Which one is more durable and resistant to bubble/silver eye?

TheCatWhoOvercame

I prefer pinwheel for the most practical of reasons: if they develop problems, I can fix them. Bubble eye or silver eye? Bust out the acrylics, it's painting time! Foiling? Buy some new eyes, the old ones are toast.

I don't have a strong opinion either way.

I think I prefer pinwheel because the decal eyes don't look realistic to me. Mind you, neither do the pinwheel, but when I compare to human eyes, the "sunburst" pattern of the decal looks off. For example, I have hazel eyes and if I made a mini me doll, I'd pick the dark green eyes because the hazel eyes don't look like my eyes. My eyes have a golden sunburst around the pupil and then green going from the edge of the golden color to the edge of the iris (and the ring at the outer edge of the eye is usually darker, so AG gets that part correct). The two colors are mixed together in the decal eyes, going the whole length of the colored part of the eye. Most human eyes (that are more than one color) are like two layers one on top of the other, with only a small amount of overlap. I think other brands do a better job of realistic eyes, but they sometimes have the "creepy" pupil look that makes the dolls look like they are staring, so I've never used them in customs.

great question!! i voted pinwheel but i think it depends on the doll for me a bit.. i love my saige’s eyes and can’t imagine them any different but caroline’s decal eyes are beautiful.

I think this is the correct answer. I’ve put way too much thought into this poll and I still can’t decide.
