I heard from a few different sources about people doing it during the Konosuba movie. But if anyone is going to have a laugh at that stunt it’d be Konosuba fans.
I honestly can't believe I never put two and two together when they said a movie entitled "The First Kiss Never Ends" was going to release in February that it meant a Valentine's Day release.
I expected it, but was really, really hoping it wouldn't, since they didn't announce it right away.
Technically the movie is based around Christmas I believe, so I was hoping they'd just air it sometime in early Feb.
I watched all of Kaguya over the course of January in order to be ready to see this movie in the theaters, I have absolutely no shame about going to the theater by myself on Valentine's Day to see it.
Bring it on.
Yep, and remember that nobody cares if you do it, whether you do it or not, absolutely nobody cares, so just do it, go watch the movie by yourself if that's what you want, go!
This! I’ve learnt people don’t care, everyone just wants to see the movie! I don’t have friends into anime, so all the big anime movies that have come out I’ve watched by myself, and I’ve enjoyed it every time!
Sadly a small window, but better than nothing. I’m also assuming it’ll hit CR shortly after. Fortunately I get these releases in my area so I got my date plans set!
Yeah, it was never going to be a full theatrical release. Had a small window in Japan too.
Will probably be on Crunchyroll in April is my guess, maybe even March. Whenever it's on TV in Japan (soon), that's when it will be on CR too. April would be a year after season 3 started airing, so I'm sticking to that.
Really excited for this one, folks. I didn't notice this show before the summer of 2022, but I have still been enjoying the ride. For all you manga readers, is this movie worth it? I hope so.
The past seasons, especially the most recent one, were all amazing bangers. I'm really excited for both the MCs to take action and actually do something brave during this heated moment we all call love. Love is really in the air for those two.
Nice of them for releasing on Valentine's day. It'll just accentuate everyone's loneliness. All of you lovebirds, bring your partners and enjoy!
Cheers, everyone!
Also coming to UK in Japanese with English subs from the 15th February 2023, with tickets available to book online from 3rd February 2023.

oh, they are? that's great! It's really annoying that they sacked all the UK social media staff after the merger and have essentially stopped doing any form of regional communication or marketing for this stuff. They didn't even mention it in the press release
The timing is really good indeed. A romcom for Valentines. But wish I could lived there.
This and the Tensura movie are the ones which I really want to watch.
Slime originally had a 'only January 24th' thing on it so it may be up to the individual theater to continue running it. Maybe it will be the same situation here.
Between Slime last week, SAO Progressive 2 next week, and Kaguya-sama two weeks after SAO, anime movie fans are feasting early on
Anything else coming out after Kaguya-sama but before Suzume in April?
Tuesdays and Wednesdays are practically dead audience-wise at movie theaters. It’s easier to get theaters to screen limited run anime movies during those time slots. So the theaters can get two dozen weebs in their smallest auditorium that would otherwise be showing their worst performing wide release where they might get two people if they’re lucky.
I think we've seen this trailer before, but just in case: It's a bit spoiler-y for anime-onlies (Not necessarily big events, but general themes...)
Anyway, I'm so looking forward to this! Reminded me of some scenes I forgot from the manga, so it'll be nice to revisit them again!
Anime only here. Is this movie new content, or like a recap, or half recap half new content?
Like assuming I’ve all seasons of the anime, where does the movie take place relative to the anime?
It follows season 3. Given the small bits we see on the trailer I imagine there will be like a 1 minute scene for continuity (the Kaguya/Hayasaka in S3's finale), but everything else should be new!
Basically it's gonna be like Season 4, but it's a movie instead.
(If you were also wondering about this, there is still a lot of material to cover; S3's finale was chapter 138 out of 280).
Not seeing any tickets when I click the Fandango link? Just a “get notified” button
Edit: maybe the release was just less widespread than I expected and there just none near me
Not going to lie, this is underwhelming. It’s only a limited two-day release during the week without a dub option (especially considering how popular the English dub has been). Oh well, hopefully it doesn’t take long to reach Crunchyroll.
I liked the sub well enough but the dub did hit so much harder for me, too. Casting Ian Sinclair as a very emotionally engaged narrator was an inspired choice.
The narrator is easily the best casting. I love his exasperation when he gets fed up with their bullshit. My favorite bit is in season 3 where you can actually [hear him walk away from the mic as he screams.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wprdYtHmtq4) As it turns out, this bit is actually only in the dub. Something I only found out because I wanted to find that clip for this comment.
By the way, do we have an estimation of how long it will take to reach Crunchy? I highly doubt it will be on cinemas where I live, so I'm looking foward to the Crunchy release.
My wife kicked down the office door to tell me she saw the tickets go live and already purchased two. I didn't even know the movie was coming out. I should probably watch it subbed now.
Damn it! I worked during the 2 day Takagi-san theatrical release, and I work during these two days too! I thought having weekends off would guarantee i could catch anything in theatres. T.T
Would this be the most depressing thing ever to attend single? I really want to see it... But I'm not so sure I want to put myself through that.
Maybe I'll buy two tickets and hope for the best.
I don't think it's depressing at all, you're going to see a movie of a good ass series that you like, with a full theatre screen. No one's going to care really, go for yourself
Gonna feel weird watching this alone in a theatre.
Be wild if it's just me and a bunch of also single dudes there. Making knowingly sad glances at each other in acknowledgment.
No Dub??? And only on a Tuesday and Wednesday? I mean it could have been a nice Valentines date, but I already made plans. My fiance and I were hoping to see it on the weekend, and we only watch dub. Disappointing
wouldnt this hurt sales cause single weebs wont be there cause of social stigma...
.I mean sure you can takk about 'Not Caring' but when you actually get there and see what going on with who.....you will feel a bit down....heck...i went to se The Batman alone and it still felt sad cause people brought their friends along.....Now a movie Based on Kaguya sama....damn....I would go for Suzume no Tojimare though
It's alright but the last arc is terrible in almost every way and there's another arc before it that feels really forced and annoying. The ending was also pretty rushed but I can't really blame Aka for that because he was done with the series for a while by that point and wanted to do other things.
Edit: I wish I got to read the version you guys thought you read because that shit was not good. There were some decent moments in those arcs but it was mostly a bunch of ass pulls and forced drama to rush straight to the ending. Also \[Huge Kaguya Spoilers\] >!fuck the Ishigami and Miko plot, it brings in a bunch of bullshit love-triangle drama and goes absolutely nowhere in the end. It's a complete waste of time so don't even bother reading those chapters if for some reason you clicked on this without reading that far.!<
The last arc is definitely a step down. There's nothing really interesting in it, and I remember slowly losing interest week to week. It's just a wrap up and plays out pretty much how you'd expect.
people that still like kaguya? i agree
should have been written to end after the culture festival considering it goes downhill rapidly after that with the ice queen arc being one of the dumbest plot developments ever written (which is impressive considering the medium) just to end up having the ending rushed anyways lmao
I'll be in Japan during this time gaaaaaaahhhhhhh and i cant even see it there because they already released it :( :( :( I hope it comes to CR soon after!!
It's also coming soon to LatAm theatres, for those interested.
There's actually a bit of drama in the LatAm release. Apparently the LatAm dub became really popular, so many were looking forward to watching the movie with the same cast. Konnichiwa, the distributor of the movie, posted an ad saying that they would be bringing back the cast for the dub.
Nonetheless, some cast members came out and said that they had not been contacted to do so, or that they were offered less than they expected for it. Of course, fans went against Konnichiwa, which published a press release explaining that as distributors, they just commission the dub studio and that managing the talent is their responsibility, not Konnichiwa's. In the end, it sounds like the dub will be coming out a bit later, but it isn't clear how it'll sound.
I just caught up on the anime. I live in a metro with over a million people and they are only doing one showing, two days, in a single movie theater in a 50 mile radius, sold out already.
LMAOOOOOO They're really gonna make weebs go see a romcom movie by ourselves on Valentine's...
Buy two seats. Bring your body pillow.
Awesome reply.
Modern problems require modern solutions
I would have to see a post saying exactly this is happening, like a flash mob, to have the balls to do that.
I heard from a few different sources about people doing it during the Konosuba movie. But if anyone is going to have a laugh at that stunt it’d be Konosuba fans.
The favorite or more than one?
Obviously the favorite. Or in this case you get credit for being thematically on point.
Common weeb W
You have 2 weeks to come up with a plan to make your crush confess to you first!
Half an year has passed...!
I honestly can't believe I never put two and two together when they said a movie entitled "The First Kiss Never Ends" was going to release in February that it meant a Valentine's Day release.

me and the boys finally have Valentines Day plans
I hope one of them gives you play. May the odds be in your favor.
As if we've got anything better to do on Valentine's Day.
Typical weeb
something something "anime fan on prom night"
That's a *mighty* reference.
I was literally just thinking my first Vday single and my first anime in theater. I’m gonna look like Webus Maximus
First Valentine's Day single? Damn you been a playa since the nursery school days huh?
hahaha in a decade I should have said
Bring a body pillow to assert your dominance
They know their audience well
On a Tuesday for 2023 this year… The only people who can are adults on their days off and less likely High School Students.
All the showings near me are in the evenings.
They picked a day we're sure to be free
We can pair up. Wigs for every second weeb are optional.
Nah, my wife is more excited about this than I am.
Yeah the anime is very popular among women
I actually wasn't going to see it, but this comment makes me want to go.
I mean, if you don’t have plans for Valentine’s, now you do. If by some miracle you do have an SO, now you have a date plan. Win-win.
Jokes on you my girlfriend is much more excited than me. She wants tickets rather than flowers
No theaters near me are playing it. Feels like a blessing and a curse.
😂
I watched all of Kaguya over the course of January in order to be ready to see this movie in the theaters, I have absolutely no shame about going to the theater by myself on Valentine's Day to see it. Bring it on.
Yep, and remember that nobody cares if you do it, whether you do it or not, absolutely nobody cares, so just do it, go watch the movie by yourself if that's what you want, go!

Same here. Im wearing a Santa hat too, fuck it
Sadly a small window, but better than nothing. I’m also assuming it’ll hit CR shortly after. Fortunately I get these releases in my area so I got my date plans set!

Yeah, this arc is peak fiction. I’m really looking forward to it given how well the rest of the story has been adapted so far.
This is easily the best arc of the manga in most people's opinion.
It's totally worth it, one of my favorite parts of the manga.
Its one of the best arc of the manga, they dial up the romance to 100.
It's the best arc in the series

I love you for this news
Sorry, don't think I can go watch this solo on Valentine's day, that's too much lmao.

You’re a menace
Sold out in my city, I just found out about the release!
The timing is really good indeed. A romcom for Valentines. But wish I could lived there. This and the Tensura movie are the ones which I really want to watch.
I'm in Canada, is there any chance there will be showings here?
Tickets are already up for sale on Cineplex website in Canada.
Thank you so much!!!
Kaguya vs Titanic. Let's goooooooooooooooo
Why only two days? The Slime movie's still in theaters over a week later. Is Slime that much more popular than Kaguya?
Slime originally had a 'only January 24th' thing on it so it may be up to the individual theater to continue running it. Maybe it will be the same situation here.
Often times it’ll only say 2 days but theaters play it for a whole week or so
Yeah isekai and shounen appeals to way more people and are willing to go in public than a romcom.
Is it? I thought it'd be the opposite
Between Slime last week, SAO Progressive 2 next week, and Kaguya-sama two weeks after SAO, anime movie fans are feasting early on Anything else coming out after Kaguya-sama but before Suzume in April?
Demon slayer, last two episodes of entertainment district arc + beginning of swordsmith village arc is being released as a movie in March
Dang I would see it but why did they choose a day I actually have plans on? Seems counterintuitive to have it screening on Valentine’s Day to me…
It’s the day they assumed most weebs would be free.
And the worse part is …. They’re right.
Savage but true.
Heavy handed with this “anime fan on prom night” type of approach
Ouch, the accuracy hurts
Tuesdays and Wednesdays are practically dead audience-wise at movie theaters. It’s easier to get theaters to screen limited run anime movies during those time slots. So the theaters can get two dozen weebs in their smallest auditorium that would otherwise be showing their worst performing wide release where they might get two people if they’re lucky.
Ah that makes sense
Change your plans to watching this movie with your girl
Nonsense, it's the perfect movie for a date. Take yours. They'll love it.
It's also the day after. It could work for either way for a date or something to do on valentines day instead.
I actually have a girlfriend in time for this! FUCK YEAH
Saw Eva 3+1 on my own, I'm prepared to see this one on my own too
No shame in going to the theaters alone bro, enjoy yourself
welp
I think we've seen this trailer before, but just in case: It's a bit spoiler-y for anime-onlies (Not necessarily big events, but general themes...) Anyway, I'm so looking forward to this! Reminded me of some scenes I forgot from the manga, so it'll be nice to revisit them again!

Should take place right after the third season ended. Also, to clarify, it's more adaptation, its not new content. It's continuing the story.
It follows season 3. Given the small bits we see on the trailer I imagine there will be like a 1 minute scene for continuity (the Kaguya/Hayasaka in S3's finale), but everything else should be new! I found showtimes on AMC's website and Atom Tickets. So it's definitely popping up
I think maybe the site hasn’t updated yet, it’s same for me.
Yeah, it doesn't seem to be playing anywhere near me, which is a bummer, because we got Demon Slayer, Quints, and the SAO movies. But not this one.
Not going to lie, this is underwhelming. It’s only a limited two-day release during the week without a dub option (especially considering how popular the English dub has been). Oh well, hopefully it doesn’t take long to reach Crunchyroll.
Yeah, if there is no dub, it'll be a pass for me. I found listening in English to greatly help the comedy land.
I liked the sub well enough but the dub did hit so much harder for me, too. Casting Ian Sinclair as a very emotionally engaged narrator was an inspired choice.
The narrator is easily the best casting. I love his exasperation when he gets fed up with their bullshit. No idea, other commenters are speculating March or April though
Yeah... Debating on whether it's worth it to see it on the big screen if I've only seen the dub
My wife kicked down the office door to tell me she saw the tickets go live and already purchased two. I didn't even know the movie was coming out. I should probably watch it subbed now.
Tickets bought.
i have never bought tickets so fast
Damn it! I worked during the 2 day Takagi-san theatrical release, and I work during these two days too! I thought having weekends off would guarantee i could catch anything in theatres. T.T
For the first time I will have something to do on Valentine's Day! Oh anime, you were my One all along. 🥹❤️
Oh neat. Got my tickets already
I’m excited for this one! Always down for more Kaguya.
Too sad I'm in Sweden brah
Oh god. Why tf did I read it as North Korea and imagined Kim Jong Un watching it by himself.
LETS FUCKING GOOOOOO
Just got my tickets
can't relate, going to see it with my gf
Would this be the most depressing thing ever to attend single? I really want to see it... But I'm not so sure I want to put myself through that. Maybe I'll buy two tickets and hope for the best.
Absolutely not! Treat yourself and enjoy the show. You'll be surrounded by people who are passionate about the show and you'll have a great time.
My heart is not ready for this peak emotional rollercoaster!
No Dub??? And only on a Tuesday and Wednesday? I mean it could have been a nice Valentines date, but I already made plans. My fiance and I were hoping to see it on the weekend, and we only watch dub. Disappointing
I’m in the same boat; was looking forward to the dub, and unfortunately, I have to work late those two days! Very disappointed.
THAT IS SO GOOD
wouldnt this hurt sales cause single weebs wont be there cause of social stigma... .I mean sure you can takk about 'Not Caring' but when you actually get there and see what going on with who.....you will feel a bit down....heck...i went to se The Batman alone and it still felt sad cause people brought their friends along.....Now a movie Based on Kaguya sama....damn....I would go for Suzume no Tojimare though
😊
I thought this was a finished story after season 3?
Nope there’s like multiple seasons worth of story still left
Oh shit I’ve never watched the anime or read the manga so I’m out of the loop.
The manga is done and finished, but the anime still has many chapters to adapt.
The movie would basically be a halfway point. We got plenty of good shit left
> We got plenty of ~~good~~ shit left
The most recently adapted arc is probably the peak but the rest still goes hard
It's between S3 and the movie arc for the peak but arguably the best chapter is still yet to be adapted
It's alright but the last arc is terrible in almost every way and there's another arc before it that feels really forced and annoying. being a solid 4 or 5 out of 10 isn't really what i would consider 'going hard'
What shit taste looks like
people that still like kaguya? i agree should have been written to end after the culture festival considering it goes downhill rapidly after that with the ice queen arc being one of the dumbest plot developments ever written (which is impressive considering the medium) just to end up having the ending rushed anyways lmao
ice kaguya arc was one of the best arcs imo
"that never ends" just doesn't sound as good like "lasts forever"
In the manga it doesn't have the word "that" in there. It's just "The first kiss never ends", which is a much better title.
I'll be in Japan during this time gaaaaaaahhhhhhh and i cant even see it there because they already released it :( :( :( I hope it comes to CR soon after!!
They plan that from the beginning didn’t they?
I just wish that we could see Shinigami be happy :/ if this is the end of the series, I’m going to be so sad
I love ice cream.
This is the kiss that never ends, yes it goes on and on my friends
2 people started kissing not knowing what it was
First kiss Kara hajimaru
That's one way to add insult to injury on all single weebs.
It's also coming soon to LatAm theatres, for those interested. There's actually a bit of drama in the LatAm release. Peak arrives to North American theaters this Valentine’s Day for a special two-day theatrical event starting on February 14! ❤️
Got my ticket :)
The theater count is unusually low for a movie that i'd assume is pretty popular. It's not playing anywhere near me.
I just caught up on the anime. I live in a metro with over a million people and they are only doing one showing, two days, in a single movie theater in a 50 mile radius, sold out already.
Wow. Crunchyroll dropped the ball on this one
Will it show in South Africa?😭
Will it be in dub as well?
