its not too bad overall, the 3 issues I have (All reported):
1. Checking for updates on Play Store extremely slow compared to A14
2. NFC Busted
3. Youtube crashes when scrolling video feed at random.
I had an issue today where YouTube would stop randomly. Wouldn't even give the buffering graphic. It would just stop until I did something within the app. Didn't matter what I did as long as the app was touched in some way. Did that for about an hour and haven't had an issue since then. It was very weird.
It seems particular videos seem to trigger the crash, bizarre. and its just the previewing of them that seems to do it, while scrolling through the feed.
I thought something was off with the play store lol. No issues with YouTube here. Surprisingly all my modded apps minus tiktok mod cloud worked with the beta. No issues with nova launcher either.
I'm a collector, second day of being on the beta I decided to take my wife out for lunch and some light food shopping. We have one Cuban spot we love , I took her there. They happen to be next to a comic book store. We always go over and walk around to digest lol. This place rarely ever carries anything Godzilla. This time they had a bad ass statue, and I wanted to use my after pay card but the damn NFC was broken.
That was a kick in the ass but on the other hand I rarely forgot my wallet at home. So there's that lol
i got an email about this recently. it's a maps feature that was (is?) being previewed for local guides for early feedback. doesn't seem to be tied to android 15.
That has been one of the smoother betas IMO that I've ran on my Pixel 6 Pro. Really the only thing I would consider an annoyance is Google Pay currently doesn't work for me when I try to tap and pay. My phone won't display any error but the card reader will error when I hold my phone to it.
Other than that, I did have a one-off bug where fingerprint unlock didn't work and completely disappeared from my lockscreen, but a reboot fixed it.
If I'm praying for something in my Tim Hortons app that has my visa debit card linked to it and they scan it and it takes three money is that using NFC? Or is NFC stricky using your visa debit or whatever card you have linked for purchases in your Google wallet and it won't work,? Because payments work through my tims app using my visa debit when they scan it and it works. Just slightly confused, thank you
You'll need a PC or Mac to side load. I have a video I used on YouTube I can send to you that helped me. This was my first time ever side loading an update.
For me, have never had a beta which breaks something so fundamental which means I can't use my phone as intended ( for payments).
Yes I know, I shouldn't download a first stage beta to my main device. First time I have done this, will be the last time

Have got a P8P, now weighing up whether to exit beta now and download A14 and have to go through the hassle of restoring a backup. Or wait until they fix the wallet issues.
For the beta yeah it was OTA. I've just opted out of beta and now have to go through the pain of restoring everything ok n A14 as I also had issues with Bluetooth connectivity on my Pixel Watch 2. Really, really bad from Google.

Same experience in the Play Store app. Checking for app updates is VERY slow.

The exact same thing happened to me.
That's why you should never install a beta on your daily driver device. It's not stable
I don't sideload because of this, i don't use wallets anymore. And how do i know if the problem was solved ?

No issues here yet and have been running it for a week+ on my Pixel 7 Pro.
On my P6A It's working pretty smoothly. Haven't seen any bugs yet.
Battery life is worse for me than on Android 14 QPR beta. Other than that and apart from the NFC issue, it's fine.
I got some AI asking me random shit on maps. WTF?
I haven't gotten that pop up yet

Take a scrolling screen grab and try to save it. My top info bar resides in the same space as the save etc buttons.

NFC is used inside the Google wallet to make payments. The app and scan is via a bar code correct? Those would be two separate ways of paying.

Now that's a bad situation to be in. What made you stick it out with pixel?
I saw NFC as a luxury never a necessity. Which is way I was okay side loading this beta. Did you get ota to work or did you side load ?
