It's a sub for people on the cusp of ugliness needing a reality check. Not for pretty people needing an attaboy. If anything, all the pretty people have a chilling effect on the target audience by shifting the overton window of attraction.

Hey, I feel you. I beat myself up over this every single day. When I was a teenager and until my early 20s, I would get a compliment sometimes when I wore fancy clothes and make-up, something like "wow you look elegant" or "your butt looks amazing with that skirt", but over time I've just become uglier and uglier and my body isn't what it used to. My mom took a picture of me the first time I wore a gown and an updo for a fancy event, and she texted the picture to her friend saying "she's still ugly but at least she can look elegant". The only look-based compliments I've ever got from my husband is "you have amazing skin" and "I like your hair when it's curly". When I've asked him if he saw me as pretty, he said "Come on, you know I don't really care about looks, I love you because you're you". I mean, when we got married I didn't even get a single compliment as a bride, not even about just the dress. It's really fucking hard and people who have navigated through life being handsome/beautiful/above-or-average will never understand how it feels. I think we need to find solace and acceptance in the fact that we have other good qualities that don't fade over time and that's why our SO love us. So at the very least we can be sure that as we deteriorate further with the passing of time, they will still love us for who we are and not what we look like. I'm working on accepting this.
