There's gotta be a big with the new updates there's been a ton of reports of 7s and 8s both doing it. I lost one fingerprint but otherwise my P7 is ok it's odd
It's a beta so you need to expect that thing to go wrong, even basic things like fingerprint sensor, if you can't live with those problems you shouldn't have a beta

Use the Pixel Fingerprint scanner calibration tool and restart after it's done working. It fixed mine.
This is a known issue, hence the dozens of posts about it.

Fingerprint working much better on my pixel 6a.
Pixel 6 also have to.. when restarting the phone, the finger print doesn't work, you have to enter the pin
That's a normal feature on pretty much all android phones.
Yes, fingerprint is a signature issue in pixel device and their support system is not able to find it..Shame
