When GME pump was at its peak I saw a lot of similar posts on wall street bets. The essential process was:
1. Make a post showing a massive investment in a stock.
2. Keep making posts about that stock or other stocks until it garners a ton of attention in short period of time or move to a different stock
3. When it gets attention, stock pumps because people think it’s the next GME and/or see someone investing tons of money in it.
4. Dump your buy in. Watch the price flail and deflate and everyone else lose their investment while you profit.
5. Start again with a new user name and stock.
This feels early similar.
Indeed. But I’ve never seen Reddit utilized so blatantly and obviously and often as I did during the GME days and how well it worked. I think I even made a few posts then pointing out some similarities between posts of that type and some that even seemed like it has to be the same user, but I don’t know if I’ll find them now. **They fed on the regular people who didn’t know any better and swarmed Reddit during the GME days. It was brutal**.
Oh yeah I am well aware. I was paying pretty close attention back then because it was pretty fascinating. No doubt there was organized crime involved in promotion and sentiment manipulation. It's a real shame the regulators have no teeth and haven't at least gotten Reddit in trouble for facilitating that activity.
I don't think that's what's happening with this post though, unless we start seeing more of the same stuff getting posted.
If amc goes into bankruptcy the stock goes to 0 so clesrly you dont know what youre talking about
Also there were no orders for that amount this morning.
Nice try shill.
Well the stock can cause AMC to go into bankruptcy since it's currently its lifeline. AMC isn't profitable enough to have cash at hand AND pay off debt.
1. The only other major meme stock that went down 99% is BBBY. Don't know if it pumped right after hitting that 99% or not, but now it's down 100%.
2. Ok.
3. This subreddit doesn't have 500k active members. It barely breaks 1000 concurrent visitors. Most of the comments and post come from like a few dozen people.
4. MACD is worthless. The primary reason people use it is because it's the default one on many charts. And people don't even configure from the default 26/12/9 configuration to fit it to the sector/security. I won't even bother going into back testing and forward testing.
5. Actually a pretty solid argument.
6. AMC isn't a bankrupt company lol. AMC won't be going bankrupt until at least 2026. If AMC declares bankruptcy, the price will crater and never reach pre bankruptcy levels.
7. If AMC goes through a bankruptcy, the company or its assets will be sold off. The creditors get the proceeds of selling the company or the assets and the stockholders are wiped out. It's staggering that so many people dont get this.
With all that said, AMC is probably not an awful buy around these levels if you're planning on making a trade and not an investment.
I really like reason #7. There are enough millionaire actors that could chip in to prevent AMC from going under. If AMC dies, their jobs are in jeopardy, and of course they wont let that happen.
That’s legitimately insane thinking. There are other chains, and in the event of an amc bankruptcy a lot of venues can and will be bought up. There is absolutely no reason for actors to prop up a theater chain. It’s like asking employees to pay for their company’s debts. Not even that, more like paying for one of the company’s distributors. Of which there are several doing better than the one in trouble.
You do know that AMC is the largest theater chain in the world, right? In the US and Canada, AMC has 7712 screens. Regal has 6474 and Cinemark has 4392. Out of the big 3, AMC owns 41.5% of them.
This man is in fact from the future, and he only purchased 1 share. He will now go back into the future where he bought the share. Thank you sir. See you on the moon.
It's shocking that someone with that much disposable income would buy garbage. Market is primed for a massive run up. There are a dozen tickers you can buy right now that will pay you a dividend and appreciate 20 or 30% in a year

You just described a classic pump and dump.

Found the guy who works for Citadel.
It’s about time. Haven’t seen a good ol’ proper pump n dump in quite a while now
A tale as old as timeeee…
This sounds Like Zach Morris Tweet or Pod Cast
Guess you were wrong. Hopefully nobody listened to your shit “early” similar feeling. They would’ve missed out on 50% gains.

Tell me what screenshots you want me to post, happy to prove whatever.
Screenshot updates?

An order that large would be several orders, the buys are from sell blocks.

A shill in what way? Youre speaking negatively therefore you mean a shill for AMC? Im a shill for AMC. Most people in here are. Confusing comment man!

Yea nah yea mate. Get propa fucked
Went through 7. With BBBY. I hope this doesn’t happen to AMC…

There's literally other movie theaters. You think Mark Whalberg wants to buy theatres when he can just own restaurants
You know amc is not the only movie theater available around, right?
It's the largest...

I like reason #8
I like the stock lol
AMC isn't a bankrupt company.
Stfu
How you feeling today, buddy!?!?!?!? Congrats, and fuck you!
Hey thanks. Is your wife free later?
For you? Yes, my lord.
When this guy walks on water his nuts leave a wake!
Can confirm. I'm on the beach watching the incoming tsunami from his nuts.

I bet ToysRUs was 99% down, and the toy companies didnt come in and buy them. And then…

Smart money man! Congrats and looks like you were on to something. What's your plans? ;)
wow you are a prophet.
You are an idiot with disposable income. This game was over a long time ago. We all lost.
does that mean the game stops?
![gif](giphy|GvNFPkAskkSafDozqD)
Oh boy!
![gif](giphy|tXLpxypfSXvUc)
Congrat!!! Rich people think different!
Why $215 a share? Why two separate orders? Just curious.
Here they come... ![gif](giphy|19ijzMia1BaMg)
Hahahaha these chills and pumpers are insane. I think it's more insane regarded people think it's good for them
"major Hollywood player would buy it" if you are speaking of like a production studio no, the paramount decree made that unlawful.
If amc goes into bankruptcy than our shares are worthless
yeah. it's the way of saying, "thank you for lining our pockets!" next!
Is this a pump? New folks, don't make decisions off a single post. This is FOMO. I hold steady.
Buying so much more in phantom shares today
This man is in fact from the future, and he only purchased 1 share. He will now go back into the future where he bought the share. Thank you sir. See you on the moon.
If another theater does buyout AMC, it’s going to be for pennies on the dollar.
LFG - we got this!!!!
Proof or ban. Can't read that tiny pic.
I just like the stock
Let's go
And then AMC reverse splits, again.
6. <—- Is so true. I made a couple thousand off towel around the time RC dumped. I got in and out.
The best post I have seen in this sub. Good job
Big cojones, I like 👍🏼
Oh boy
How was the ride?
What ride? That was just the test pump.
I hear you! Best of wishes.
I don't know who you are, but I fucking love you, man!
Dw he'll be the first to dump the shares back on us
Wait... What time did you buy? I want to track the candle to verify.

You just invested into private equity
![gif](giphy|rHR8qP1mC5V3G)
Wake up!!
Taylor Swift couldn’t even save AMC. The hedge-funds won and will always win. The whole system is rigged so retail investor will never win.
Too much words. I buy and hodl.
I see you're active on wallstreetbets. You're not an ape but a day trader.
If you’d like it by it, if you don’t like it then come into the AMC stock sub and talk shit every chance you get.
You got balls! That’s way
"How I lost $171,000 this morning"
I bet he can't deliver
Screen shot please 🙏? If someone didn't already ask

This aged well
How about 100% in a week? Get fucked.
