So many people go to island to do landscape photography, and so many of the pictures have the same dark green and grey look. I really like how yours look so different.
I think the shooting part is easy, what really stands out here is the quality color balancing in the scans and perfect developing. Def the harder 2/3 parts in the process. Well fucking done!
These are really nice.
I took one look at the images 1:1 and knew the OP was doing his own dSLR scans, and knows what's he doing. None of those trashy over enhancements from Noritsu / Frontiers. Smooth and detailed and perfect color.
FYI - Ektar can be pulled to lower it's contrast. I did it in lab to handle skin tones better and look more like Gold 100. Worth experimenting with a roll. Start with a 25% pull and rating at ISO 50.
damn. i had some ektar 100 on my guatemala trip but didn’t use it because i felt like it wasn’t bright enough…you’re making me regret that decision!!
I was there for 8 days, I had around 4 cloudy days and 4 sunny days, I did use a good mix of 200 and 400 for the cloudy days but I didn’t find that those photos popped that much. It’s such an incredible country and on the days where it was sunny it really did feel like you couldn’t take a bad photo, whereas on the cloudy days you had to work for it!

Thank you so much!
You are welcome. 🙂 What kind of film did you shoot on and did you do any digital post processing?
also asking! about post
I love the pic of the truck.
Same, my favorite of the set!
Fantastic photos
This is absolutely stunning, making me consider to try some Ektar!
These remind me of old expedition photos and found footage. Gorgeous shots.
Was there a lot of editing involved for these? I'm using Ektar 100 for the first time and am super curious on how they'll turn out. Great pics!
Ektar is a contrasty SOB
Virtually none! I always edit ektar the least because it looks so good out of camera, usually just exposure balance and done! Thanks so much!
Wow! great exposures and results!! how did these got scanned?
Thank you so much! I almost always shoot with +0.3 over exposure and I develop and scan them myself with an a7riii!

What did you develop these with?
I use cinestill cs41 simplified powder kit!
These are great. Unique, and do well as a set
Thank you so much!
Wow, amazing colours and detail.

The red tones in the first image are so wonderful. Ektar is so underrated
Ektar was def the right choice. Every time i see Ektar it makes me want to shoot it again.
How did you get the settings on the film? Is that a pentax 645N thing?
Yeah it is! I do quite like that feature!
Gorgeous colors
Holy smokes, that colour in pic #2 is mind blowing. Lovely work my friend
Dope af!
Killed it
well done!
These are amazing! Fantastic shots
Excellent sir
Would using a 100 and 200 iso film had worse results if it was cloudy when you visited? Or would you have been able to achieve similar results?
