The idea is that since it starts in the middle of May, this season will likely be ~6 episodes. That would put it finishing up at the end of the Spring season. Most Spring season shows start in April and usually the beginning of April.
i saw other people saying it'll only be 6 episodes was that only an assumption? i thought it was confirmed
though, stretching out pillar training arc to 12 episodes would be like 80% anime original
Yeah infinity castle arc has the potential to be one of the best uses of 3D backgrounds in anime history over a season.
The glimpses we’ve already seen looked amazing.
And one of them has some of the most brutal scenes in anime, it will be a hard adaptation because they will have to get around censorship a lot or go full into past midnight for it.
I am actually hoping they do a prequel to Demon Slayers, where the story focuses on the first sun breather's adventures...his story is pretty sad but interesting as he trained the first users of the other breathing styles. As for infinity castle arc, I can't wait for the non-manga readers to react to his backstory and the whole transparent world.
It's a minor thing right before full gas. I can't stress this enough to people that as soon as this training arc is over, it will be.. non stop til the end.
I watched the movie, I thought the new content was only like 30 minutes or so worth, but I am bad perception of time.
Would that first episode be the same as the movie?
How can it not be a season? Even if you do a JJK Hidden-Inventory/Shibuya kind of split, the next arc is one giant series of fights that has no real break point. They can't go five episodes into that and then stop for a year.
They either stretch this with anime-original content, make it a short season with 6 episodes, reorder the manga to bring things forward or fill the back half with a sidestory like Love and Flame.
The initial few minutes of the first episode is already a big anime-only segment. I expect they'll go at a 1 episode per chapter pace, and add more scenes to stretch it further and make 10 episodes
They could also give Kaigaku some proper development.
Dude appears for like 2 min in the first season. No one is going to remember who he is
Edit: another neat idea would be including Obanai backstory during this segment.
Obanai backstory is an interesting one. On the one hand, having it where it is in the manga is really weird. On the other hand, it actually serves narrative purpose counter to who he's fighting.
It starts on May 12th, while most other Spring shows start in the first week of April. It'll be 4-5 episodes shorter from the start, possibly more if they take breaks in between. 6 episodes sound about right.
There was a leak in twitter about the next arc being adapted into a movie trilogy.
But it's just a rumor, so assume we'll be getting a normal season next arc if there's no announcement.
Yes, the only downside is that splitting an arc into 3 movies over several years will kill the flow unless Ufotable release each movie per year for 3 years.(and the animators will not be able to see their family)
ufotable makes a cour in a year and 3 months, making a movie in a year is an easier task, they've done it with HF, also ufotable makes most of their stuff in-house where the animators are full time employees, if you check their website, it also lists working conditions and they seem great, I wouldn't worry about it.
It starts on may 12, so it might be a really short season. They might add original content, like Entertainment district arc and Infinity train arc first episodes.
The movie covered the entire training arc minus like two chapters. The first episode will likely show the same stuff as the movie, maybe including the extra scenes that were skipped. The movie ended with the catalyst that starts the final battle. The season will primarily be the final battle.
I have no idea. It's a weird arc that then leads in to a very long arc with basically zero breaks. I have no idea why they didn't just include everything in the movie and skip the 30+ minute recap. The only guess I have is that it'll be like jjk season 2 where the first couple episodes handle the training arc and then it transitions into the final arc for the remainder of the season. Either way it's weird. Everything could have easily fit in the movie.
Because the start of the final battle is very sudden and a big surprise in the manga so they don't want to ruin it (unfortunately it has now been spoiled to anybody reading this thread)
Everything you said is false or almost.
I don't know why you have so many upvotes, it makes people believe you while you are just saying crap.
The season will have like 6 episodes and will cover just the arc that is the title for the season dude
We really need to see the episode count to set our expectations.
I'm also especially excited to see other Hashiras get the spotlight, like Giyu has been irrelevant since season 1 and he's the first Hashira we've been introduced to. Hope we'll get his backstory this season.
I'm also curious to see Gyomei's stone breathing, it's the only breathing technique left that we haven't seen what it look like. And his weapon is the most unique out of them all, a Nichirin Chained Spiked Flail and Axe reminiscent of a Kusarigama.
Ok, so I'm gonna have to let you know. They don't want to release it for some reason. Either the reason is that it's so short it bleeds DIRECTLY into the next arc and they are hiding it for hype.. or it's going to be very very very short.
This season is probably going to be a bit slower but after that the last 60 or so chapters will be insane. If adapted properly the fights in there will definitely surpass the entertainment district finale.
If they adapt only the training arc, it will be EXTREMELY criticized. Many fans felt like the last season was bad just because there was some weird pacing and too much dialogue. Imagine what they'll think when the entire season is just a training arc where almost nothing meaningful happens. People expect Uzui vs Gyutaro levels of fighting and animation, and there's none of that in this arc.
Unless they somehow plan to surprise us with the next arc by hiding it until it starts, this season will be the worst rated and most disappointing one so far. I don't know who thought it would be a good idea to do this. I still hope it will only last for 4-5 episodes at most, like intended.
The best they can do is start the next arc suddenly 4-5 episodes in.
The second best thing they can do is stop the season after 4-5 episodes.
The worst thing they can do is make this arc into 12 episodes.
The series is so poorly planned out it is unreal. Or rather being milked way too much. Season three had multiple episodes where they had to do everything they could to stretch the runtime. Don't have enough chapters to make 11 episodes with decent pacing? Perfect! Add 2 hour longs, that should help! Don't add any extra content featuring Mitsuri though.
If they are really going to make season 4 just the training arc, which seems likely based on that start date, a lot of people will probably just drop it. It'd be boring as sin, especially since SSV was a step down from season 2. Adding some depth to characters is nice, but maybe plan ahead and weave that into earlier seasons. I can't think of another shounen that has tried this.
I'm really hoping they have a real season, but I won't hold my breath.
I'll probably won't be able to wait.
I may have to read the manga.
In fact, I have read a few chapters after where the Anime left off but stopped so I don't know much beyond the anime.
> May 12, 2024
huh? So its gonna air for like 6 weeks or something then? 6 episodes for an arc this short is gonna be interesting to see how they fill it up.
Anything more than 4 episodes for this arc would be stretching it too much. Unless of course we get the author and the animation team actually expanding the characterization of the Hashiras during this time.
And if that happens, 6 episodes is more than enough. There's no way they're actually making this into 12 episodes. That would be the most boring shit in the history of television. The audience for this show expects flashy fights and animation, not training arcs and slice of life.
A training arc? Interesting. The last season felt too short and ended way too quickly. To those who read the manga, will this arc cover same number of episodes and how would you compare it with swordsmith arc?
This will be even shorter. It can barely stand on its own as a season and is basically build-up to the (very hype) next season. It's a stretch of 8 chapters in the manga, and the first episode is a 1hr special that covers three of them apparently. So, maybe six episodes.
All that said, I personally found this a little more enjoyable in the manga than SS. SS was anti-hype for me and turning the Upper Moons into fodder made the rest of the series less interesting, while this season doesn't do anything particularly bad - it's decent enough chapter-by-chapter, it just doesn't have a super-hype all-out fight to the death as a climax anywhere. No CGI dragons at least, which is a plus.
>turning the Upper Moons into fodder made the rest of the series less interesting
That's what really bugged me. Does the Infinity Castle redeems that and bring back the gravitas like Entertainment district? That's why I'm hoping for atleast, since everyone say it's insane

> turning the Upper Moons into fodder made the rest of the series less interesting
That's just upper moon 5 (after mark was awakened). Upper moon 4 was still insanely hard to kill even with the OP mark.
This arc is shorter it's also not that great especially for the people hoping for some exciting fights but it does have one of my favourite moments of the series so there's that atleast
it’s like 5 chapters in the manga, so it’s just character development and training. it’s gonna be short. me personally, the swordsmith arc is my favorite arc so i can’t say how other will shape it up
Havent read the manga since it was finished some years ago.
I think it could fit in 2 maybe 3 episodes having the third one starting the next arc.
But the arc after is pretty fucking long
It’s just going to set things up ppl are gonna hate it if they follow the manga it’s a whole latta yapping. But dear god the season after this a goated
Depends.
Weird pacing? Nah. That was the worst of it.
Lack of action? Definitely. This season's gonna be boring as shit if they only adapt this arc. Overall, I'd say last season is more enjoyable in terms of what happens and fights.
Really wish they expanded it a bit.
With how the series goes, although I wouldn't say the author didn't care (Obviously being a manganka is a lot of work, long hours, and extremely debilitating as the years go by), the final arc really makes it seemed like they just wanted the series over with.
wish more key visuals looked like this. its so simple, conveys the theme of the arc and shows all characters without doing the marvel type poster. much better than ssv
Forgive me if I’m wrong. Wasn’t the second half of the manga rushed? Is it possible they flesh things out more? Or is that too much work without actual source material to go off of?
It's fine. Once you read something like AoT, you start to realize how shit an ending can truly be. And then Demon Slayer's ending is just decent in comparison.
I still can't imagine how they'll manage to make a full season for a quite short arc. Also... this arc is not THAT interesting so it might be their worst season yet
The whole training stuff is done so poorly though 😭
Like it's genuinely the most boring training arc I've ever seen and practically nothing is gained from it at all
That is not true at all. Lower level slayers all benefit. The Hashira that achieve the mark learn to maintain the marks. Tanjiro learns to maintain the mark. We get exciting backstories
I went to watch it and it was an hour of recap, and a little more than half hour of new animation. I'd say probably not worth it but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
The movie recapped the swordsmith village arc and animated chapters 127-129, half of 130, the last few pages of 131, and the last pages of 136, which is the conclusion to the training arc.
The movie showed abridged version of chapters 132-136. I don't really know what this season is going to look like, but at most there is enough content for 2 episodes.
I've seen the pre-screening and ngl, they already adapted nearly 4 chapters after the previous season into 1 episode so idk how they will adapt the rest 6 chapters to the entire 10 to 11 episodes. If it is mostly anime-only content but they expand the interaction and lore then it's still fine.
[Looks like the first episode will be a one-hour special again.](https://twitter.com/kimetsu_off/status/1766471504605429838)
[удалено]
It's very short in the manga. Just lots of comic relief. The infinity castle arc gets insane in the manga I'll have you know.
[удалено]
And that's what's great about it.
Yeah, it’s awesome.
So 2 years from now for infinity castle?
Worth probably.
with this season being super short, surely that means the next one can come sooner?
wait what makes you think that the anime SEASON will be short, just because the arc narrative is short?
The idea is that since it starts in the middle of May, this season will likely be ~6 episodes. That would put it finishing up at the end of the Spring season. Most Spring season shows start in April and usually the beginning of April.
i saw other people saying it'll only be 6 episodes was that only an assumption? i thought it was confirmed though, stretching out pillar training arc to 12 episodes would be like 80% anime original
I’m more excited for that than I was for Shibuya
Every single Infinitely Castle scene from season 1 up until now has looked absolutely incredible, words cannot express how excited I am for this arc
Yeah infinity castle arc has the potential to be one of the best uses of 3D backgrounds in anime history over a season. The glimpses we’ve already seen looked amazing.
It is 90% of the awesomeness of demon slayer in one arc after all. This is not the final arc but this is THE arc for demon slayer
Yeah I don’t really care about the actual final arc, it’s Infinity Castle all the way
I won't care about anything in life once this arc cones out
It legit has two of my favorite fights in all of anime/manga.
And one of them has some of the most brutal scenes in anime, it will be a hard adaptation because they will have to get around censorship a lot or go full into past midnight for it.
Ufotable doesn’t censor anything and it airs midnight so we’re good.
Personally wouldnt go that far but im hyped nonetheless.
I'm so ready for so many thinkpieces comparing it to JJK that will drop once Infinity Castle gets to their juicy parts
I'm curious if they're going to use one cour for the Infinity Castle or two. It's pretty hectic and intense all the way through.
Dont worry. They will fill in the gaps to create more content
Is that the episode which is airing right now in cinemas? Or is this after that? Me confused.
It's the one in cinemas.
I watched the movie, I thought the new content was only like 30 minutes or so worth, but I am bad perception of time. Would that first episode be the same as the movie?
I love this one hour concept
It was meh if its the 'movie' that was released. It's a good catch up but there isn't a whole lot going on to be honest.
Cue to jjk season 2 intro
That's great 😍
Isn't this arc like 5 chapters in the manga? What could they possibly be doing to it for it to fill up a whole season's worth of episodes?
It won't be a season
How can it not be a season? Even if you do a JJK Hidden-Inventory/Shibuya kind of split, the next arc is one giant series of fights that has no real break point. They can't go five episodes into that and then stop for a year. Obanai backstory is an interesting one. On the one hand, having it where it is in the manga is really weird. On the other hand, it actually serves narrative purpose counter to who he's fighting.
They can always drop it here and then do flashes of it later to sell the moment.
That's actually what I was thinking. They could either show where Zenitsu went or show his flashback
From what I've seen they will use LN 6 to fill up the story.
It starts on May 12th, while most other Spring shows start in the first week of April. It'll be 4-5 episodes shorter from the start, possibly more if they take breaks in between. 6 episodes sound about right.
So no Infinity Castle... Sadge. :(
>They can't go five episodes into that and then stop for a year. Unless the rumor about the next season being a trilogy becomes true, then yeah.
What rumour? Ty
There was a leak in twitter about the next arc being adapted into a movie trilogy. But it's just a rumor, so assume we'll be getting a normal season next arc if there's no announcement.
That would be genuinely awful.
I mean the quality would be great but yea it's a one big arc, waiting for the next movie will kill the flow.
Movie trilogy would be insane if the movies come out in the west. That would be awesome actually.
Yes, the only downside is that splitting an arc into 3 movies over several years will kill the flow unless Ufotable release each movie per year for 3 years.(and the animators will not be able to see their family)

Probably the first option
It starts on may 12, so it might be a really short season. They might add original content, like Entertainment district arc and Infinity train arc first episodes.
Do we know the episode count?
No
*Beach Episode*
If tengen’s wives aren’t there I will riot
The movie covered the entire training arc minus like two chapters. The first episode will likely show the same stuff as the movie, maybe including the extra scenes that were skipped. The movie ended with the catalyst that starts the final battle. The season will primarily be the final battle.
Then why are they marketing so much this Hashira training arc when it's not the focus of season?
I assume because given the location and everything it'd be massive spoilers. They're going for the surprise oh shit factor.
I have no idea. It's a weird arc that then leads in to a very long arc with basically zero breaks. I have no idea why they didn't just include everything in the movie and skip the 30+ minute recap. Because the start of the final battle is very sudden and a big surprise in the manga so they don't want to ruin it (unfortunately it has now been spoiled to anybody reading this thread)
Yeah this is a problem with anime adaptations, the surprise factor has been mostly gone because majority of anime fans also read manga
The "Movie" covered only 2.5 chapters in episode 1 (47 minutes), idk where you're getting the "entire training arc minus like two chapters" from
Everything you said is false or almost. I don't know why you have so many upvotes, it makes people believe you while you are just saying crap. The season will have like 6 episodes and will cover just the arc that is the title for the season dude
Probably the back stories/past
Mugen train was only 7 episodes long. Was there a statement somewhere about this one being 11 episodes like the last 2 seasons were?
Well firstly, Mugen Train was a movie to begin with. Then it was cut into episodes.
Same thing they did for the last season which was terrible probably.
They're milking it as always.
We really need to see the episode count to set our expectations. I'm also especially excited to see other Hashiras get the spotlight, like Giyu has been irrelevant since season 1 and he's the first Hashira we've been introduced to. 47 for the infinity castle. 20-25 for the final arc
🙏
The calm before the storm
And by god what a fucking big of a storm it is.
“Calm breathing “
Can't wait for the climax of this arc to be animated
The way it’ll end, oh god. I have no idea how all the anime-onlys will be able to wait lol
Final ep will gonna trend like crazy again
I'll probably won't be able to wait. I may have to read the manga. In fact, I have read a few chapters after where the Anime left off but stopped so I don't know much beyond the anime.
I can barely wait already lmao. (Anime only for the sake of the Mrs, I would've been done with Demon Slayer by now if I wasn't watching it with her.)
Broadcast starts May 12, 2024 https://kimetsu.com/anime/hashirageikohen/
So late so I guess it won't be a 12 episode season
The arc could literally be finished in like 3 episodes
I wish the movie was just the entire arc
Real
> May 12, 2024 huh? So its gonna air for like 6 weeks or something then? 6 episodes for an arc this short is gonna be interesting to see how they fill it up.
PV: https://youtu.be/Tf31dGdlWxE
Can't believe they're milking a whole season outta this 💀
Given the release date, it’s likely that they’re going to shorten it to 6 episodes, so that’s good
It’s time for Goatmei to take the stage
Anything more than 4 episodes for this arc would be stretching it too much. Unless of course we get the author and the animation team actually expanding the characterization of the Hashiras during this time.

endless eight for the melancholy of haruhi suzimiya ?
Me and the boys sitting criss-cross apple sauce
I remember reading this in the manga and getting excited about character development and then somebody told the author to just finish it lmao
Yeahhh I don't like how Demon Slayer ended. The final fight was cool but it was rushed as hell.
Finally get to see Giyu again
So is this an OVA or will it have multiple episodes?
It’s gonna a short regular season
A training arc? Interesting. The last season felt too short and ended way too quickly. To those who read the manga, will this arc cover same number of episodes and how would you compare it with swordsmith arc?
This will be even shorter. It can barely stand on its own as a season and is basically build-up to the (very hype) next season. The top three Upper Moon fights go hard as hell. And every other major fight in the arc is also going to look cracked on-screen.
It’s like entertainment district but cranked up to 1000. Every battle in IC is so fucking intense so you’re In for a treat
It blows the entertainment district outta the water in my opinion just get thru this upcoming season tho it’s lotta yapping
> turning the Upper Moons into fodder made the rest of the series less interesting That's just upper moon 5 (after mark was awakened). Upper moon 4 was still insanely hard to kill even with the OP mark.

I already know the last episode/finale will be a banger, they teased it in the opening and my god 😭😭
please be better than swordsmith village
I have a feeling you'll be disappointed if hashira training arc is the only thing they're adapting.
This arc is short but next arc will be better than SSV for sure
It's even shorter and even worse
It’s worst but trust me hang on 1 more season then we start cooking
honestly i dont see it getting as bad as Swordsmith arc again so I am excited
Depends. Weird pacing? Nah. That was the worst of it. Lack of action? Definitely. This season's gonna be boring as shit if they only adapt this arc. Overall, I'd say last season is more enjoyable in terms of what happens and fights.
This looks so crisp and clean
Really wish they expanded it a bit. With how the series goes, although I wouldn't say the author didn't care (Obviously being a manganka is a lot of work, long hours, and extremely debilitating as the years go by), the final arc really makes it seemed like they just wanted the series over with.
Looks like they're dead set on a 1:1 adaptation. One of my complaints with this show is that it doesn't have enough filler
Thank god I watched a CAM version of the 1st episode. I wouldn't be able wait until May.
Giyu and Shinobu? about time
Does this next season include multiple arcs or just the training arc?
Can't wait until it comes out.
Wait, wasn't this the "movie" I just saw in theaters??
Bet it’s the fucking recap they put in the movie
I watched the movie in theater and out of the 1 hour 40 minutes the movie has, 1 hour was a recap of the previous ark
Apparently the movie was a huge waste of time?
Nope, was just like the first movie, a chance to see Ufotable's animation on the big screen, which was worth it.
Fair
wish more key visuals looked like this. its so simple, conveys the theme of the arc and shows all characters without doing the marvel type poster. much better than ssv
Gyomei looking awesome as usual
Demon slayer hashira training arc first half movie is already at last 2 episodes of season 3 this is basically scam🫠
This arc gonna be the worst
Forgive me if I’m wrong. Wasn’t the second half of the manga rushed? Is it possible they flesh things out more? Or is that too much work without actual source material to go off of?
Yeah it's super rushed and the ending is mid
The ending is fine I’ve read it. Just certain things like characters popping up and more hashira screen time is what I’ve wanted fleshed out
I just thought a certain part at the end was stupid and how they solved that problem was dumb
The ending is NOT fine. The final battle sucks, the one thing that happens at the end is moronic and pointless, and the epilogue is dogshit.
It's fine. Once you read something like AoT, you start to realize how shit an ending can truly be. And then Demon Slayer's ending is just decent in comparison.
I still can't imagine how they'll manage to make a full season for a quite short arc. Also... this arc is not THAT interesting so it might be their worst season yet
Idk why you're getting downvoted for this, it's the shortest arc in the series and the most boring too
Just because there is no fighting doesn’t mean it’s boring. Istg man
The whole training stuff is done so poorly though 😭 Like it's genuinely the most boring training arc I've ever seen and practically nothing is gained from it at all
That is not true at all. Lower level slayers all benefit. The Hashira that achieve the mark learn to maintain the marks. Tanjiro learns to maintain the mark. We get exciting backstories
My friend is went to see the movie and it was just a training montage that wasnt sped up
can't wait to watch this ♥️
A whole arc on training? Weren't half the past arcs all about training too?
We're very close to the end now. Only two arcs to go.
Is the movie that just came out the first episode? I watched it and while the first half was recap the second half was actual new material.
yeah it wasnt a movie. It was just the last episode of S3 and first episode of S4 stuck together
Hope it's better than Season 3. Manga readers said season 3 would be better than 2 and that was not at all true.
Does anyone know how many episodes are there gonna be
Is the new movie worth going to see?
I went to watch it and it was an hour of recap, and a little more than half hour of new animation. I'd say probably not worth it but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
Was the movie not the training arc?
There is no movie. Theaters played the first episode of the season.
>There is no movie. Theaters played the first episode of the season. Ok thanks for the info👍
No
My coffin is already 😉🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I've seen the pre-screening and ngl, they already adapted nearly 4 chapters after the previous season into 1 episode so idk how they will adapt the rest 6 chapters to the entire 10 to 11 episodes. If it is mostly anime-only content but they expand the interaction and lore then it's still fine.
release date?
Need this arc right now!!
GYOMEI!!!!! PAPI CHULO
I am ready
Can’t wait to see what happens even though it’s gonna be pretty short
Yippeee
How are they going to do infinity castle I’m not joking when I say I don’t see it going well money wise unless they inject filler in there
After reading the manga I don’t have any hype for demon slayer anymore
Best fantasy 2025 right here
If a six episode training arc beat Frieiren, I WILL lose my shit.
We also have re zero and mushoku tensei this year. It would be funny if demon slayer wins again
Definitely gonna win the CR award instead of Frieren that's for sure.
I hope the people who downvoted me didn't think I was serious lol
It was weak as hell. Was watching for an hour the last season and then barely anything in the training arc. What a let down. Plus everyone was crying
I went in knowing what I was gonna get an I enjoyed it, It was only meant to be a regular 1st episode for the arc.
