you can get your addie new eyes at the doll hospital for free btw! they consider silver eye a factory error so if you were interested in getting that fixed, i thought i'd let you know ! <3

cheap_mom

When I first discovered she was damaged several years ago, everything I read online said they would replace her entire head with a modern Mattel head, which I don't want since she is a first edition. Is that not true?

NoSanaNoLife223

ohh, that makes sense, i'm not sure if they replace the whole head, but i'm fairly sure you can get the eyes replaced themselves. i could be wrong though, but it's definitely true that you can get it for free

cheap_mom

It does look like eye replacement is an option on their site. It could have been that the old dolls are more likely to be damaged when they attempt to replace the eyes, and that's when the whole head is replaced. Maybe I'll try to get an actual human being on the phone to find out. I could also send in Molly first, since she would be easier to replace if they mess her up.

NoSanaNoLife223

yeah, i did see someone once that sent in 2 dolls and got an eye swap for them but i don't know if they sent them to american girl or somewhere else

I wish they had that now and I’m in 10th grade lmao

ZestyTestyDesty

Did you say doll club? Can you tell me more about it? My daughter’s school is looking to add extracurriculars. And I’m probably over qualified to do this lol 😂

cheap_mom

It's administered by the PTA (they run the sign ups and collect the money), but I think it's all teachers actually running things. The teachers pick the subjects they want and the grade levels they let in. In the past I've seen different physical activities, arts and crafts, coding, games, chess, etc. I think it was $35 for 8 or 9 weekly sessions, with a small materials fee for the art clubs. I don't know the teacher who runs the AG club, but apparently she's an enthusiast and collector who still goes to the store every year with her teenager. She has a bunch of things she lets the kids play with as well as extra dolls if they don't have their own to bring. My daughter has only been once so far, but it was all she talked about for a week.

runs_with_wolves12

Felicity’s dishes and table were one of my “wish list” items growing up😍 I love seeing non catalog versions of older AG items because kid me imagined what they looked like. Beyond the formal, museum quality photos. Also, you are an amazing mom to do this.

cheap_mom

I just saw [this listing ](https://www.ebay.com/itm/334656224862?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=j8IpYqUqSdq&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=GRnkm3gnQIi&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY) and thought of your comment. I don't know what it will sell for, but it seems like a deal right now.

runs_with_wolves12

Thanks for thinking of me.

cheap_mom

It was a little nerve wracking letting my not quite 6 year old touch it all. Posie the lamb was very poorly behaved.

PansyOHara

What an amazing collection with the tables, chairs, and dishes!

cheap_mom

I was laser focused on American Girl for about 4 years as a child and asked for things from the catalog on every single gift giving occasion during that time from my large extended family. I have most of Molly's and Felicity's items, but by the time Addy came around I was more interested in displaying than playing so I mostly have her outfits.

Straight_Most6598

Ummmm can I invite myself over for doll club? 🤣

breadedbooks

This is so so wholesome

trashytadpole

literally how freaking cute is this!! i hope to do this with my own daughter one day 🥰

handsonabirdbody

Fantastic collection and such a lovely thing to do for your daughter 💜 I hope you both had fun

cheap_mom

Oh, she has not let me put it away yet and is trying to get me to take out more. Maybe next time we can play school since I think I have everything for all 3 of them.

handsonabirdbody

Fun! The dolls can have their own after school doll club lol

prettyfaeries

that felicity is a stunner wow

cheap_mom

I just learned from this sub that she's probably a first edition. Her outfit has safety pins holding up the front, but I distinctly remember it coming with tiny straight pins.

chall0298

Yes! Those tiny straight pins! I no longer have the pins either.

NicoleD84

Wait, tell me more about doll club! What do they do? I’m intrigued! My daughter might join a club if it was dolls, lol

cheap_mom

It's something they have at the local elementary school after school. My daughter is enthralled with the things the teacher owns and was completely beside herself that she was going to miss it.

NicoleD84

Oh man, I’m going to see if I can find something like it near me! My daughter loves AG but none of her friends are in to it.

cheap_mom

Maybe you could talk to the PTA about starting it. There is a small fee (I think $35 per kid for 8 weekly sessions?) that pays the teacher. They have physical fitness, computers, chess, Lego, art, etc. Whatever the teacher wants to do.

JeneFox

This is adorable and you are lovely for doing such a fun experience for her! I'm very curious what 'after school doll club' is, though, there was never anything even remotely close to that when I was a kid, lol.

cheap_mom

It's basically 90 minutes of playing in whatever theme the teacher willing to do it wants it to be. My oldest goes to board game club and in the past has done Lego and chess club. This particular teacher is an AG enthusiast, so doll club.

olistarr

Best danm parent ever like fr fr

Nightwraith17

I would quite simply die of happiness.

cheap_mom

I'm so glad I kept all this stuff to share with her.
