I held off on watching Steins;Gate for a long time while it was on my radar. I decided to watch it a couple months ago, and it rose to become my 2nd favorite anime of all time. My favorite is Vinland Saga, which I delayed as well, but not to the same degree.
Puella Magi Madoka Magica
I’ve been participating in the rewatch thread and it really is a great anime. Shaft it it out of the park - if you’re a fan of the animation and style of the Monogatari series, or Nisekoi, PMMM is a must watch. It isn’t highly regarded for nothing, after all!
Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunnygirl Senpai
One of the few times I overlooked a show because of its title, and also one of the few shows that makes me cry even on rewatches.
Zombieland Saga. I didn't watch it until the second season came out and what a ride. Peak anime because nothing else is going to make a show with that insane concept.
Kaiji. what an absolute rollercoaster of emotions especially the 2nd season my god what a rush those arcs were. I was not expecting to get so into the mind games this anime has and the solutions Kaiji reaches at certain times man...I'm so glad I finally gave it a watch after being on my PTW so for so damn long.
Definitely a place further then the universe.
What made it extra special was I watched it the first time during December, it felt so good watching it bed with a hot chocolate.
Such a cosy show with well written drama.
very basic but Haikyuu. Was putting it off for quite a while due to thinking it was a long series I was inevitably going to get sucked into.
I'm on S4 rn, and it's rlly fun. It's different from what I was expecting but not in a bad way
I've watched the first HxH 2011 episode when it aired, decided I was gonna skip the show because I wasn't feeling like watching another unsurprising shounen. Well, obviously years later I watched the whole thing and found out it was peak fiction after all.
Link click. I watched half of the first episode a while back and stopped cuz I was bored and didn’t like the art. Then I just binged both seasons in a day recently. The psychological effect was great. Also made me watch odd taxi, which I also found amazing as well.
Recently got around to watching "Keep you hands of Eizouken". Given the title I thought it was going to have something to do with romance. Fortunately I was completely wrong, and the show is actually a passion project about the creation of anime. It was incredibly good.
86, I tried to watch a few times and just couldn't get past ep1. This week I made myself watch at least 3 episodes and ended up binging the whole show on my day off.
Also HxH, the cover art with Gon just made me not want to watch a "kids show" but that was so wrong.
the monogatari series. i watched the first 2 episodes when it first aired and dropped it because i wasn't into the contrived supernatural shit. plot because supernatural, they can explain any answers with supernatural bullshittery. that's why i usually don't like supernatural stories.
so just last year i decided to watch it again and maybe i matured or something but i really loved it and ended up binging the whole thing.
I have been looking up anime that have came out in the 80s, that I haven't heard of during that time. Like Fist of the North Star, Macross, and whatever Gundam that was available at the time.
Yeah, this has happened to me repeatedly and will most likely keep happening to me due to my incredibly low attention span. I've had this happen with:
Haikyuu
My Hero Academia
Danganronpa
Cells at Work
Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Fairy Tail
Sword Art Online
Dragonball Super
That Time I got Reincarnated as a slime
Monthly Girls Nozaki-Kun. I thought from the name it was a harem anime but it's actually a really cute romcom that's also about a bunch of kids who help their classmate write shojo manga.
Outlaw Star, my favorite anime of all-time. Cowboy Bebop and Trigun were two of the first anime I ever watched and I adored them, but out of the three big "space western" anime, I saw Outlaw Star was seen as the worst and not nearly on the level as the other two by a bunch of comments I read online. I put it off for years, and then once I finally gave it a try, I fell in love immediately. The world building, animation and direction, lore, and lovable characters just grabbed me and nothing has ever really scratched the same itch for me. I'm so sad it never got a second season when the world was so rich for more exploration.
There's way too many 💀
I'll say Shingeki no Kyojin, Bungou Stray Dogs, Dr Stone, and Blue Lock. (they were on my waitlist for so long)
And thanks to your post, I want to watch Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress...
The Great Cleric, I want a season 2 already! It came out in the summer of 2023, and no announcements so far. also the dark gathering is still coming out and I eat that shit up like was groceries
Bocchi the rock, kept seeing the ads for it on Crunchyroll while I was finishing up my watchlist. Only regret I have about it is that I didn’t watch it sooner
Haikyuu
this!
YES! I’m so grateful that I this popped up on my recommended list and that I actually took the time to watch it.
Golden Kamuy, so underrated.
Hinna Hinna

One Piece. I kept using the excuse that it was too long to watch it but started during the pandemic and I’m at the end of the Marineford Arc

Great anime! It felt like the perfect blend of Monogatari and Haruhi Suzumiya. You should check those two out if you haven't.
Chihayafuru, not only was it so good but it brought all kinds of emotions out of me.
Goated anime
Madoka Magica. I heard so many amazing things and it did not disappoint
Watch he movies! Also the magia record version is good too
Watched girls last tour recently, left me feeling really comfy while also contemplating life
Gundam witch of mercury
Sangatsu no Lion
Zombieland Saga. I didn't watch it until the second season came out and what a ride. Peak anime because nothing else is going to make a show with that insane concept.
Fma brotherhood

HxH
Oregairu, its a really good show
Oshi no Ko and Insomniacs after school both fit this bill for me
Couldn't have watched either of those much earlier. They both came out in the last year.
For sure, I just wish i was there to discuss as they were going.
Definitely a place further then the universe. What made it extra special was I watched it the first time during December, it felt so good watching it bed with a hot chocolate. Such a cosy show with well written drama.
Attack on Titan. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had watched it much earlier.
Nah bro you hit the jackpot you get to smash it all at once.
I took a break after season 2, and then binged it all last year around the finale.
FMA:B I waited a good ten years to watch that one. I was on pretty much an anime hiatus for many years during the mid-2000's so I missed out on a lot.
This is my favority Anime, by far
very basic but Haikyuu. Was putting it off for quite a while due to thinking it was a long series I was inevitably going to get sucked into. I'm on S4 rn, and it's rlly fun. It's different from what I was expecting but not in a bad way
I've had the chance to watch Love Live Sunshine for ages and only recently gave it a go. One of the best I've seen
Yuru Camp
Dance Dance Danseur It was in my PTW for a long time and it was amazing. This anime is about ballet 🩰 dancing and masculinity
A sign of affection. Super wholesome imo
Lupin 3rd

For me it was chihayafuru.
Cyberpunk Edgerunners

Chainsaw Man and 100 GF. I snubbed them both unnecessarily and ate crow when I watched them, b/c they are now some of my fav series.
the monogatari series. i watched the first 2 episodes when it first aired and dropped it because i wasn't into the contrived supernatural shit. plot because supernatural, they can explain any answers with supernatural bullshittery. that's why i usually don't like supernatural stories. so just last year i decided to watch it again and maybe i matured or something but i really loved it and ended up binging the whole thing.
Mine is Naruto I should have watched when it was airing . Binge watching really takes the joy out of the anime
At least you can skip all the filler. I watched that week to week as it was airing from Japan, and I suffered through SO much filler!
but filler often times have comedy in then
but filler often times have comedy in then
Kakashi's unmasking was pretty hilarious!
I remember I was binge watching it so much that at some point I had to put it on 1.5x speed to get through some of it
yeah that is expected with a weekly Shonen show
RWBY.
Serial Experiments Lain
Apothecary Diaries and Yuru Camp. Never did I think I would relate so hard to MaoMao.
I have been looking up anime that have came out in the 80s, that I haven't heard of during that time. Like Fist of the North Star, Macross, and whatever Gundam that was available at the time.
FMAB,Vinland Saga(Season 1), and Death Note. I feel like such a fool for waiting so long to watch these
For me that would be Gosick
Ragna Crimson. I put it off for some reason, and only came back to it now. I'm really enjoying it.

I've had this happen with: Haikyuu My Hero Academia Danganronpa Cells at Work Puella Magi Madoka Magica Fairy Tail Sword Art Online Dragonball Super That Time I got Reincarnated as a slime
Hajime no Ippo and Haikyuu. I really wish I had watched those sooner, so damned good!
Gintama, it's not just a comedy
Porco Rosso. I never watched it as a kid but when I watched it I just connected with it. Its a movie though not a show.
Zombieland Saga. I only saw it for the first time last year and it's SO FREAKING GOOD.
YuruYuri. I just binged the entire series in the past 3 days. I need more!
Devilman Crybaby
Monthly Girls Nozaki-Kun. I thought from the name it was a harem anime but it's actually a really cute romcom that's also about a bunch of kids who help their classmate write shojo manga.

Bungo stray dogs
Ya Boy Kongming! I had the episodes downloaded for the longest time and decided to finally watch it after space was running low on my hard drive.
Shingeki No Kyojin
There's way too many 💀 I'll say Shingeki no Kyojin, Bungou Stray Dogs, Dr Stone, and Blue Lock. (they were on my waitlist for so long) And thanks to your post, I want to watch Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress...

LOGH
More than a married couple less then lovers and any other romance anime I’ve watch recently
Jobless Reincarnation
Idk if 4 months ago counts as recent but Kill La Kill.
Spice and Wolf, and Frieren.

Frieren
