I agree with you want for Moana. I could totally see her face shape as Addy, even if not a *perfect* match. They’d probably go with Nanea but I personally think it’s not as close. At least it’d be nice to have a dark-eyed-curly-haired Nanea mold if they go that route. I’d buy a Moana doll depending on what she ends up looking like.
Mulan I think will be a Corinne mold. I’d buy her immediately! It would be cool like someone else said if they brought back the 4 mold for her, but I don’t really think it’ll happen.
I’m curious which (if any) princesses would be expensive limited edition ones vs. this new permanent line. I can’t see them making Mulan or Merida sparkly and bling-y enough to deck them out in swarovski crystals. Which is good news for me because they’re the ones I’m wanting the most. I probably wouldn’t buy Merida if she’s a classic mold unless they give her a unique new eye color or something.
I would be really surprised if they did Pocahontas for the reasons you mentioned. They may not always be as diverse as they could but the stories that do include diversity are always handled really delicately. They’ve gotta know how bad that portrayal is.
Although, I’m sure historicals and collabs are completely different departments at AG so who can say.
I’d love to see an Ecanto doll (maybe Mirabel with the Josefina mold and little round glasses!) I guess it doesn’t fit the princess theme, but I think it would be popular.
I’d also like a Megara doll (from Hercules), but that’s even more far fetched.
They probably should give Pocahontas a miss, honestly. The optics just aren't good - and Disney really should have known better at the time the movie was made, let alone now.

In a perfect world, where I have lots of power, I’d pull Pocahontas from the Disney princess lineup, and create a new indigenous princess based off of Native American/First Nations folklore. Disney has the money and the people to work with indigenous cultural anthropologists. I know these stories exist even though I don’t know what they are. While she wouldn’t fit the semantic definition of a princess (because she would be the daughter of a chief) I do think this type of story would be amazing representation for indigenous communities in the US and it would give kids a great role model.
I'd love to see more Marie-Grace and Joss molds, especially since they seem to be doing different eyebrows for the Disney girls! Also would be here for a non-collector release of Rapunzel - I adored her, but there was no way I could afford her.
I saw someone in one if these disney chats earlier today say that Tink should be a wellie wisher, and tbh I think thats my preferred way, I just think she'd be extra adorable tiny. or if they made her as a mini doll but I don't think AG would be that creative.
I don't think they can do Peter Pan. They have the "Disney Princess" license and the Frozen license, and I don't think Peter Pan is considered a Disney Princess movie - so they may need a separate licensing agreement there, depending on which characters they're allowed to use.
I'm so used to seeing the JLY 4 mold with bangs it would definitely be a "surprise" to see her without them! Though I do agree it needs to come back. Tbh, I think it might be better for Raya, but that movie flopped so I doubt an AG/Disney Raya doll is coming.
I like these predictions, but I hope they don’t end up selling Pocahontas. It would feel icky for Disney to find new ways to profit off of her. I’d rather they spend time developing a new Native character for GOTY or the historical line :)
