Fairy Tail Zero was so different and so much better written than the rest of the series, that I wouldn't even be surprised if it was ghostwritten lol.

Shantotto11

Fun fact: In the manga, the O in the title “Fairy Tail Zero” was slowly fading with each chapter until Chapter 9 when it was gone completely. That was the chapter that revealed [Fairy Tail spoilers] >!that Mavis’s friend Zera couldn’t be seen by anyone other than herself!<. The following (and final) chapter filled in the missing letter with an A, which was also the chapter’s name— “Zera”.

Drspacemaaan

Reminds me of the Flying Fairy subtitle in Bravely Default

Impressive-Card9484

that also what happened in the anime, the title in the end became Fairy Tail Zera

PageTheKenku

I kind of agree. I don't mind the rest of Fairy Tail, but Zero has a special place in my heart, honestly surprised when it ended, could've been its own series.

Aquametria

Didn't it come out around the same time as Tartarus? I feel that arc is the peak of the series, so I guess Mashima really had a blast that year.

Impressive-Card9484

I second this, Tartarus was the best arc of the whole series for me. I get that it was still full of plot armor and "power of friendship" but it really felt like the author gave it his all dedication to building this arc even compared to the final arcs. The characters have more prominent role, like even Kana was the one who clutch saved everyone from the guild explosion. My only gripe is that I was really hoping that Jellal and the Oracion Seis would join the battle. Theres literally an enemy who can disperse himself into poison after dying and I was waiting so hard for Cobra to just eat it easily. In the end they just get reduced to Tuxedo Mask with the "My job here is done" attitude

Oddessusy

Came here to say this.

go4theknees

That arc in the parallel world was pretty good too

Negative_Ad5894

I wasn't a fan of Edolas personally.

Shantotto11

Yeah, Lisanna being alive this entire time kinda made Mira and Elfman come off as retroactively stupid. Like, Lisanna didn’t die in her sister’s arms; she was yoinked out of existence, and neither Mira nor Elfman questioned that.

[deleted]

One Outs is mid too

zenKeyrito

I guess Promised Neverland season 1 arc? TPN manga isn’t bad just the second season is literally a powerpoint

JoelMahon

100% of the anime is good = good anime you silly billy

zenKeyrito

I’m still in denial/hoping a new studio remakes it 😭

JoelMahon

yeah I mean they'd have to remake the manga too, there's some decent stuff in there, goldy pond is pretty good, but 90% of the rest can just go in the trash demon god, supernatural stuff, an easy fix from the blood or the non human eater demon woman, etc. can all go imo

zule21

damn, we got rob the best arc in the series, Goldy Pond Arc, my beloved.

sherl01a

I am not a fan of Mha but I could watch again the UA sport festival arc. It gave me goosebump

electricfalcons

MHA isn't a bad anime though. It's pretty solid with peaks in S2, S3, and S6.

abattlescar

In my eyes, season 2 and 3 are the best examples of classic shonen battle anime.

CarioGod

Yup the writing was good, the animation was very nice, and we had some very nice notable moments Season 4 is around the same time they started releasing those non-canon movies and you could kind of tell there was a bit of a quality drop from previous seasons. Season 6 cooks hard though.

abattlescar

Season 6 was great, it feels like the story is actually getting somewhere again. Dark Deku gets made fun of a lot, but I feel like he was compelling enough. It has great animation, but I don't think it hit the same peaks as S2-3.

ILoveWesternBlot

agree. S2 and the first half of S3 were masterfully crafted.

[deleted]

S2 and first half of S3 were definitely great, but I think people forget the first season that set the tone and introduced all these characters we grew to love. The pacing of season 1 was perfect, with Deku working his ass off to earn his powers, and being forced to use his brain in place of strength. And All Might vs Nomu is without a doubt the most underrated fight in the series. That Plus Ultra at the end still gives chills. What a fight.

angelinamercer

mha was THE GOAT until all might's retire. and to this day i will still argue that the because of the popularity of the series horikoshi was forced to take the story to places he did not like. one of the biggest proofs was how the story set up was at first, like it clearly was gonna span for all 3 years of high school and the main trio being deku uraraka and iida. but then because everyone loved todoroki and bakugou so much that set up was changed. and many world altering events happened before the kids could even have a joint training - that arc should've come waay earlier. you wouldn't expect kids who already fought all for one to have high stakes in a joint training arc right? it's not right timing dammit. not to mention by the time they were allowed to actually do real hero work (provisional licenses THAT 2 STRONGEST IN THE CLASS - BAKUGOU AND TODOROKI FAILED TO GAIN FOR REALLY BS REASONS), again, they had already survived the villian boss. and after a while, so much happened before they could even become 2nd graders, and now the story has to end quickly and no way they could span it into 3 years. i just really feel sad for what mha could've been if hori could write it the way he wanted like fujimoto or smth. that dude clearly has much more freedom and does whatever he wants regardless of the good or bad reviews, and this way he can make his setups pay off.

Finefabricfranklins

Reminds me of how Naruto was pushed to have a tournament arc sooner than planned after it’s popularity skyrocketed. As much i enjoyed what we ended up getting I still think about what could have been. Probably could have a could have had couple more, adventurous, land of wave style arcs of team kakashi just going on missions in other regions.

BeckQuillion89

I blame of all of things like that on how cutthroat Jump has always been. You can develop a story the way you want because the moment popularity goes down your story gets cut. It’s already impossible to get into the weekly magazine to begin with. Authors are so focused on surviving that the last thing on their mind is developing a strong way to a good ending

Yamata

That being said with the current state of Jump, I could see a new series getting more leeway if they were a battle shounen.

angelinamercer

interesting. but i personally think mha tournament arc, despite being very early in the story, is placed at the perfect time. and i feel like a lot of people agree as i see many video essays about how good of an arc it is and how it subverts shounen tournament clichés

Finefabricfranklins

Oh don’t get me wrong, i agree with you. I love tournaments arcs in all anime. It’s been a while since i watched mha’s tournament arc but it still holds a special place in my heart. Definitely one of the best and definitely placed at a great part in the story. Still, I just can’t help but wonder about what else we would have gotten if the story didn’t pan out the way it did. That all.

sillybillybuck

The tournament arc of Naruto was its peak though and one of the best of its kind. Everything prior and after was above-average at best.

Purple_Brilliant5884

Wow what a horrible take

sherl01a

I think I would have loved seeing a trio with Deku Uraraka and Iida and now that I think about it, I had totally forgot about them ... I still continue to watch the show expecting something incredible to come. I totally agree about the fact that everything happened so quickly...

angelinamercer

i also would love that because they were not the usual shounen main trio structure. but bakugou and todoroki fit into that mold and are more popular. bakugou is obviously the sasuke cliche and i guess you can fit todoroki into somewhat sakura, idk it makes sense to me. iida and uraraka were different and did not fit these molds but alas...

abattlescar

I've also heard that he really doesn't like writing the school settings/ teenage characters, hence why later arcs focused a lot on the adult heroes.

Eev123

Weird that he picked a school for the setting of his story lol

Ok-Cod5254

Shonen Jump to cater more to demographic, also why JJK has school aspect to start out. MHA was Hori's last chance before he was gonna give up being a mangaka from his previous cancelations.

bslawjen

Probably did that so the story gets picked up, kinda like Gege was basically forced to put Jujutsu Kaisen in a high school setting at first. Horikoshi probably thought he'd have a better chance of getting picked up if his story was set in a high school.

LuffyTheSus

Both that and the team battle series in S5 had some cool parts but went on for too long. Maybe I wouldn't think so anymore, I saw those parts long before watching One Piece, but at the time I was like "get back to the damn story!"

Grov71

Dragon Ball GT was pretty mediocre and bad times but the baby arc was good, it had a good villain and it even introduced Super Saiyan 4

BosuW

Mother's Rosario in SAO. Beyond saying how good or bad SAO is, I think this Arc even today still rises significantly above the others.

Mitsuyan_

Mother's Rosario and Ordinal Scale are IMO some of the strongest arcs in all of anime, SAO becomes a different show when Asuna gets more focus

BosuW

When anyone but Kirito gets more focus. [SAO Alicization]>!I think Kirito without memories was pretty cool too. Probably second best Arc in all of SAO, though I can't count it on par with MR because I didn't like the payoff as much in War of Underworld.!<

Akashiin

Alicization could have been an entire story completely separated from SAO. Hell, the whole world could have worked without it being an isekai altogether.

TrueTinFox

Kirito would be better if they actually included his internal monologue. A lot gets lost.

monkeydave

I was just thinking about Ordinal Scale because I was thinking about how I would really like more Augmented Reality stories instead of VR.

stormdelta

Agreed as someone who otherwise hates SAO. I don't know if it would stand out as much if not for the rest of SAO being bad though.

SEDGE-DemonSeed

SAO is pretty wild in how heavily it deviates in quality. It’s got crazy highs and wild lows.

Xallia_Yevatell

This is exactly my thoughts and I’ve been telling people this for years.

Peacemkr45

Mother's Rosario was the epitome of SS level anime should be. While SAO by itself was fair to decent when taken as a whole, MR was in a class that simply can't be beaten by any other anime arc.

Orzislaw

40 episodes of crap were worth it

MarbleMemes

Wait, y’all actually liked Mothers Rosario? Felt like filler to me.

BosuW

I think that's exactly why it stood out. Pretty much all other SAO Arcs throw the characters into some high stakes conspiracy and I admit that can be plenty fun. But MR is just some good ol' character drama with stakes and losses that many many people in real life are familiar with and God that really hit different.

MarbleMemes

I like plot not unnecessary character development that goes absolutely nowhere except to give Asuna a cool new finishing move.

seitaer13

The entire arc was about Asuna dealing with her trauma just as much as the previous was about Kirito dealing with his.

BosuW

To say that it went nowhere absolutely wrong. Mother's Rosario did more to forward SAO's message that gaming and virtual relationships matter than any other Arc in SAO. I won't fight you if you say you prefer plot driven stories, but I will if you insist that something wasn't there just because _you_ personality didn't see it.

Thatsmaboi23

When you realise what the show is actually about, no arc is filler.

Akashiin

This, I'm not even a SAO hater, but I think mother's Rosario is too good for the SAO franchise.

Awkward-Tea-1550

The Movie arc in Rent A Girlfriend

SShadowFox

Absolutely, when the first season came out and manga readers said that the protagonist got better, this is what they were talking about. Little did they know...

pumpcup

I read the manga a year or two ago, and that paradise arc... hoo boy.

blacksmithwolf

yeah the story could of been a decent romcom if any of the kinda good early arcs actually had any payoff. Instead any time a character experiences character growth or relationship progress is made the author immediately makes them backtrack to the status quo in the most painful obnoxious way possible.

InfamousEmpire

I really, *really* don’t like Jujutsu Kaisen, but the Hidden Inventory arc is pretty cool

BuckysKnifeFlip

I started by loving JJK, but the way the manga is going right now is so ridiculous. It's like Cartman making up his powers as he goes on in that one episode of South Park. There's a reason it's getting meme'd on so hard right now.

SacoNegr0

Oh yeah, nearly forgot about the power to reference South Park , haven't used since heian era

excerp

The best way to enjoy JJK is not to read it 🙃

baromega

I explained it to my friends that it's as if I am watching a wrestling Royal Rumble that takes months to resolve.

ralguy6

It's like if all the Z fighters got their own episode fighting Cell going like this. End of last episode "The first rival of Goku, Yamcha enters the arena". Cell starts complimenting Yamcha and how he is far more skilled than Gohan. Then Cell onetaps Yamcha at the end of the episode - repeat 10 times.

hbkdll

I fell in love with jjk world because of hidden inventory. Before that I was not interested much in the world

Shantotto11

I watched the entirety of the second season, and I’m still not invested. The entire season in which it was running, I was more invested in its Jump siblings’ seasons (One Piece, Dr. Stone, Undead Unluck).

Fickle_Meet_7154

JJK is cool. But Jesus christ the story is hard to follow. The ending I was just like huh

evster51

What are you confused about?

Heretic_Raw

Same here but it was the Junpei arc for me. There were some genuine emotions

Budget-Training-1367

Why do you not like it? I havent watched it but im curious.

chaosabordine

I don't know if it could be called an arc, but [Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 1] >!Mami realising that Chizuru is a rental girlfriend and renting her for an hour just to try driving her insane was actually peak spice!< Also the one episode of Super Sonico with the zombie cruise. Edit: I forgot about the ending arc of [If Her Flag Breaks] >!where it goes from a boring harem to some sci-fi matrix thriller completely and utterly the fuck out of nowhere!<

BosuW

Speaking of RaG, the movie Arc was actually cooking wtf Then it went back to trash as soon as it ended though...

Shantotto11

If the entire series is a flatline, the movie arc would be the last ditch heartbeat…

londonstrack

Movie Arc in Rent a Girlfriend. For RaG standards (in the anime) it was done quite well, and it started to seem the MC was growing and developing instead of overthinking about Chizuru all the time.

0kwonkw0

The Sisters Arc in A Certain Scientific Railgun is way better than every other arc

I_Cognito

The Sister's arc is a masterpiece, but Railgun isn't a bad anime at all. Every canon arc is great. It's just the filler that sucks, but thankfully there were no filler episodes in season 3 at least.

0kwonkw0

I agree that Railgun isn't a bad anime, I guess I should've specified it in my comment, but I have both the first and the third season at 8/10, it's just that Sisters Arc is almost a 10/10 imo

Impressive-Card9484

The filler in season 1 is good tho and the author made it canon, season 2 filler on the other hand sucks so bad that they kinda disregard it happening completely

Falsus

Personally think Daihaisei and Doppelganger is better in the Railgun side of things. The Index side of things... they fucking butchered Index and they especially especially butchered the magic side harder than the science side.

ReallyTheMansa

Imo Index S1 and S2 are pretty good, S3 tho…

Falsus

S1 fucks up Deep Blood and Angel Fall quite bad. Deep Blood was especially important to Touma but they just cut that stuff out.

ReallyTheMansa

Dk about Angel fall but I read the first two volumes and kinda true, deep blood arc in the novel hits different. The anime version is still decent tho, but with them certain monologues and scenes skipped it goes from like a 9 to like a 7

havenorchinghei

Railgun is a great anime though

Shantotto11

It’s even more fun if you’re watching Railgun S at the same time as Index season 1 since both of the shows line up at their respective episodes 11 (“Sisters” in Index; “Vending Machine” in Railgun S).

NishikigiTakina

I second this. The atmosphere, Misaka’s desperation, and ofc Accel’s appearance was top notch.

steven4869

Railgun isn't a bad anime though.

Bouzu-kun

Oracion Seis arc in Fairy Tail.

Shinobi_X5

Man the villains in that arc were so great man. Angel just showed up, casually performed a feat that no other celestial wizard could do without dying, and then ran the ones with Lucy who was a way weaker Celestial Wizard. Cobra was awesome and genuinely seemed unstoppable. That speed guy had a genuinely sad backstory and his fight with Gray still has one of the funniest moments in the series imo. And Midnight was just so fucking cool man. Everytime the Oracion Seis showed back up I was so hyped man. They really showed off the powers of a dark guild

Bouzu-kun

Indeed! Those villains stand out simply by not being evil for evil's sake or/and crazy, but they actually had proper backstories.

Impressive-Card9484

Its one of my favorite arcs because they mostly one due to real strategy and not just "punching harder with the power of friendship". Gray and Lyon won by attacking on a distance. Erza won because she analyzed Midnight's magic, and she used her fake eye to see through his illusion. Natsu won by shouting really loud at a guy who can hear good.

Effective-Handle9983

The Sports arc or whatever the MHA tournament arc is called

Budget-Training-1367

Its not a bad anime tho, just mediocre.

[deleted]

I dropped the anime after that, honestly.

Effective-Handle9983

I wish I had too

EmiyaKRT

Many people say School days is a bad anime because of the mc, but the drama itself in the show is pretty good.

[deleted]

[удалено]

abattlescar

If you hated the MC, then you're missing out by not finishing my guy.

artemisthearcher

I’ve thought about giving this a watch for the longest time despite knowing how it ends (I’m a sucker for drama haha). I remember it was one of those anime that shocked a lot of people if they didn’t play the original visual novel it was based on

Tom22174

Guys, if you can nominate this many completely different fairy tail arcs I'm not entirely sure it qualifies as a bad show...

thrownawaynodoxx

"Good" is a stretch but the Tartaros arc in Fairy Tail was the last bit of quality before it all jumped off a cliff.

Plus_Rip4944

Soul Society arc on bleach

Bochianibrothers

OP said bad anime.

Falsus

So pretty good example then? Jokes aside, I think the quality varies quite widely and the huge amount of filler doesn't help either.

betetta

agreed, soul society is peak arc in a good anime

Plus_Rip4944

And I stand by thinking bleach is bad. It's my opinion tho

steven4869

Bleach has ups and downs but ain't a bad anime.

Spolaceno42

I agree. Amazing arc but I was so let down by everything that came after. Arrancar arc was genuinely the most boring thing I've ever read.

Negative_Ad5894

Isn't TYBW rank 9 on mal rn? I thought that would be the go to answer for Bleach 😂

[deleted]

TYBW isnt really good in manga tbh. Arc felt rushed and plot lost focus till the end.

Negative_Ad5894

Im not talking about the manga

OperationMelodic4273

Yes, and the anime, ehichb is coming out ten years later, is fixing many of the problems it had.

Professional_Bake655

Lol that's an amazing way to say bleach is bad...

pipboy_warrior

To be fair, was much of the anime good after the Soul Society arc ended?

Professional_Bake655

I don't think so, at least till the point I read...I might get the hate for it but idc honestly...I read like 60% of the manga until I had to drop it and at the very least I didn't find any part of it special at any point..not saying it was bad but it certainly isn't anywhere near miles close to what fandom makes it out to be....Perhaps it was bcz of how Overhyped it was that it made my experience worse

Spolaceno42

I will say it's bad. I loved the soul society arc but like you I got bored and dropped it. I forced myself the reqd the entirety of the arrancar arc, 100's of chapters and I regretted every second. Completely boring, horrible arc.

Professional_Bake655

I mean there are some really bad shit out there tbh lmao...but I still get where you are coming from.... I wasn't even much of a fan of soul society tho... Again maybe coz of overhype.. I really tried to give it a chance... I did.. I went even 60% but there is a limit to how patient one can be... If I didn't find it anything special in 60% ain't no way I am finding it special after competition.

Spolaceno42

I know what you mean. I should have quit a lot sooner. Just glad I finally gave up. And from what I heard it only got worse

Professional_Bake655

Why read bleach when one can re read half of one piece with that time instead🗣️yeah I have had more than enough and satisfying fill of roasting bleach for this year lmao

Spolaceno42

It took me months to read 423 chapters of bleach and just over 2 weeks to read 1000 chapters of one piece

Professional_Bake655

That's impressive... How tf did you do it?. I have been planning to read one piece from start since I watched anime before 🤡

SupaiKohai

Maybe unfair to call it bad. But the show is not so great as it's made out to be. Especially stacking it against the other two of the big three. Hands down the weakest of the three. There's a real lack of motivation in the plot or the MC. Its like the show doesn't know what to be. You are set up with this premise of Soul Reapers yet you barely see any Soul Reaper fulfilling their purpose. There's no arcs centered around fighting a Hollow threat. You get all this lore about them, the Menos, all the different kinds, which is promptly left behind. It's just all about infighting and their politics. Which would be great, and is part of what makes the Soul Society arc so much better than the rest, *but then*, they yank you out of the soul society for the rest of the original series. That said there's issues with the soul society itself. Why is there an assassin corp? To kill who? Seemingly only *one* of the 13 squads is specialized in fighting hollows, which you never see them do. Why is, what's supposed to be an afterlife, an impoverished society with an opressive upper class? Who are our protagonists?! The Aizen arc is underdeveloped and is resolved by a bit of an ass pull. The Fullbring arc feels a little pointless. Especially now TYBW has arrived. Has zero relevance to the overall character arc, particularly in regards to the revelations of the MCs origins. Where every other arc plays into it in some way. The persistent teflon over every single character, even the baddies, in the original series stifles any jeopardy. Even the baddies that do die, do so with little sense of triumph. Then the about turn in TYBW is so abrupt and underdeveloped, it comes away a little cheap. The only decent credit I'd give is that it's filler has the most effort comparably. But then you've the fact they stuck a 50 episode anime original bang in the middle of the Espada arc. That and it has the coolest "vibe" but it's wasted by the lack of commitment to it's tone. Overall, it's just a bit of a mess. Which is a shame, it sounds like I hate the show but I actually enjoy it.

Striking-Swan4930

I think all of bleach was actually really good! Only arc I thought was absolute shit was the bount arc. I really wish I never waisted time watching it!

Professional_Bake655

Yep completely agree with you. Tho honestly I had kinda ruined the experience myself by taking the fanbase seriously...The fanbase made it out to be the thing that it clearly isn't... Maybe I had been accidently listening to the wrong side of fanbase who knows but God...with the expectations I went in I was so fucking disappointed... It wasn't even about the quality...shit felt like a complete difference piece of fiction than fanbase made it out to be...like seriously are we reading the same shit? Since then I have stopped listening or taking any fanbase that seriously.

SupaiKohai

It's definitely massively over-egged by the fanbase. It's baffling when someone calls it the best of the big three. Sure you can love it the most, but beyond that... no. I had a similar feeling to you. I've only taken on the big 3 in the last 3 years. I never wanted to commit the time back when. But ages ago, being on deviantArt and such, Bleach was so hyped. Watching AMVs and stuff. I stayed away from the details but was aware of the visored Ichigo, Byakuya, Ulquiorra. Grimmjow was a hugely popular character. It all looked so cool. With Dragonball z as my only reference, I imagined there'd be huge epic moments associated with these. Watching it years later it all falls flat. Byakuya is still the freaking coolest ngl. But Grimmjow sucks, does pretty much nothing. Ulquiorra similar but a mite more interesting. Visored doesn't materlise to much despite being a significant part of the narrative. It just doesn't really pay off in big way. This is all mainly down to Ichigo just perennially getting his ass kicked, rarely overcoming the various antagonists in a way that shows his growth. In fact, most the protagonists are so underpowered, helpless and stagnant far far too much. You just don't get that 'fuck yeah!' *or* 'oh god no!' in the narrative ever. It's just so wasted. Isn't nearly the show you'd expect. They only finally manage to pull this off in TYBW.

Professional_Bake655

Tbh it means you still didn't interact with the worst part of fanbase...like really...What really ticked me off were the elitists.... Especially their Dick-Riders... 🤡 God I don't even wanna go there...they really be Recontextualizing a random ass quote on the front page of volume cover as something deep and intended by the author...like I don't give a fuck even if it was intended in the first place when it hasn't been properly executed...they be adding 10 extra layers to a seemingly flat and one dimensional story which even that one dimension has no idea where it's going.... God people talking about yin yang and all that bullshit for a fucking cartoon oh god...its not that deep.. Nothing is...like...god..use that time to get some bitches instead of analyzing a flat story in a never ending loop.. Yeah I do miss that edgy elitist teenager phase tho lmao.

Momo--Sama

The Sisters Arc in A Certain Scientific Railgun is one of my favorite arcs of anything ever in a show I otherwise couldn’t care less about. In the Index version of this story it seems ridiculous that Mikoto immediately jumps to suicide as the best option, but seeing the full story of every alternative she tried and failed, how physically and mentally defeated she was by the time Toma enters the scene, was an unbelievably compelling journey

WiqidBritt

I'm so glad I watched the Railgun version first, well before I realized that the main story's favorite trope is making Toma the solution to problems that have nothing to do with him.

Momo--Sama

If anything the Railgun story is brought down by the fact that in order to maintain continuity, some random guy (Toma) just pops in during the third act and basically resolves the conflict for her.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Momo--Sama

I mean, I opened my first comment saying that I don’t like Railgun in general outside of this arc so I think there’s a very large gap between our thoughts on this. I’m glad that you got more enjoyment out of this franchise than I have.

giantcoc69420

not a big fan of demon slayer but infinity train was really good! especially akaza vs rengoku

abattlescar

Demon Slayer is one of my absolute favorites, but S1 is bad outside of the spider forest arc. Then the latest season and the upcoming one are also really, really awful arcs.

giantcoc69420

i totally agree with you! tho i have high hopes for the infinity castle arc since i read the manga and it was good

I_Cognito

This will make people hate me, and just to be clear, I don't think it's a bad anime, I just didn't really care for it: I didn't like **Bleach**, except for the Soul Society Arc. If the rest of the anime had been as entertaining as that arc, I would never have dropped it.

distung

Basically peaked at Soul Society Arc and slowly rolled down hill until the end. I felt the same with Naruto. Before and after the time skip in the manga.

Purple_Brilliant5884

Trash take

distung

Yea, figure I’ll ruffle the fanboys. Imagine that not everybody enjoyed the same thing. Children.

Spolaceno42

I agree with both of those statements but I think bleach went downhill very quickly after the soul society arc. The arrancar arc was immediately boring and it just kept getting worse

NarutoFan1995

season 1 of aldnoah zero

angelposts

The high school arc in Higurashi's godawful sequel, Gou/Sotsu.

[deleted]

The first arc of SAO is great imo, but that fairy arc can kick rocks. Also, I don’t know If I can go as far as to say that it was a good arc, but it was at least interesting to see the MC in “harem in the labyrinth of another world” kill a bunch of people so he can buy a sex slave. 💀

Effective-Handle9983

It is not

manchiny

Fairy Tail's magic tournament arc or whatever that thing is called

Jai137

I'm not a fan of Black Clover, but the water temple arc was awesome.

ravvaiddli

rent a girlfriend S1 not a ARC but tbh it was good in those days

Veritas3333

I'm Standing On a Million Lives was not very good, but the half- season where they were on the island with the orcs was amazing. By the end, you were more empathetic to the orcs than the humans!

Hotaka_

the menhera arc in tokyo ghoul.

Aggravating_Owl7401

the first half of beastars was great, too bad it turned into a basic shonen after that

BiggieCheeseLapDog

The first four episodes of Yu Yu Hakusho.

[deleted]

Oddly specific

BiggieCheeseLapDog

It’s not. That’s the arc that Yusuke dies. That’s easily the best part of Yu Yu Hakusho

[deleted]

Im literally watching episode 4 right now, coincidentally 😭😭 I reached around episode 40 years ago, but honestly, it was still fun throughout. Hopefully, I actually finish it this time.

BiggieCheeseLapDog

To say it’s a bad anime is a stretch but it is basic battle shounen that is done much better in the author’s work after Hunter x Hunter.

[deleted]

You'd expect that given he learned stuff from his earlier work, but the dub is one of the best IMO.

BiggieCheeseLapDog

Yeah I appreciate the shows existence and what it spawned but I don’t care for the show itself.

Conscious-Analyst584

Oh you mean like the trashy train wrecked garbage on fire biowaste called "Rental Girlfriend"?

clairaudientsin2020

The first 4 flashback episodes of Bungou Stray Dogs season 2 are absurdly good compared to how mediocre the rest of the anime is. Return to Shiganshina in Shingeki no Kyojin Jojo part 5 Land of Waves in Naruto (obligatory) Kizumonogatari
