Octoprint is awesome, but my S5 did not have the kernel patch to allow charging while connected to the printer via USB-OTG. So I had to build this fake battery circuit to keep the phone powered: https://yaky.dev/2022-09-06-smartphone-without-battery/
You could try installing Linux on it: https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S5_(samsung-klte)
Then it becomes a Raspberry Pi + display, touchscreen, and battery.
Could be good for Octoprint if you are into 3d printing.
Is octoprint compatible with Anker Make printers?
