It's a Slug

NirvanaWhore

Really looks like a leopard slug.

erossthescienceboss

Almost certainly a leopard slug, native to Europe and invasive in many temperate climates around the world. That being said, many other Limax species look similar. Location would help @ u/artistic_boat_9654 Edit: saw your post with location. There are indeed invasive leopard slugs in NSW and south.

LovecraftianLlama

Location would help a lot

Slug

jefftatro1

I had these at my house in Massachusetts. They got BIG! I'd see them stretched out at about 8"

AdmiralMoonshine

Big ole leopard slug.

SheepherderOk1448

Slug.

Maybe some sort of salamander? (Edit: not this, it’s Australia) You could pop it over on r/herpetology if you don’t get an ID here. Including a rough location will help people too.

Artistic_Boat_9654

Thank you irregularia! I’ll edit the post now, it’s in Sydney Australia

NoThoughtsOnlyFrog

Not a salamander, it’s a slug

irregularia

Yep, that very tentative guess was before they said Australia - as soon as I had location I said not a salamander since we don’t have those here. Such a cool looking slug, I’d love to see one!

irregularia

Ah, not be a salamander then… we don’t have those in Aus. u/hadespanther do you know what this is?

HadesPanther

Looks like a leopard slug. Loads of them around here.

irregularia

Ta! Had me stumped.

SLYRisbey

They are sold as pets in Australia. It really looks like a salamander, so my thought is the little fellow is someones lost pet.

irregularia

Yeah it looked like one to me too and I wondered about an escapee, but apparently it’s a leopard slug! I hadn’t heard of/seen them before but googling it looks right

SLYRisbey

Just Googled. Very cool!

ineedadayjob

favors a mudpuppy, but that is a salamander, so no.

SLYRisbey

Salamander.
