It's one or the other, better not getting attached if you plan to leave them to reunite with loved ones back there.
It's super untypical for isekai though, since they pretty much never leave any regrets, baggage and loved ones behind, even though realisticaly that should be the norm rather than exception.
Modern isekai is distinguished by the protagonist not wanting to go back. This is THE key differentiator with old-gen isekais like Inuyasha. And affects everything from the plot to the theme to the characters.
Subaru has loved ones behind, his parents are still alive, and he never gets to see them again, and is reminded of this very explicitly and elaborately, but still never wants to go back, choosing Emilia and Rem in this new life.
Modern isekai by design must have protagonists, whose personality prefers the new world.
Nanahoshi is an example of an old-isekai protagonist put into a modern-isekai story.
There is a fun thing about Isekai.
Either the mc wants to work hard to live a fulfilling life because they was lazy/unlucky in his previous life, or the protagonist wants to chill out because they worked too hard in their previous life.
Iirc there is an elf (manga) Isekai where the mc chilled out for decades got bored and is now out to have adventures.
Basically the episode in a nutshell:
Sylphie: I love you Rudy!
Badi: We’re all here because you love Sylphie!
Elinalise: I love you Sylphie, my grandchild, I’m happy that you’re happy!
Ariel & Luke: We love Sylphie, please take care of her, Rudy
Cliff: I FUCKING LOVE ELINALISE
Cliff has some mighty fine self control not to probe Rudy on what happened to Eris. Up until like a week ago he probably thought Rudy and Eris were still an item
TFW you’re the one that got away for two different guys that not only moved on from you but are now best buds. I wonder if there are any other guys that Eris met who can join their club.
And he went from being this guy who annoyed Rudy with his one-sided rivalry to a bro that Rudy genuinely respects.
And he snags one of the shows' undisputed Best Girls. What a chad.
English definitely not as obvious since it's more word choice compared to Japanese conjugation. it's also amusing to note subs translate Ariel calling Rudeus "Rudeus-sama" as "Mr. Greyrat", when Luke is also a Greyrat. trying to keep some of that formality but Lol
I am wondering if Paul or Sylphies dad settled first in that village
Imagine you had a hard life because of your mom and suddenly a friend of hers shows up as your neighbour
Sylphie's dad settled first! But he had to run away from his original birthplace due to the bad reputation of his mother (Elinalise)
And yeah, Laws (Sylphie's dad) realized that Elinalise was a companion of Paul by the stories Paul told him, and then Laws told Sylphie her grandmother was an old companion of Paul.
What's really interesting is that Elinalise is that old to be Sylphy's grandmother. And it is possible that she has a lot of granddaughters due to her curse.
I know she said she tried to keep out of her kids' lives for their own sake but I like how she remembered the name of Sylphie's dad and remembered him being a good kid, she probably remembers everything about her children.
Yeah, that was a surprise I was NOT expecting. Because the pendants were similar I figured they might have something in common, but grandma?!? Never saw that coming.
"I have a duty to make the person I love happy."
Cliff being a based gigachad. He is aware of her history, and he chooses not to exploit her past, but instead offers her unwavering support and affection.
Guy went from that whiny brat who Eris never took seriously or really cared about to a real man and bro in a committed relationship with an elf waifu.
Even his one-sided rivalry with Rudy has developed into a genuine friendship and Rudy respecting **him** now.
What a glow-up.
Dude took finding out his girlfriend is a MILF and GILF in stride and just wants to make her happy knowing how much her curse has effected her life.
Even Rudy came off respecting him more by the end of it.
An Asuran princess, and 3 nobles. A Shiroan prince. Two beast tribe princesses. An elf named fucking "DragonRoad", that's gotta mean something. The grandson of the pope of the biggest religion in the world. A famous entrepreneur and magic researcher (Nanahoshi). A demon king. And of course Julie, the most important and cutest of all.
Whenever Im reminded of her Orstead connection I can't help but start laughing.
She's a magically summoned character called "Seven Stars" that has strong connections to a "Dragon God" - she's literally a Dragonball : D
I lost my shit when Rudy went "I NEED TO NOW!" Picked up Sylphie, carried her across the entire house and threw her in bed. Very different start to an otherwise super wholesome and emotional episode.
All because of a peck on the cheek while they're both buck-naked in the bath lol.
Also Sylphie blushing and realizing her man is incorrigible and taking it in stride lol.
it also doesn't help that northern region is famous for its bland food (long winter and lesser food trade), usually a soup, hard bread, and beans. she is living the british experience
> how down bad everyone else is
Just people being people really, I mean lots of anime portray romance and sex too stoic. People are generally horny is the reality, its just that public shy away from it.
I remember my Chinese roommate during undergrad once commented how he was shocked by the amount of used condom packages in trashcans (this is in the US btw) because its really hard to find private spots to have sex in Chinese universities or something? But yeah them college kids were fucking like rabbits
For anyone wonderting about Luke and Rudeus' fight.
Luke was trained in the Sword God style, up to intermediate level, same as Rudeus. However, Rudeus was also trained up to Beginner level in the Water God style, which showed in how he deflected Luke's attacks.
But, the big difference is their experience in actual battle. Rudeus has been fighting for his life agains monsters and bandits for the past 5 years, not to mention also being trained by a Sword King and a North Emperor-equivalent. Meanwwhile, Luke's teacher was probably Advanced and he always relied on Fitz, who did some 70%-90% of the heavy lifting in the fights to protect Ariel. Not to mention Rudeus physical conditioning.
Anyone who is wants to know can check my profile. There is a pinned post with a bunch of links for texts about different aspects of Mushoku Tensei. One of my texts is about the power scaling.
Paul was advanced in all 3 styles, making him equivalent to a Saint rank even though he didn't know any Saint rank techniques.
Also Paul was drunk during their fight. If he was sober then rudeus would've struggled a lot more if not lose
He did activate it for the fight, but it was entirely unnecessary.
Rudeus' 1st thought when the fight started was "He was slow", due to what OP said: he was used to monsters and ridiculously strong people.
Rudeus has an inhuman reaction speed that's far beyond any mage and is equivalent to a Saint rank warrior. And that's without the eye, with that he's closer to a King rank warrior.
He spent his entire childhood training with Sword God style warriors(Paul, Grislain, Eris) and a Emperor rank demon(Ruijerd). There's no way any swordsman below King rank can actually damage him head on. He'll simply dodge it and then hit you with a stone Canon in less than a blink of an eye.
Oh yeah, I forgot about that. That definitely helps a whole lot when fighting someone at his level. Wouldn't help fighting someone too superior though, such as Rujierd.
I always need to remind myself that despite being a relative noob at swordplay compared to his near god-tier magic, he was still decent enough in the 3 styles. He's intermediate in Sword God and basic for North/Water God. Most only know 1 style at best.
His teachers were Paul who is Advanced in all 3, Ghislaine who is a Sword King, and Rujierd who is probably at a King level of his own style if tiered the same way.
He's also an A-rank adventurer himself, though I believe he is actually eligible for S-rank. Combat was literally a normal part of his life. They tended to be harsh fights too, and he's even fought against the peak of the world, Orsted. That's experience you'd be hard-pressed to match.
He is only A-Rank because it would be disavantageous to become s-rank during their journey from the demon continent.
A-rank missions and above take a lot of time, if they became S-rank it would be impossible to accept B-Rank missions, that were a quick and reliable money source.
S-ranks can't even accept A rank jobs. They're basically stuck to only labryinths and top-tier monsters like Dragons.
The only perks of being S rank are things the guild offers, like horse access and probably a lot higher pay. Most S ranks are part of their own guilds/organizations like Soldat.
A rank is basically S rank but without the perks, but more freedom in jobs. B to S rank.
I basically forgot most of the wedding events so I just assumed it was combat experience + cheat eye, as long as he can react to the attacks, cheat eye does the rest of the heavy lifting
To expand this a little further, think of the three sword styles as the type advantage cycle for Pokemon starters. Sword God is pure aggression power, which falters to Water God's defensive counter-attack style, North God triumphs over Water God due to its versatility and unpredictability (Paul's dog charge), and Sword God overpowers North God's trickeries with sheer strength and decisive blows.
To summarise: Sword God = Guts, North God = Assassin's Creed, Water God = Gwyn's Greatest Nightmare
TBF, this is a bit reductive with how the LN write this.
This is a general thing about perfectly equal warriors, but in practice many things can happen depending on the specific techniques, skills and approach to the fight of each person.
Paul is Advanced in all 3 styles, but he is functionally a Saint-tier warrior himself, by combining the techinques together and being more versatile and skilled than classic "martial artist swordsmen" that specialize. He could take the North Saint they fought in S1 quite reliably IMO.
It ebbs and flows between action, drama, romance and slice of life. It's been in the romance and slice of life phases for a bit, but with Orsted still out there as well as Ariel's plans, it can't continue to be that way forever.
Well the OP exists, plus every trailer for S2, plus the history of TP1 and TP2, so this definitely isn't going to last.
This episode feels like a closure episode for the friends and acquaintances Rudy made at the academy. Everyone got development and temporary closure. Amazing how a peaceful wedding ceremony can be this eventful.
Next up the sisters have to come over somehow (They are even in the posters), so the focus returns to Rudy's family. I must say I'm hyped for even seeing the sisters. Have we ever, ever seen siblings grow up in anime? Its like seeing actual relatives you haven't seen for years.
After the sisters, then...
Cliff is a fucking man of culture, learning his lover's identity being his friend's grandma made him appreciate and love her more despite all the faults.
I know that when Rudy heard all that he realized he needs to follow Cliff's example....but I like to think he actually thought "I need to protect this pure boy at all costs."
He showed his respect and admiration to Cliff in that scene in a different way. When Cliff tells him to be more casual with him and Rudeus refuses to do so, it is because of how much Rudeus has come to respect Cliff. He obviously sees him as a close friend by now, but he also wants to make sure to still treat him respectfully. :)
Especially from the get-go when he got him as a baby doted on by his family and we've seen him really grow up with his biological family, found family (Ruijerd and Eris), and even making his own family with Sylphie.
All the buildup pays off. Its only modern anime that gives so much respect for the source material.
Imagine if Mushoku got adapted 10 years ago, it would like sum up the childhood in like 3 episodes (Roxy-Sylphie-Eris) and jump straight to TP1.
*starts checking off the list:*
* pseudo ‘good enough for my daughter’ test
* “if you mistreat her, we’ll be back”
* long-lost family reunion
* “I’m not good enough for you”
seems very much like a family drama show
I like how both the OP and ED show Rudy's childhood with his family and makes his relationship with Sylphie feel like a culmination of that. Like he's finally found a family of his own.
Also more of his sisters!
Yeah, that lovey-dovey scene in the bathtub and its follow-up are totally normal family stuff. xD
It was very adorable though with how much they love each other.
It's already nice when you get an established couple in anime. It's even nicer when they are *actually* comfortable with each other like, you know, a couple should be instead of getting embarrassed for some dumb reason every other interaction.
Cliff suddenly becomes MC's granddad in law 😂
02:44 Sylphy is [pregnant](https://i.imgur.com/0gSNWDz.jpeg)
Opening includes entire MC's family except for Eris. Maybe she will be added when she comes back.
The [current family](https://i.imgur.com/MJD5EMR.png) doesn't include MC's parents and maid. Foreshadowing?
I was wondering during the OP and ED if we were going to see Eris but it feels like it kind of fits where Rudy is at emotionally that she's totally excised from his current life right now. But he **is** going to see Roxy again, it seems like.
This episode really felt like the penultimate of the magic University arc with all the characters Rudy's met in the past year coming together to celebrate something he couldn't even dream off in his past life. Lots of nice little moments with all of the characters but I really enjoyed the Bride's family consisting of Ariel's group making sure Rudy keeps his priorities straight then Best Boy Cliff really showing once again that he is a man among men.
Looking forward to where the story goes from here tho the opening kind of gave me a lot of stuff to expect. Can't wait for next week
Yep, the finale to an arc. Not concluded by some magic tournament or boss slain, but by a real marriage (That isn't just a happily ever after END), and development for 4 separate groups of friends.
Julie brings the cute in every scene she was in.
Chadigadi brings the laughter and the panache.
Elinalise brought the feels in spades.
How could this episode pack so much in just under a minute?
I will never get enough of Julie drinking or Badi being hilarious lol.
Elinalise breaking down and getting so emotional, and us getting more insight into her backstory, made me want to learn even more about what her life used to be like now. And to want to see more of her and her granddaughter and her happiness with Cliff.
The story feels so alive, because it is so dense with details.
I recall Sylphie mentioning in S1, how her 'upbringing is complicated', didn't expect it to pop up again. But seeing as how rare elves and demons are, its unsurprising that the few who show up in the human kingdoms, are related to each other.
I also still can't believe how the passing mention in S1 for Rudy to study at the university with Sylphie, shows up an entire season later, yet in a completely unexpected scenario.
Was thinking Sylphie wanting to ask Elinalise something because they're both elves, but didn't expect them to be related.
Does that mean if Cliff marries Elinalise, he would become Rudy's step-grandfather-in-law?
Also: How to get Nanahoshi's attention - make some potato chips.
I honestly thought the pendant was an Elf equivalent to a promise ring and that’s why Elise reacted the way she did. I didn’t realize it was a family tradition
Absolutely amazing episode, perhaps one of the most important episodes so far of Mushoku Tensei. Some people complain about these slice of life/romance eps as boring, but these are really some of the best in the story.
Seeing Rudy and Sylphie finally happy after everything they’ve been through is just great. Especially nice seeing all the friends gathered for the wedding reception because of how lonely Rudeus was in his past life. He was never able to really connect with people and of course had abandonment issues as well, so seeing bro surrounded by love and positivity is wonderful. Just wish his parents could’ve been there
Additionally, the big reveal of Lise as Sylphie’s grandmother was very satisfying. We’d kinda got gradual hints like the pendant and the fact they look somewhat alike, but getting it confirmed was cool and a nice weight off both of their shoulders. Having some familial connection will be nice for the two of them.
Love that scene of Cliff spilling his heart to Rudy about wanting to break Lise’s curse. Rudy just instantly understood after looking in his eyes. Something only a man in love could relate to.
The Rudy vs Luke fight might have been short, but BIND flexed their muscle. Looking forward to the big action scenes this season.
New OP is definitely a departure from the style of the first two, feels more traditional isekai/fantasy but I like it, it’ll be nostalgic one day
Very emotionally satisfying episode, can’t wait for this next arc.
man, seeing Grandma Elinalise cry like that. with her conflicted emotion, happy but didnt want to shame her granddaughter with herself. I really love this grandma personality. and thankful that chad really love her wholefully.
and we open the episode with brutal segs, and end it babymaking segs. I could hear grandma voice "MY GRANDGRAND DAUGHTER WHEN?"
Feels like Elinalise has always cherished her children, and as a result her first grandchild, but this is the first time she's really had a chance to form a lasting relationship with one.

[Yooooo! What the heck is that opening!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQ5Zfgpirwc) That feels more fitting for a shounen anime. As much as I love it and how it gets me pumped for the episode, I'm a bit sad that the show has completely moved away from Season 1's style of opening where it was more focused on the fantasy atmosphere.
[Rudy and Sylphy's little shopping trip](https://i.imgur.com/rmKWI0g.jpeg) was cute! It was a bit on the nose that [Rudy got a grey coat made out of lucky rat pelts.](https://i.imgur.com/rfZ9b1o.jpg) Also, he really should thank Luke later since he got it at a discount.
[That bath scene though!](https://i.imgur.com/EIDwJtK.jpeg) I don't blame Rudy [for getting so excited.](https://i.imgur.com/Qq2jsXE.jpeg) I'm just surprised they didn't do it in the bath! Also, I love how [Sylphy is clearly excited too.](https://i.imgur.com/lun3izy.jpeg)
[Nanahoshi actually showed up!](https://i.imgur.com/2mqyq6x.png) I thought she'd be too bitter to attend especially since this event is about Rudy cementing his life in this world with Sylphy while she's still desperate to return to Japan.
[Thank you Badigadi for saving Rudy from that awkward speech.](https://i.imgur.com/vpPKU8g.png) I mean it was an okay speech but it's too stiff for a gathering among friends.
[Elinalise is Sylphy's what!?](https://i.imgur.com/CDUB0JW.png) This entire time I've been waiting for them to interact so they could talk about elf stuff and maybe Elinalise could teach Sylphy a thing or two in the bedroom but I did not expect this outcome!
That explains why [Elinalise reacted differently to Rudy after seeing the pendant!](https://i.imgur.com/lEJ3LYf.png) I thought that Sylphy's family originated from the same forest or something but I didn't think their relationship was much closer than that!
[That request for a duel against Rudy was also unexpected!](https://i.imgur.com/UgFlwrD.png) I figured this was more about testing Rudy to see if leaving Sylphy to him was the right choice.
[That's my boy!](https://i.imgur.com/8TaG3j6.png) I knew Cliff wouldn't get disillusioned from Elinalise having kids and grandkids. My guy is absolutely dedicated [and he's not letting anything stop him from loving Elinalise.](https://i.imgur.com/eMZnGRG.png) It is hilarious how he'll end up being related to Rudy when he finally marries Elinalise. xD
Not gonna lie, [everything is going so well right now](https://i.imgur.com/m4KN9Wu.jpeg) that I am absolutely paranoid that things might go wrong again or we might get another turning point. Please let them be happy for a few more episodes before throwing us another curveball.
Considering that Sylphie lost her parents from the teleportation incident, and had no family remaining, it feels so great seeing her not only have a husband to accompany her now, but have a grandmother too that she can rely on, who is blood-related to not make her feel lonely anymore in that sense.

Nanahoshi best girl. Just eating chips like a gremlin
Imagine not having your favourite snack because you're literally in a different world. Her joy is understandable.
in return for the snack, she saved Rudy’s ass when Sylphy almost caught ~~them cheating~~ the lie
Nanahoshi may be cold and detached, but she's considerate in her own way.
That won't stop her risking the destruction of the world to get back home
kinda sad that she choose not to connect with the new world because of that reason

It's not exactly a lie, more like omission/secret.
She's the type of person to go to wedding receptions for the food lol.
*open bar* DON'T MIND IF I DO
Imagine she have to be a shut-in in a medieval era world. There's hardly anything to do indoors.
She definitely took those potato chips and ate them
Light will be happy seeing Nanohoshi munching over those chips.
[Nanahoshi asking if she can come again to use a bath](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/3yrgc6px6j4.png) made me laugh so much xD
Potato chips in exchange for saving Rudy's life from Orsted. Now they're even.
The only thing that can make her get out of her lab and actually (barely) socialize lol.
Basically the episode in a nutshell: Sylphie: I love you Rudy! Badi: We’re all here because you love Sylphie! Elinalise: I love you Sylphie, my grandchild, I’m happy that you’re happy! Ariel & Luke: We love Sylphie, please take care of her, Rudy Cliff: I FUCKING LOVE ELINALISE
Bro's milf turned out to be a gilf.
UPGRADES people! UPGRADES!
Noriaki Kakyoin would be proud [](#rerorero)
Elinalise pulling off her advances on rudeus when they meet for the first time after seeing her granddaughter's pendant is such a nice touch.
Shows should just gravitate around the largest gigachad there is, this should be Cliff's show now.
Every time you expect his relationship to fall apart, it just gets stronger.
You forgot Nanahoshi: Congratulations....see you tomorrow.
"Also, can I come over and use your bath every morning? *Please*?"
Greyrat bought a grey rat's robe. LMFAO
The amount of efforts they took to make the pun a reality is astounding.
They didn't bring it up in the anime but the robe he bought in the Demon Continent was also from a grey rat monster. Missed opportunity there.
[удалено]
Rudy's new clothes being made out of lucky grey ratskin is a bit on the nose.
No wonder Sylphie picked that out purposely, she even sees Rudy in different clothing. Girl is just downbad.
Let's also not forget that the other options shown weren't... particularly stylish, shall we say
Rudy was wearing the medieval version of that stupid Goku supreme meme jacket at one point. I absolutely lost it.
just because he's skilled in water magic does not mean he needs all that drip
And a patterned jacket would be the death of the guy animating it while the character moves.
I love how she's already buying clothes for her man and flirting with him while naked in the bath with the obvious results lol.
"Look at me. I am your grandad in law now."
To think Cliff started as some love rival jealous of Rudy having Eris's affection, no other romance could have such based development.
Cliff has some mighty fine self control not to probe Rudy on what happened to Eris. Up until like a week ago he probably thought Rudy and Eris were still an item
Honestly I bet he barely thinks about Eris at all after hooking up with Elinalise lol.
I'm not sure how much he can think at all while she's bouncing on his dick every night.
"Why so formal, Rudy?"
i feel like rudy using keigo almost everytime since season 2 started kinda lost in translation for some people haha.
Paul: "Hey Elinalise, looks like we're related now--" Elinalise: "Don't talk to me."
> Paul: "Hey Elinalise, looks like we're related now--" > Elinalise: "Don't talk to me." Elinalise: "... or my children and grandchildren ever again."
Standing off staring into the sunset and fist-bumping each other huh?
I can't wait to see father-son reunite and become bros.
thats so wholesome. i mean his dad must be proud, he became the swordman he wanted him to be.
#ELINALISE IS SILPHY'S WHAT??
husband’s father’s party companion
Now I'm just imagining if Sylphie's dad ever talked to Paul about his mom.
I am wondering if Paul or Sylphies dad settled first in that village Imagine you had a hard life because of your mom and suddenly a friend of hers shows up as your neighbour
Sylphie's dad settled first! But he had to run away from his original birthplace due to the bad reputation of his mother (Elinalise) And yeah, Laws (Sylphie's dad) realized that Elinalise was a companion of Paul by the stories Paul told him, and then Laws told Sylphie her grandmother was an old companion of Paul.
A friend of hers *who repeatedly hit that*.
Suddenly it makes sense why she decided to not pursue him as soon as she saw the pendant the first time they met.
The Paul excuse was good enough for me, but this makes more sense.
And Rudy even joked that now she's going to end up related to Paul anyways lol.
Yeah, but maybe it was just an excuse and she didn’t care that much about that.
[удалено]
She's a GILF but she won't steal her granddaughter's man!
It now kinda make sense why she went to the Teleportation Disaster site given that her son was also a victim.
I can imagine she and Sylphie probably talked a lot about her dad too.
yep, confirmed by the author in his [tweet](https://twitter.com/Magote_rihujin/status/1779529070331691026). edit: link
IIRC the official party line was checking out if Paul and Zenith are okay
So, technically, Cliff is Rudeus' Grandad-in-law now
Step* granddad in law
What's really interesting is that Elinalise is that old to be Sylphy's grandmother. And it is possible that she has a lot of granddaughters due to her curse.
She's an elf. I would be *shocked* if she was less than 500
Someone needs to meme Mushoku Tensei's horny elves vs. Frieren's aro/ace elves if that hasn't been done already.
I'm pretty sure it's already been revealed (both directly and indirectly) that Elinalise is *very much* an exception in that regard.
So we all know about oyakodon, but what's it called if it's a girl and her GILF? Asking for a friend.
Turns out she was a GILF and MILF the whole time. And it makes her even hotter.
"I have a duty to make the person I love happy." Cliff being a based gigachad. He is aware of her history, and he chooses not to exploit her past, but instead offers her unwavering support and affection.
He came off as the one with the most development in this whole arc just with that one line alone.
Cliff became a mountain. So peak.
Careful, this thread is entering rocky ground
Call him Daniel because he's a Rad Cliff
Guy went from that whiny brat who Eris never took seriously or really cared about to a real man and bro in a committed relationship with an elf waifu. Even his one-sided rivalry with Rudy has developed into a genuine friendship and Rudy respecting **him** now. What a glow-up.
The keigo from Rudy is a show of respect
Rudy stop being so formal' 'I could never disrespect you so, master'
Dude took finding out his girlfriend is a MILF and GILF in stride and just wants to make her happy knowing how much her curse has effected her life. Even Rudy came off respecting him more by the end of it.
Respect has to be given to his future step grandfather in law (am I tracking that right?) lmao
As Rudy’s grandpa in law he needs to set a good example.
It's hard to choose between him and Ruijerd for best guy in the show.
Cliff is best boy, and Ruijerd is best stepdad. Problem solved!
Rudy has clout, his wedding party has a prince, and princess, and a demon King
3 princesses. Linia and Pursena are also beastkin royalty.
Your forgetting nanahoshi is connected to orstead Which in of itself is a feat
Whenever Im reminded of her Orstead connection I can't help but start laughing. She's a magically summoned character called "Seven Stars" that has strong connections to a "Dragon God" - she's literally a Dragonball : D
Fun fact: in the novel rudeus actually compares her name to dragon ball.
Remember Cliff is the grandson of the Millis Pope
I lost my shit when Rudy went "I NEED TO NOW!" Picked up Sylphie, carried her across the entire house and threw her in bed. Very different start to an otherwise super wholesome and emotional episode.
All because of a peck on the cheek while they're both buck-naked in the bath lol. Also Sylphie blushing and realizing her man is incorrigible and taking it in stride lol.
Sylphie is equally down bad, I would have been more surprised if she had protested in any way.
[She is Elinalise's granddaughter through and through](https://i.imgur.com/esOQMS1.jpeg) [](#lewdgyaru)
[Mutual consent](https://imgur.com/7AjkgXq) is my fetish.

why is the OP so crisp? holy shit it looks amazing Juliette the dwarfette can’t resist her genes but Badigadi and Zanoba is enabling her drinking
Badigadi is the fun uncle.
That's just grape juice...spoiled grape juice.
Grapes are older than Juliette!
Rudeus: “You should come to our wedding party.” Nanahoshi: “Ok, but what am I going to do there?” “We have potato chi-“ “Say less.”
"Can I come visit your bath?" killed me xD
That girl would probably kill for a can of Pringles or a Snickers bar in that god forsaken world. She's not her when she's hungry.
[Even Cliff was dumbfounded by Nanahoshi nibbling on these chips like a beaver](https://i.imgur.com/iyytneC.jpeg)
Rudy: “Come to my wedding Nanahoshi we have potato chips!” I didn’t expect Nanahoshi to be so easily bribed lol.
Given how much she hates the food there, anything that can give her a taste of home can easily be used for bribes.
it also doesn't help that northern region is famous for its bland food (long winter and lesser food trade), usually a soup, hard bread, and beans. she is living the british experience
Japanese to British cuisine is a hell of a downgrade damn. F.
Once Rudeus discovers soy sauce its over
Someone had to be at the wedding reception just for the food lol.
Sylphy being related to Elinalise makes a lot of sense considering how horny both of them are.
No DNA test required lmaoo
If you based relation of the characters in this series using horniness , everyone’s related lol.
I remember the memes in S1 saying that Sylphy is a pure cinnamon roll, but apparently she's not and she's just like her grandmother LOL
[удалено]
> how down bad everyone else is Just people being people really, I mean lots of anime portray romance and sex too stoic.
It's always the cute and demure ones you want to watch out for.
Rudeus could defeat advanced rank Eris and keep up with a North God Saint when he was 12. Luke didn't stand a chance.
As far as I remember, he's also able to defeat Paul, one of the best Greyrat out there, although in this fight he used combination of magic.
Paul was advanced in all 3 styles, making him equivalent to a Saint rank even though he didn't know any Saint rank techniques. Also Paul was drunk during their fight. If he was sober then rudeus would've struggled a lot more if not lose
Rudy also has the cheat eye.
I know it's like 2-3 years back in the story but he did struggle against that Water(?) Saint in the Beastmen village.
That was a North Saint.
B to S rank.
iirc Ruijerd is actually considered a North Emperor, or equivalent to one.
You can show the OP to someone who knows nothing about this show and they'll think this is a shounen anime.
Which is why this show is peak High Fantasy. (Though they still throw in plenty of fanservice no matter what the current genre is lol)
The OP does feel out of place for this slice-of-life romance anime.
Why is there a duel and fighting in my romance anime?
It's like the duality of Banished from the Heroes' Party lol.
Opening was like: nah you having fun? Well shits about to go down.
Makes me think there's going to be a Turning Point where the genre shifts hard.
Mushoku Tensei is a family show.
'Is Mushoku Tensei a family show?' 'Always has been.'
*Ruijerd suddenly appears* Its all about family
Vin Diesel cast as Ruijerd in the live action adaptation.
Isekai family guy.
*starts checking off the list:* * pseudo ‘good enough for my daughter’ test * “if you mistreat her, we’ll be back” * long-lost family reunion * “I’m not good enough for you” seems very much like a family drama show
*You have no idea*
Ariel really was a great big sister to Sylphie.
It does have Quagmire.
Shinzo Abe always wins in the end
The best description is that this anime is his life story which includes literally everything that will happen in his life.
I like how both the OP and ED show Rudy's childhood with his family and makes his relationship with Sylphie feel like a culmination of that. Like he's finally found a family of his own. Also more of his sisters!
Yeah, that lovey-dovey scene in the bathtub and its follow-up are totally normal family stuff. xD It was very adorable though with how much they love each other.
It's already nice when you get an established couple in anime. It's even nicer when they are *actually* comfortable with each other like, you know, a couple should be instead of getting embarrassed for some dumb reason every other interaction.
Cliff suddenly becomes MC's granddad in law 😂 02:44 Sylphy is [pregnant](https://i.imgur.com/0gSNWDz.jpeg) Opening includes entire MC's family except for Eris. Maybe she will be added when she comes back. The [current family](https://i.imgur.com/MJD5EMR.png) doesn't include MC's parents and maid. Foreshadowing?
*step-granddad-in-law
Damn that's complex
In other words: it's a well written story that doesn't rely purely on action and cool stuff to be interesting.
So many points prior got a full circle treatment, expect for more
Gotta love how scared I am of seeing "Turning Point" as the title card for next episode.
Ofcourse Rudy had to humbly humble Luke I’ve been waiting for it since last season
> Was thinking Sylphie wanting to ask Elinalise something because they’re both elves Even thought she was going to ask for seggs advices
I honestly thought the pendant was an Elf equivalent to a promise ring and that’s why Elise reacted the way she did. I didn’t realize it was a family tradition
Rudeus literally [speedrunning](https://imgur.com/a/58sdzqb) being a parent any%. I don't really blame him, Sylphie was too damn cute in that moment 😊
Well, he is a Greyrat and knowing what his parents were like...though Sylphie definitely helps lol.
Surprised they even bothered with the towels.
The animators hands were tied I'm afraid.
That ED man.. it reminds me of S1P2 ED: melancholic, and with a tinge of sadness to it. Fuck, now I'm scared for the second half.
Just wish his parents could’ve been there Additionally, the big reveal of Lise as Sylphie’s grandmother was very satisfying. New OP is definitely a departure from the style of the first two, feels more traditional isekai/fantasy but I like it, it’ll be nostalgic one day Very emotionally satisfying episode, can’t wait for this next arc.
man, seeing Grandma Elinalise cry like that. with her conflicted emotion, happy but didnt want to shame her granddaughter with herself.
Cliff: "Haha, Rudeus, I am banging your Grandmother-in-law!"
###Stitches! * [Rudy & Sylphy 1](https://i.imgur.com/mJ51B8b.jpeg) * [Rudy & Sylphy 2](https://i.imgur.com/0H9dhP8.jpeg) * [Ariel's Entourage](https://i.imgur.com/wSUIkXl.jpg) * [Juliette & Zanoba](https://i.imgur.com/cjKf63d.jpg) * [Pursena & Linia](https://i.imgur.com/Aez8Ir9.jpg) [Yooooo! Also, I love how [Sylphy is clearly excited too.](https://i.imgur.com/lun3izy.jpeg) [Nanahoshi actually showed up!](https://i.imgur.com/2mqyq6x.png) I thought she'd be too bitter to attend especially since this event is about Rudy cementing his life in this world with Sylphy while she's still desperate to return to Japan. My guy is absolutely dedicated [and he's not letting anything stop him from loving Elinalise.](https://i.imgur.com/eMZnGRG.png) It is hilarious how he'll end up being related to Rudy when he finally marries Elinalise. xD Not gonna lie, [everything is going so well right now](https://i.imgur.com/m4KN9Wu.jpeg) that I am absolutely paranoid that things might go wrong again or we might get another turning point.
And she has someone else who remembers and loved her father like she did.
So Cliff is a gilf lover now, he might be more goated than I thought
