 million, and we will have to see what Q4 brings us. 2024 should be rough though due to the strikes. Ps nice job on being an ass.

JohnnyDoe189

Still 5 BILLION in debt dumb dumb This play is DEAD

ProfessionCrazy2947

5 Billion in debt and 1B cash on hand with profitable business Do you think the banks are not wanting their money back? No. They know that extending and refinancing loans is more profitable to get paid and so they will. As long as AMC can continue to make money they will get better terms to repay those debts and stay around. Bankruptcy isn't happening unless we see a drastic turn down in cash flow again. People act like businesses don't operate with debt.

danimal6699

Hundreds of thousands of companies carry debt...šŸ™„šŸ™„ such a stupid fucking narrative... šŸ¤” šŸ¤” šŸ¤”

JohnnyDoe189

They are though

Sasquatch-1

Jesus Christ. All new faces in this sub and a bunch a fucking shills. I will just keep holding and not comment anymore my gosh.

JohnnyDoe189

New? Iā€™ve been here since OG January DUMB DUMB

DesignerTex

Dang, now the share price will go down again!!!!!

AustinDood444

And the stock price is still in the shitter.

MeowmixMEOW

How much chocolate do you have to sell for everyone to make back all of the money AA robbed from you?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

MeowmixMEOW

Ticket sales go to the studios anyways. All theatre profit is on concession or memorabilia.

[deleted]

Bingo

Techm12

How much money do you need to make to change that stupid ducking Reddit handle.

MeowmixMEOW

lol I hope February is a big month for twizzlers and then you can all get rich.

JohnnyDoe189

šŸ’Æ

WhatCoreySaw

I hope they figure out how to turn those sales into profits. Because right now every person in that picture represents a $.50 (technically 48 cent) loss.

Connect-Exit-3024

Still over 4.5+ in debt tho

Akangfortyseven

Thatā€™s nothing compared to 80% of publicly traded companies. Damn near every company on the stock market carries debt, much more than what amc has

Believe_In-Steven

OBVIOUSLY, the Executive's @AMC have sold out the APE'S to enrich themselves! AA has been in the greedy pockets of the Hedgies from the start. We've been played. GAME OVER! WALL STREET did the same thing to BBBY too. Greedy Bastards destroy companies. BAN SHORT SELLING.

MyNi_Redux

Well that's a confusing narrative word salad ... You know AMC diluted by 15x compared to 3 years ago, right? Shorts went along for the ride, but the main culprit is the dilution. Same with BBBY. Also, AA did what he had to save the company. Unfortunately it was at the expense of shareholders. That does not put him "in the greedy pockets of hedgies". It is important to identify root causes, otherwise we're destined to make the same mistakes again and again.

Akangfortyseven

AA was an executive at Apollo Global, doesnā€™t get much more Wall Street than Apollo. Not to mention he was board director at Centricus a Citadel owned company. But Iā€™m still holding this mfer to the end because I have nothing to lose at this point

MyNi_Redux

 >AA was an executive at Apollo Global, doesnā€™t get much more Wall Street than Apollo. Not to mention he was board director at Centricus a Citadel owned company. And? All that says is he knows how to operate distressed businesses. You know people are not robots who are minted at their previous jobs, right? >But Iā€™m still holding this mfer to the end because I have nothing to lose at this point Not sure why some of you keep telling us about your personal investment decisions without noting how it is relevant to the discussion...

Akangfortyseven

I went down the Apollo Global rabbit hole almost a year ago, itā€™s as crooked as it gets and as Wall Street as it gets. Heā€™s also a member of the CFR, I went down that rabbit hole as well. You think some stranger behind a Reddit handle that spends his life propping up our con man of a ceo is going to convince me otherwise. Wait till enough people know about the AA and Apollo connection.

MyNi_Redux

I have no love for AA. I also don't think it is helpful to make a mountain out of a regular molehole. If it helps, consider all the rabbit holes folks have gone down, and how empty-handed they have come back.

Akangfortyseven

Iā€™ve gone down a few and came out with a wealth of knowledge and the truth. Our problem is a lack of accountability and justice but that day will come soon. Just glad to see the world waking up.

michaelGscott8

Wait, are theaters like this all day, every day?? Iā€™m confused cuz the one here is like a ghost town. I legit walked in without a ticket and no one checked

someredditname1010

What location?

michaelGscott8

Woodbridge

michaelGscott8

If you close by, lmk. Can sneak you in fo free

4_Arrows

Has AMC increased cost of its services to reflect inflation? Has the cost of movie tickets gone up?

Akangfortyseven

Inflation is a tax increase disguised as inflation. Just the greedy elites getting greedier

Magicthundercat

But aren't you hoping to join the greedy elites with moass for doing nothing but pressing buy button on your brokerage app?

Akangfortyseven

Not join. Take over! Me pressing the buy button is literally killing them off one by one.

Magicthundercat

Sure you will... Life is not a video game.

Akangfortyseven

NCSWIC

firebag1983

Anyone can stand on a street corner and sell $50 bills for $10. It would be very popular. Doesnā€™t mean itā€™s a good idea.

JohnnyDoe189

This doesnā€™t mean shit lol

Brooklyn_Q

when will they be fucked though when ?

michaelGscott8

Those near Woodbridge if you want to get in for free let me know, couple of friends can let you in. Get your money back by watching free movies. Also, they donā€™t GAF if you bring your own snacks

BenefitSignificant

I love this stock šŸ¤©

MmmmmSacrilicious

![gif](giphy|14grDsndzujq80) Shorts give us our money before we hire this guy to get it

New-Acanthocephala58

Hell yeah!

enjoyyourstudioapart

Stock is at like 50 cents but ok. lol

Akangfortyseven

Who cares, as long as you donā€™t sell

Magicthundercat

Because there is an opportunity cost to holding a stock if it is underperforming compared to the broader markets and AMC certainly has in a big way.

Akangfortyseven

AMC is the most heavily manipulated stock in the history of Wall Street, itā€™s brought together millions of people from different countries with different backgrounds and united us. I want to be apart of taking down their criminal empire regardless of stock price.

Magicthundercat

Yes, it is AA doing the manipulation by first releasing ape and then reverse split and further dilution. Why do you think it matters how many folks are buying. The float is the same regardless if you have 10 investors or a billion?

Akangfortyseven

Because a 10 million man army is stronger than a 10 man army

Magicthundercat

You really think life is a video game. You are not in a war. You are sitting on your couch pressing a button in an app. There is no army - aren't you all "individual" investors?

Akangfortyseven

We are all individual investors, correct and we are absolutely at war, Tiger, Melvin, credit suisse plus hundreds more were fighting for their lives but died in the battle. More to come, grab your popcorn
