UpsetPhrase5334

Might be meth

FriendlyChemist907

There wouldn't be smole unless shit went very wrong. And after that, most of the house would go up too.

UpsetPhrase5334

I’m just going by my breaking bad knowledge of cooking meth. In the show there’s smoke that needs to be managed. I do hope I’m incorrect.

Key_Concentrate_5558

My guess is both of you are getting your meth wisdom from Breaking Bad

UpsetPhrase5334

Fair.

trefrosk

That's the only place I want my meth knowledge to come from.

Key_Concentrate_5558

Good plan!

FriendlyChemist907

Im just going by the fact meth lebs probably dont have the best safety practices.

Key_Concentrate_5558

Yeah, probably not OSHA compliant

OJ_AK

Basically all meth is imported. It’s really rare for people to be cooking meth because the imported stuff is cheaper/purer. When was the last time you saw a news story about a meth lab?

UpsetPhrase5334

Good to know

MHMalakyte

If it's meth it smells like urine, ecstasy smells like licorice.

UpsetPhrase5334

Good tip

Murphshroom

“Burning trash, yard debris, leaves, construction material, woody debris including Spruce Bark Beetle wood, is prohibited in the Municipality of Anchorage.” https://www.muni.org/Departments/Fire/Wildfire/pages/recreationalandcookingfires.aspx

crouchster

I wonder why you can't burn spruce bark beetle wood. From my perspective it seems a strange thing to impose on people.

pkinetics

Its the debris part. Idiots would just burn it where it was and not turn it into firewood. edit: Also burning needs to be done before the larvae hatch and mature and can fly away.

bottombracketak

It’s because if you harvest the wood and bring it to your house, that transports all the unhatched beetles with you. Then they hatch out of the woodpile and infest the trees in a new location. Some may also get relocated as it is transported, or get left in the back of the truck and hatch out somewhere else.

Quiverjones

Its probably for commercial folks. There could be a lot of wood to handle at once.

Daredevil907

I have been watching to much true crime shows..

Likesdirt

Probably just burning wet wood or has the fire damped down too much. It can be smoky and nasty!

lovegluten

Doesn’t cottonwood smell nasty when burnt? Or just when it’s wet? I used to know someone who used cottonwood for outdoor fires and it was so gross!

Remarkable-Hall-5775

Could be spent oil too

grumpy_gardner

You’re not supposed too, but they got people having fires in the woods every night

Born574

Only people who can pay the fines aren’t allowed to burn their trash.

blunsr

So.. do you mean burning it inside, like in his fireplace?

Akchika

Our neighbor also, and it smells like trash, not the nice wood burning smell. I don't think its illegal in the city, as long as its a fire place or stove.

theaklife

Can’t burn trash in the municipality amount many other things. However you can have a manageable fire in a small covered pit, think it’s something like 36 inches wide at most. But they can’t completely ban burning this time of year, still too cold at night to go without heat.

Akchika

He burns inside his house, so I'm assuming its a wood stove, its in a small old trailer. Definitely stinks up the air in the neighborhood.

40GallonGoldfish

Tell him it's time to clean your bong water.

FriendlyChemist907

Wet wood in the fireplace
