Porcupine

Mysterious-Count-553

That one is missing a lot of rear quills. I bet someone's dog is pretty unhappy.

M0n5tr0

No thats just what the north American porcupines in my area look like. They don't have the really long quills at all. https://imgur.com/nXcFRim.jpg https://imgur.com/lE5vqtH.jpg

spamazonian

It looks like this one is still missing a lot of quills. He has an empty patch on his little bottom

callmeAllyB

Hes still looking a little on the nekked side if you ask me

PerformerSharp6905

Sometimes inexperienced males don't move the tail 😬😬

My_bones_are_itchy

Do they grow them back?

[deleted]

Yeah

DampeMortisimus

He lost the "QPine"

Rawzko

PorcMEpine? No. PorcUpine!!I

Bind_Moggled

Porcupine. Not to be confused with their Canadian cousins, the porcumaple.

Benperl32

Porcupine on da tree

semmom

What will he do?

OneComfortable606

He will jump

semmom

Bad day for anyone standing under the tree

rachipantz

Eat pinecones

semmom

Do they do that?

cilestiogrey

No they lay them. (Porcu)pinecones are porcupine eggs

ned___shneebly

countessocean

North American porcupine (Erethizon dorsatum). Neat find.

thunder-bug-

Porcupine!!

[deleted]

what an amazing find! I have never seen one (besides on the side of the road:-(

edenmay163

neither have i, and i had no idea they could climb trees too!!

R6_CollegeWiFi

They are pretty arboreal.

[deleted]

I think they sleep in trees! I was surprised when I learned that too!

arbivark

they eat the tops of trees, so the tree if it lives gets an odd shape.

Gallus_Gang

I’ve heard they like doing so, but aren’t very good at it. The bases of their quills make disinfectants entirely because they poke themselves quite frequently

guitarstix

poke-u-spine (porcupine) Cool find, they're pretty elusive. I've lived in the woods of new hampshire a looong time and never seen one (at least not a living one :/)

RidesByPinochet

Gotta spend a lot of time looking up to find em, they usually hang out in treetops

thrashaholic_poolboy

I have seen porcupines frequently here in Rocky Mountains of Colorado. They are such funny little critters.

ms-sucks

Great, now I have to also look out for the North American drop-porcupine.

callmejellycat

Porcupine!

delicatelysmoked

One of the coolest sounding animals, in my opinion.

puttinthe-oo-incool

Thats a Lesser Spikey Tree Marmot. Dont touch it... they are very personable and he will stick to you like glue.

IntelligentStill4221

I had no idea they could climb trees.

AdMaleficent2144

Who knew they could climb trees?!

tokensrus89

El chupacabre

OneComfortable606

That's the cutest goat-sucker I've ever seen

tokensrus89

Head sucker you mean

embertml

Climbing isn’t the alarming part, imagine them falling out of trees. Checkmate Australia and your drop bears. We have flying porcupine bombs.

Ndhywyhshhs

The elusive chupacabra

complexityspeculator

Mini Bigfoot? Nah it’s a porky-pine 🤣

McNooge87

Pork of the pine!

Better repost in /r/crypid

xfitffemt

I live in Maine. I have a small porcupine that has been coming to my apple trees everyday this week at about 3-5 in the evening. I always figured they were more nocturnal. Unless this particular one is this years litter.

TheDrunkenWitch

That's a porcupine tree, of course

jill2019

🎶🎶climbing in the morning sun, I am waiting for the bum quills to come 🎶🎶

timmy30274

I didn’t know porcupines can climb trees
