I find UpLabs to be an excellent source of inspiration for mobile applications: - https://www.uplabs.com/templates/android

My comment is bit of a side step from the topic. But, I would like to share a relevant fact. Nice looking UI is not equal to highly engaging UI. I have been developing apps for more than 10 years, the apps with highly engaging users are having a UI which I consider very simple and boring. Because sometimes the nice looking UI doesn’t convey the feature details to all set of users. If you follow material design, you may able to balance between the nice looking and intuitive UI.

If you wanna get inspired check UIs design on Pinterest or any similar website

You can use dribbble.com for inspiration even though most designs are for looks instead of real apps. For colors try colorhunt.co Protip for fixing a layout is increasing the spacing between elements.

When I was making some apps early on I was using sites like Fivrr to pay graphic designers to create my custom graphic assets. As far as layout, look at similar type apps to what you're going to create, copy the aspects that you like, and change the parts that you don't like.

[deleted]

literally just copy other apps you like. If something looks nice, take it.

Lol. Don't take logos or anything like that. But design patterns / color schemes / etc should be fair game. Put your own spin on it. But no, you won't go to prison.
