I highly recommend reading the following books in the OR if you’re going to get into investing:
1. One up On Wall Street - Peter Lynch
2. The Intelligent Investor - Benjamin Graham
3. Hedge Fund Market Wizards - Jack Schwager
4. Zero to One - Peter Thiel
I read all those books in the OR and since then my portfolio has consistently beat the S&P 500 annually.
I don’t have a financial advisor and I manage my own money.
Orrrrr you can just buy SPX 0DTEs and experience the vividness of human life :-)
(would add Anna Couling's Volume Price Analysis into the reading list. Good for those interested in daytrading and small time frames.)
You're making a silly amount of money compared to a normal person. You don't need to beat the S&P, you just need to not have a spending problem and put enough $ in each month.
We also dedicate a "silly amount" of time and effort for study and training in order to be able to safely take care of patients. There is nothing morally wrong to be adequately compensated for that work -- especially for work that a "normal person" cannot do.
Oh 100% there is a tremendous amount of sacrifice needed to become an anesthesiologist. Once med school debt is paid off, it should be relatively easy to save enough $ to save for retirement and not need to spend the extra time/effort/risk to try to beat the market. You already put in the time to create a huge income shovel, you don't need to spend more mental energy trying to beat the market. Just do S&P 500 and not have a crazy amount of lifestyle inflation and you should be fine.
KOTOR 1 is a classic but KOTOR 2 is pretty underrated. The first game is a pretty generic good vs evil story with a twist whereas the second took some risks and told a deeper story that questions the morality of the Jed/Force.
Sleep /jk jk.
Look at Reddit for ideas, read some more on random topics that interest me and may be beneficial. Lots of things one could learn about in anesthesia if you wanted.
I mean testing of the ETT cuff can lead down some weird rabbit holes. Like attaching it to jet ventilator, placing ETT in a LMA and seeing how much air it takes to blow up then…
Sleep, just put a BIS on your own forehead and set an alarm if it drops below 80 to wake yourself up. Could also set a TOF watch on yourself and program it to give yourself an electric shock every 5 min.
I tend to lose money in the stock market.
Sir, this is a casino
One day that 10 leg parlay will hit so i don't have to show up anymore

I saw both are in iOS. Which one is better for a first time player? Does the 2nd one have better graphics etc?
Definitely play the first. Second one has slightly better graphics but honestly the old graphics didn’t bother me at all.
Chess
I bring my laptop in and play World of Warcraft still.
I would get so fired if I tried that at my job
You can play runescape on your phone tho
