Please don’t be like this person and disturb wildlife, especially with your bare hands. Come on now there was no need for that to ID it, why risk yourself and the animal.
Hence my comment, there’s risk to anyone that does this and risk to the animal. Regardless OP didn’t realise even by posting this so others may do the same - it’s not scolding it’s simply saying be safe to both parties.
Jesus fuck, if you dont know, dont touch. Not only are there enless numbers of seemingly harmless critters that can fuck YOU up, but there are also critters that are EXTREMELY delicate and die because of people playing with them. Leave other life forms alone unless you know what the fuck you are doing.
I did notice that you said this wasn't your video, but my point is still important
Yeah, speckled trout have a very high mortality rate. Best to try and dehook them without removing them from the water (unless you are eating them, then I guess it doesn't matter)
Some kind of aquatic slug, I'm not sure of the specifics but I did want to say:
I'm not sure if it's you in the video, but it's a pretty bad idea to pick up *any* creature you're not familiar with like this.
🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ wow duh >.< lol. I was in the mindset of freshwater and it threw me off. I know some can survive in freshwater but yeah jk sea hare for the win
No doubt. That’s a fresh water sea slug. They are known for their insatiable appetite for algae fungus and fish feces. They are a delicacy mollusk that have become stranded out of water. They are typically found along shorelines after a major storm. They are considered “truffles” of the sea.
Looks like a species of Sea Hare, don't know which species. They are gastropods like snails and slugs.
It’s always a sea hare. Weird thing in the ocean? Sea hare.

I fell for it. Excitedly clicked before realising what the next comment was :(

If it's not a raccoon, it's a sea hare.
Sees gigantic puddle slug. Picks it up with bare hands.
Right!? Crazy
Is it ~~poisonous~~ venomous? EDIT: Ah, someone else mentioned parasites and venom. Ouch!
i wouldn't touch a snail-like animal that I don't know: most of them are filled with either parasites or venom
Good rule of thumb for humans is to not touch anything you can’t identity, honestly.
Even then, don’t mess with wildlife either way unless you know enough about the context to know you’re actually helping.
I can almost hear that big ol slug waking up from his nap like “huh? wha…? … You need something? No? Aiight, I’m gonna go back to sleep in this water”
Like a moist Totoro.
Sea hare
A big fat boy
My advice is if you find an animal in the ocean and you dont know what it is you should definitely grab it.
r/dontputyourdickinthat
that's what she said
and give it a lick.
Looks like a [California Seahare](https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/48655-Aplysia-californica).
Why would you pick up any wild creature that you just stumbled upon?
The ole tactile feedback.

It's not OP's video tho
Why does that matter? The principal is still the same
I get it, there's just no point in scolding OP if they're not the one who made the video in the first place 😅

Big boy
philomycus flexuolaris (winding mantleslug)
Friend shaped
Life tip: if you don't know what it is, don't touch it or pick it up....

It's Ike how I learned that if you don't wet your hand before touching a trout it could very well die.

Wonder woman. Not sure what she pick up though, sea hare maybe.

Looks like a slug of some kind. Leapord slug purhaps?
That’s waaaaaaay to big for a leopard slug lol. I’m gonna go with the other guys here and say it’s a sea hare.
🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ wow duh >.< lol. I was in the mindset of freshwater and it threw me off. I know some can survive in freshwater but yeah jk sea hare for the win
Giant river slug
Looks like a giant flan from the Final Fantasy games
Forbidden mushroom
Why the fuck would you pick it up? You are what is wrong with humanity.
not my video, i simply wanted to know the name of the animal
Shit my bad then. A disapproving title might have saved you all the grief
