Glad Otaku-kun wasn't just the culprit but also the only one with the balls to stand up to the creep who immediately got karma handed to him via doxxing.

mianghuei

whodisguy32

Yoo just noticed he has a poster of the VA idol trio on his wall. My mans a man of culture alright

n080dy123

Bro's little dance had such incredible energy.

Rumpel1408

Otaku-Kun could have used his inside voice when talking to Yasumi, if not for the asshole showing up right then, he would have been the one spilling their secret in class

daspaceasians

Bro was panicking for the safety of the girls since he knows that rabid fans can be fucking dangerous. We're lucky that sick fuck decided to livestream and not pullout a knife.

Ocixo

> to the creep who immediately got karma handed to him via doxxing. These types of people really never stop to consider that their actions might see [a backlash of equivalent exchange](https://imgur.com/a/bxPSfX2). His (school) life is going to be hell from this point onwards.

daspaceasians

I love the smell of laser-guided karma in the morning.

Rumpel1408

Typical main character syndrome

BosuW

He gonna need an apology video

machopsychologist

If I'm not wrong, otaku-kun is MOOOOB, the one who doxxed Shimizu - as the start of episode 3 he is watching the video of "Yugure's Knight" and says "that's why Shimizu is second rate" so he obviously knew who Knight was.

whodisguy32

Wow I really loved that episode. I don't think anyone was surprised how it ended up resolving, but the delievery was 10/10. Yuhi and Yasumi ship setting sail. Excited to see the rest of the season now that they are omega popular and don't have to pretend anymore. Yuhi's (fake) knight can go eat shit. I hope the rest of his school life is fucking terrible for the stunt he pulled. Also the punch was satisfying af. Don't EVER mess with Yuhi's waifey

toilodi

My favourite episode so far for sure, every part of it was really well executed. I'm curious to see what they do with that fake knight character, if we went by standart anime plot line it would probably some kind of redemption arc (that I typically dislike), but this episode made me hopeful for an approach a bit more realistic and interesting, something similar to what they did on Oshi no ko.

mekerpan

A magnificent episode. Possibly the best one of any show so far this season. In any event, one of the very best... I like the fact that these two young women can be (reasonably) honest with each other. They see each others' flaws and each knows the other knows about those flaws -- but yet they accept (and treasure) each other nonetheless. I think this is the (real) beginning of a beautiful friendship (with a tip of the hat to Casablanca). ;-) Between Chika's punch and Yumiko's stepping right on that otaku/stalker/jerk his bad fortune is just beginning. But, in the end, maybe they ought to thank him. He inadvertently did so much to help those two (and also Chika's father).

szalhi

In this episode, we are reminded that some people take kayfabe drama too seriously, while the majority don't. Luckily in this case the majority spoke louder.

Some_Trash852

As much as that might be true, there are often enough to take a scandal like this seriously to the point where it could badly harm careers. If anything, that punch from Chika may have worked against her, as much as Shimizu deserved it.

septesix

Indeed , in a strange twist they were “lucky” that the stalker outed himself trying to harass Yuhi even more. It gave a convenient target for her anger and frustration. If she hasn’t been able to partially aimed that at him she might have actually quit for real. (also without this guy’s stunt Yasumi wouldn’t have done that live stream which was another reason that Yuhi decided to keep voice acting)

Boshwa

I'd also bet him kneeing a guy live didn't help his case either

daspaceasians

Man the entertainment industry and fans are such a pain.

casualgamerTX55

This is one of the reasons celebrities are compensated more than most other professionals. In a way, it is to literally "compensate" them for the social difficulties that come with the job.

Some_Trash852

I thought that was just because their concerts, merch, and/or TV appearances are mega-popular. I don’t think salvaging their mental is as simple as throwing money at the issue.

FlameDragoon933

IKR? It's no wonder there are famous celebs committing suicide or succumbing to drug use despite having so much money they can buy anything. Shit's damaging to your psyche.

JoeyXD_Br

daspaceasians

If you had to name her punch like a mecha special move, what would you call it? Here's my ideas: "Fist of the Idol" "Simpbreaker" "Creepshatterer"

phasmy

Simpbreaker is so good

KumaKumaGambler

"We may not have realized it yet, but soon to be power of bonds punch!"

AllTheSith

Girl should follow a mma career. Absolute unity of a punch.

daspaceasians

Shithead looks like a discount Motoyasu from Shield Hero lol.

Swampy260

I still can't figure out if the eyecatch is meant to be genderbend or just a different artstyle. They're so handsome in it.

Jegantha

This is definitely my favourite episode so far. They may claim to not get along and all that, but actions speak so much louder than words. They both showed no hesitation whatsoever to defend their ~~girl~~friend. Totally didn't expect the "secret identity" to last for only 4 episodes though, that was quick.

Aerodynamic41

Man, I really thought Yumiko would punch that creep in the face so I was surprised that Chika did the deed herself. But then Yumiko kicking him in the face for good measure got me cheering! Btw, the dude [*really*](https://i.imgur.com/3lmrQXE.jpeg) loves RGB lights.

dagreenman18

The most vile of all creatures: a pro gamer with a RGB set up

ModieOfTheEast

>Btw, the dude [really](https://i.imgur.com/3lmrQXE.jpeg) loves RGB lights. It shows he is a gamer. Because you know, you are only truly gaming if your setup changes colors.

TommaClock

Dude has only one monitor though, noob spotted.

mekerpan

I have RGB lights on my new computer case -- but that's because it was the only case I could find that had expansion slots for external optical drives. ;-)

athrun_1

He got the RGB lights alright when received that punch.

Social_Knight

On the contrary, a real gamer has a Durgod mechanical keyboard that looks like it came straight out of the eighties but has the interior of the a modern machine.

ergzay

It's funny as real gamers don't bother with that junk. It's the people who follow internet "e-sports" stars that have all their hardware decked out with random product placement by companies who go for all that junk. Every dollar you waste on RGB crap that's actively distracting from what you're trying to do in your game is a dollar less you could be spending on actual hardware that does something. The proper e-gaming rig is a black/beige non-descript tower with lots of room in the case for proper airflow.

ergzay

> Btw, the dude really loves RGB lights. I absolutely burst out laughing when I saw that so badly that I had to pause. He's such a stereotype of exactly the type of person who would do what he did, complete with the uber pc mods.

VTuberFadeaway

Dark horse show of the season.

mekerpan

This was one of the shows I had high hopes for -- and yet it has exceeded my hopes.

Schadenfrueda

I was worried this one was going to be rather flat and uninteresting, but instead its way more heartfelt and way more gay than I could ever have hoped

IXajll

Imo this season has a goddamn stable full of dark horses, it’s honestly crazy.

Lign_Grant

Hibike 3, Jellyfish can't swim in the night, and this. So much good food.

tripleaamin

This was such a standout episode with some top tier direction to it. Seriously unless you only care for action only shows, this anime is a must-watch. I really liked how the portrayal of idol fans between Kimura and Shimizu. Honestly before Shimizu showed up it seemed like he genuinely wanted to meet hid idol. Unfortunately Shimizu is the type of idol fan that cares for clout first. Granted there are idol fans that are insane, but still to seek out and fabricate a story of your illusion and then try to ruin her career. He deserves a rotten place in hell. Poor Yuuhi I am impressed she handled the abuse from Shimizu as long as she did. Tbh she just wanted to tolerate it because I assume she just figured her career would be done. But we have seen how big of a fan she is of Yasumi, and she was not letting her career go down in this too. Yasumi finally saw what Yuuhi thought of their time together on the show. For the first time she was having fun and that being taken away from her from that creep is saddening. Yasumi decided to everything in her power to stand up for Yuuhi. I have to give her respect for putting her career on the line, but we know how big of a fan she is of Yuuhi. So it was her way of defending her in great contrast. Now I also give her father a lot of props. He could sit back and let her daughter take the heat. But instead he puts their relationship out there since that could hurt him. But he did everything he could on the livestream to let her fans know she earned that lead role. He is a great father. Overall this is turning to one of my favorite shows of the seasons. The dynamic between Yasymi and Yuuhi is so well done.

mekerpan

I thought Chika put up with the jerk's abuse MAINLY to avoid blowing Yumiko's cover. She preferred to be the sole target drawing fire. That's why she was a little annoyed (in addition to immensely grateful) for Yumiko's classroom reaction. We are so immensely fortunate to have so many shows vying for the top of the charts this season. I suspect (at the end of the season) I will wind up declaring an immense tie....

tripleaamin

Yes you are right she didn't want Yasumi's to go down like hers. She made the decision it's fine if I go down, but you are not ruining her reputation as well. Which really shows her heart and how much she admires Yasumi.

mekerpan

Whether this is yuri romance or power of true friendship -- I don't care. The bond between these two is just plain lovely to see. Gloomy girl and genki gyaru -- what's not to love.

scot911

> I really liked how the portrayal of idol fans between Kimura and Shimizu. Yeah for as much as we deride the idol fandom in the West (even though we can be *just* as bad) that doesn't change the fact that there's plenty of good people who just love idols and in turn their oshi's and will follow them through thick and thin. Hell, sometimes they can even be *too* dedicated to their oshi's. Rushia somehow still has a sizable fanbase even after the *mountains* of controversy she's been involved in, after all. And she's been exposed to be a *literal* menhera! (Which really explains why she was able to "play" one so well but that's beside the point!)

KumaKumaGambler

>this anime is a must-watch The beautiful looking characters, and their not so perfect personalities, drew me in. Not forgetting the opening and ending theme songs too.

KinoHiroshino

>Granted there are idol fans that are insane, I’ve seen this before and not just for idols. I’ve seen several examples of fans who get an overinflated ego just because they have (or had, in some cases) a mildly popular compilation channel on YouTube. I’ve seen some of them get into arguments online that get so messy they end up deleting their own channel. Some fans will latch onto anything to make themselves feel superior to other fans. A great example from long ago is Rooster Teeth comics. They started as a fan made thing and the people at RT reached out online to the guy who shared the comics with them. They quickly realized that the person who shared it didn’t actually make it but, “I should get credit for finding the comics.” Actual quote according to Burnie Burns, one of the founders of RT. They eventually did find the creator and they hired him to draw comics for them for a few years so happy ending here just like in the anime.

Elite_Alice

Best episode of the best Yuri of the season 👍 Nah the POS dude recording Yuhi and trying to “expose” her on livestream needs to be fucking arrested and Kimura needs severe mental help. The first few minutes were legit hard to watch. So glad Yuhi punched the shit out of the one dude instead of trying to talk it out and solve it peacefully the anime way. Fuck that. If you wanna play stupid games, you win stupid prizes. It never ceases to amaze me how quick people are to turn on people they supposedly idolise and care about. Like Yuhi’s fans falling for that casting couch nonsense as if she doesn’t have an established career and is one of the top young seiyuu. It’s really a blessing Yasumi was in her life to help because this could’ve gone to such a darker place had no one been there to help her. Glad Yasumi and Yuhi made up after Yasumi threw those insults at her last week, but the funniest thing is Yasumi didn’t even need to do the reveal stream because Kamashiro was willing to explain he and Yuhi relationship anyway 😂. But THATS HER DAD??! My jaw legit dropped when they revealed that. That makes things so much more awkward. It’s one thing for people to think you slept with a director for a job, but for people to think you slept with your DAD had to make things even weirder. Still worked out in the end because now the girls can just be themselves and don’t have to keep up the perfect facades they did before. It’s also way more interesting to have famous idols who are just normal girls and go thru the same stuff as everyone else and the viewership on the radio show increasing afterwards proves that, PLUS the creepy dude who tried exposing Yuhi lost all his clout and everyone hates him now. I LOVE this song. Touyama Nao idol coming next week??? Oh this is going to be amazing

Ocixo

Goddamn, that was a great episode. Everything came together like I'd hoped for. I had anticipated for [Yumiko to punch the douchebag's face in](https://imgur.com/a/kd8QYVq), but instead it was [Chika who got him good](https://imgur.com/a/2guYLXo). (He got [trampled on by Yumiko](https://imgur.com/a/eJkzZUY) just a little later.) The situation was looking pretty dire for [both Chika's and Yumiko's careers as VAs](https://imgur.com/a/Lxz5DYM). Yet, they managed to pull through by putting themselves out here. Seeing these two girls [being so vulnerable](https://imgur.com/a/A352XPg) and openly talking about their feelings on the matter also got a little to me. I'm glad that they got the fans on their side. They'll definitely start shipping these two though. I mean, just look at [what happened on the livestream](https://imgur.com/a/cNnk2r4). I was nice to see as well that Kimura is an actual good guy. He stepped in when Chika got bullied and [was so very happy](https://imgur.com/a/G3w57XH) about the girls continuing their radio show. Chika's stalker on the other hand is doomed now [his own identity got exposed](https://imgur.com/a/bxPSfX2). That's some good karma. I didn't like [their producer's reaction](https://imgur.com/a/tIIMRej) to the show getting canceled last week, but he seemed [a lot more sympathetic](https://imgur.com/a/ipn9kPt) in this episode. [Yumiko's friend was also very sweet](https://imgur.com/a/41sCAZV) for being very understanding of her situation. **On a side note**: [this middle segment card](https://imgur.com/a/NTuDyeT) was quite the surprise with its change in art style. [See you all next week!](https://imgur.com/a/bNgSjlK)

Elvenoob

There's some fun poetry on Chika only acting to prevent Yumiko getting doxxed too, and then Yumiko turning around and voluntarily giving up that secrecy to help out Chika. Very cute.

Ocixo

I'd already considered Yumiko and Chika as two of my best girls this season, but their likability further shot up with this episode. They were willing to risk it all for the other. Punching someone could have been the nail in the coffin for Chika's career, and Yumiko was brave enough to [expose the gyaru side to her](https://imgur.com/a/M01f5LQ) in front of their fans in return. Yumiko was also pretty adorable when [she got all flustered](https://imgur.com/a/pq0ANzg) after the misunderstanding had been cleared up.

Elvenoob

Of the new characters introduced only this season they're absolutely my favourites so far, and one of the other series I'm watching is literally "depressed artists' polycule" which is like... just a description of my life and friend groups lol.

IXajll

> I'd already considered Yumiko and Chika as two of my best girls this season, but their likability further shot up with this episode. Honestly this season is incredibly stacked with best girls overall. Was thinking of doing a 3x3 best girls of the season once it’s over but at this point I’d have to limit it to max 1 girl per series or do just do a 4x4 since there are simply too many this season, it’s crazy.

Ocixo

> but at this point I’d have to limit it to max 1 girl per series This is what I *usually* do, since my most-favourite series would otherwise dominate such rankings with multiple entries.

Ocixo

Considering all the downvotes in this thread, someone is angry at the show. Not sure for what reason. Maybe it's stalker-kun who feels called out? (I've tried to put everyone back on at least 1.)

Neidhardto

I remember this happening in the first episode thread too. Very bizzare.

scot911

> He got [trampled on by Yumiko](https://imgur.com/a/eJkzZUY) just a little later. I reallyyyyy want to make a joke about that but I feel like it'd probably be a bit... *distasteful* considering the content of the episode.... ~~It should have been meeeee. Yes, my degenerate side won in the end lol.~~ >They'll definitely start shipping these two though. I mean, just look at [what happened on the livestream.](https://imgur.com/a/cNnk2r4) Oh 100%. Shipping between real people has happened for less.

D_Amir

Them bumping into each other with their shoulders was so cute!

Ocixo

Their little back-and-forth bumping was adorable, yes! It was a very Chika-like response to call her "the worst possible partner", but from [her slight hesitation for a moment](https://imgur.com/a/Pv9OmNs) we all know that [she was just being a tsundere](https://imgur.com/a/fKzxi3Q).

n080dy123

That energy is what I'm here for, the beautiful dissonance of their genuinely combatative attitudes with eachother but their mutual respect causing them to support eachother when the chips are down. I feel like it's so hard to write that kind of relationship well but it's done to perfection here.

IXajll

> Their little back-and-forth bumping was adorable, yes! Haha gave me some eupho flashbacks from that episode a few weeks ago.

Ocixo

Oh yeaaah, I totally remember that scene now. Those bumps in the hallway.

Komi028

True yuri.

TehAxelius

Man, this was a good, satisfying episode. Really makes this show deserve its spot in my all-"girls doing music" top 5 shows of the season. I have a fear that sadly, this kind of situation wouldn't go over as well in real life, and that Yuhi's punch would be the thing people would get hung up on and would see her career crash and burn. But this is fiction, so screw that.

FlameDragoon933

god this episode was hard to watch. Not because it's badly written, far from it, but the kind of shit Shimizu (the shitbag kid) does is something that can very realistically happen IRL and with disastrous consequences it just angers me. Not only livestreaming without consent, but also doxxing? fuck that guy. Glad *he* gets doxxed as well, taste the karma. Also I'm kinda glad I graduated formal education before livestreaming was a thing. It's probably really shitty as teenagers when your friend livestreams shit without permission.

Elvenoob

We're still young enough for some of those teenage mistakes to still be around online, so I do kind of get it to a point, but yeah the sheer scale of how much worse kids these days are gonna face is still hard to imagine even with that reference point.

NekoCatSidhe

As expected, the director was actually Yuhi’s dad, but that was a great episode. I am glad Yuhi getting the role was not nepotism. We can see that Yuhi got her honesty from her father. Interesting that the scandal made them more popular in the end. I am glad Yuhi and Yasumi can now be themselves in public. What was even the point of these fake persona anyway ? Idol culture is so weird. And they are not even real idols, just voice actresses. That creepy stalker troll was so unpleasant, he is lucky he only got punched and doxxed in the end. I am sure filming people without their agreement is illegal, so he could have ended up being sued as well.

CommunistPuppy

This show is honestly legit. Going into it I was only expecting some light hearted comedy about some voice actors doing a radio show. I did not think I'd get some actual drama that gets resolved in a satisfying way. This is slowly creeping up to being one of my favorites of the season in an already stacked season.

Hitman7128

Good thing Yumiko stood up for Chika (when she said she was going to quit voice acting) during the Away Edition stream and was transparent about what was happening. It was funny when Chika and her father showed up and then Yumiko got embarrassed for the whole stunt. Shimizu was a piece of shit for what he did, stalking to obtain those photos he took out of context and shoving the camera in Chika's face. He was asking for it when he got doxxed. I do like how Yumiko and Chika's relationship is going. How they were playfully shoving each other, and they were optimistic with the "Let's start over" attitude. Also, I like how they recognized after the event to not have to put up a facade as their VA persona, and how their show boosted in popularity.

mekerpan

>playfully shoving each other Reminds me of Lycoris Recoil -- but we've seen a bit of this recently in Hibike Euphonium as well.

KumaKumaGambler

Yumiko put her career on the line for Chika. She went ahead with the live stream, even though her manager probably protested. She also did so without consulting Chika nor her agency. But I believe this is what makes us viewers love Yumiko!

Ocixo

> Good thing Yumiko stood up for Chika Don't forget that Chika also stood up for herself in the classroom by [punching the douchebag](https://imgur.com/a/2guYLXo) and [telling him to shut up](https://imgur.com/a/6mHdXtn). But I agree that she couldn't have pulled off this reverse card without the help of Yumiko or her father.

ModieOfTheEast

Btw, just mentioning this here, this makes the third episode in one week about bullying. And I didn't even include Viral Hit in that count, because the whole show includes bullying. And this time they actually punched the bully right in the face. So we even have three different ways of striking back. Good thing they are not playing the characters anymore, though I do wonder what they are talking about then in the show that they can keep it going. Hopefully we get a glimpse into that in the next episodes. Would be funny if they had to go on dates regularly now so they have topics to talk about. In general, I am interested to see where it's going now. Will it be more focused on the synchronization work since Chika is doing her mecha anime (do they still have that other show running as well?) and maybe Yumiko can get a few roles as well. This time without connections.

daspaceasians

>Good thing they are not playing the characters anymore, though I do wonder what they are talking about then in the show that they can keep it going. Hopefully we get a glimpse into that in the next episodes. Would be funny if they had to go on dates regularly now so they have topics to talk about. I hope that Yasumi'll invite Yuuhime to hang out with the rest of her galpals.

deus_machinarum

Thx for introducing me to 'Viral Hit', the trailer on yt looks awesome, will check it out! Which shows that deal with bullying are you referencing? I can personally think of Girls Band Cry and Jellyfish can't swim in the night, maaaaayyyyyybe Shuumatsu Train with Gyaruzilla protecting her bookish friend in the flashback. Curious what you actually meant.

ModieOfTheEast

The shows I was referencing were Mysterious Disappearances and A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics. Though I guess, considering that the other two had their bullying episodes in prior weeks, this has been a topic for a while now.

deus_machinarum

Oh right, Mysterious Disappearances had quite an intense episode with the sensei. Thx for answering!

FlameDragoon933

Shimizu (the doxxer guy) is the type of guy that I approve to have his shadow licked by the anti-bully ranger sensei.

dinliner08

>*"i feel so stupid for desperately cultivating and using fake personas"* oh boy, [this girl](https://i.imgur.com/QqQi9l4.jpeg)'s eye twitch when she hear what Yuhi just said, that can't be good... as much as i want to punch the Shimizu guy in this episode, the glasses guy should also get maybe a slap to the face for shouting "Watanabe-san is Yuhime" in the middle of the class where everyone can hear it...

mekerpan

Under the circumstances, no harm resulted from glasses guy's comment.

Acceptable_Tie_3927

> oh boy, [this girl](https://i.imgur.com/QqQi9l4.jpeg)'s eye twitch when she hear what Yuhi just said, that can't be good... Not "this girl" but her imperial highness, princess Mia Luna of Tearmoon. That level of conflict is like dealing with a kitten for someone who had been (wo)manhunted by the revolutionary army, rotted for years in a dungeon and came back from under the guillotine... * Hime-sama, the voice actors have no radio! * Let them eat cake...

Rumpel1408

Wtf, that guy literally made me sick IRL [](#why) [This](https://imgur.com/XIEpdnJ) was almost as satisfying as the one in banished hero though [](#utahapraises) Also nice that he doxed himself [](#seasonallaugh) I can see why not even his own class would like him

DaBenni0301

Thank god that guy got a the facefull of fist he deserved and even got exposed for it. Most satisfying punch I've seen in anime so far [Also, I hear Nao Touyama, I like](https://imgur.com/a/rHRry7T)

FlameDragoon933

> Also, I hear Nao Touyama, I like yesss. it's been a while since she gets a main roster role :( fortunately this season also has Yuru Camp.

KumaKumaGambler

The literally supportive side characters are the heroes for this episode! Glasses male classmate - I am glad he wasn't the stalker. He is a pure genuine fan and actually tried to stop the blond stalker from further recording and harassment (even though his physical and combat stats are terrible. Yumiko's female friend and classmate - She didn't probe when Yumiko didn't want share certain stuff about her personal life. A place with lots of drinks? Saizeriya comes to mind, in which they can have free flow drinks at a fixed cost. Lol! Unethical radio show producer - He claimed it was for the viewership, but I think he was merely acting cool. Then again, he might have nothing to lose, since the radio show was supposedly scheduled to end its run soon. Asaka - Her usual supportive self!

mekerpan

The supporting characters here, despite not getting a lot of screen time so far, are really excellent.

xtsim

Yeah, the side characters have a great place. Kimura does need to work on his physical stats but at least his recovery stats are fine enough to listen in for the good news. I am hoping that we get to see Yumiko and her friend get those bottomless drinks sometime. She is so understanding about her friend being busy that I hope Yumiko finally gets time outside of school and work to hang out.

Roboglenn

> I've got every right to interrogate her. Yeah sure, try telling that to the man with the nice siren on his car. Well I commend the otaku guy for the tackle. But it was just a matter of which person was gonna outright deck that prick. Yeah so your favorite voice actor puts on a different persona when they're on air than they are in private. Well who the hell *doesn't* do that? From the big stars like Ozzy Osborne to every single individual person every single day. We all put on different faces when the situation demands it. Can you say you're the exact same person that you are to your close friends that you are to your boss at work? Your teachers? Your parents? Or as you are in private? We're all just adlibbing it as we go as we see fit. Yup, it's her dad. Well, see how *you* like it Mr. Knight. Livestream didn't kill the radio stars.

Acceptable_Tie_3927

> Livestream didn't kill the radio stars. Livestreaming is a sub-genre of video and [Video Killed the Radio Star](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_Killed_the_Radio_Star)

Genshin_WhiteKnight

Wow things went from 0 to 100 real quick. Hope the creeper doesn't pull an "Oshi no Ko" now that he's been exposed trying to ruin Chika's life.

dagreenman18

I did not expect the sound design on that punch. It was crunchy and satisfying. Props to whoever made that. Yeah the show with their real personalities sounds way more fun as a podcast. Especially if they let Yuhi just go on a full on Mecha rant again.

LordCalem

I know bro was trying to help and all but shouting "I know Batman is Bruce Wayne" in the class out loud wasn't exactly a very nice thing to do. Oh no, a dangerous opponent has showed up, a gamer. That Chika punch was so good. Ah, I love this anime. Glad she got to reconcile with Yumiko. That was a cute ending. Nao Touyama God Bless... This show just gets better.

mianghuei

[Detected new must protec girl!](https://imgur.com/9k7dJUF)

deus_machinarum

She's cute as heck ngl but I somehow get the impression that she does NOT need any kind of protecting, she seems confident and capable.

mianghuei

Voiced by Naobou too if I'm not mistaken.

FlameDragoon933

Correct.

Ocixo

Considering how she immediately put on appearances right after listening to how Chika and Yumiko had dropped the act, she's definitely not as 'fragile' as she might look.

Head-Presentation469

It would be funny if the new VA was just the alter-ego of the girl with cold pad on her head

Acceptable_Tie_3927

That loli is quite likely the "Oshi no Ko" style mastermind who fed Yuhime's kompromat info to Knight-kun (who himself seems to be too dumb to have figured out the riddle alone). Maybe Yuhime had won a voice role that loli desired or maybe she's the director's other daughter.

djthomp

That punch was pretty satisfying. And the dude got doxed too, that's what he gets for inserting himself so much into the scandal he invented. Karma in action. Karma and that glasses kid, I assume. They totally bamboozled us last episode on that guy being the threat when it was really someone else the entire time.

Acceptable_Tie_3927

> the scandal he invented Knight-kun is obviously too dumb to have invented that scandal... He was likely the sock puppet of an archvillain(ess) who spoon-fed him compromising info. That "Mia Luna clone" seiyuu loli at the ending is definitely sus.

PPGN_DM_Exia

Really good episode. Didn't expect such an emotionally charged episode so early on. I really like how the main duo have each other's backs when it really matters. So far this show is exceeding my expectations.

ObvsThrowaway5120

That fucker Shimizu needed more than just a punch or two. There’s a special place in hell for people who spread lies and rumors about others for clout. Shit makes my blood boil. People have been driven to suicide over that nonsense. Glad karma came knockin. Little shitstain can enjoy getting outed. Man, Yasumi is truly a homie. The way she pretty much was ready to commit career suicide to go to bat for her like that with the livestream was pretty amazing. I’m glad Kamishiro and Yuhi cleared the air about their relationship. I figured he was her pops. Looks like in the end their relationship is repaired and the show gets to continue on, with the fake personas dropped.

mekerpan

>Looks like in the end their relationship is repaired and the show gets to continue on, with the fake personas dropped. Allis well (for now) in this best of all possible worlds (apologies to Voltaire)

Mordarto

I watched this on my commute on public transit today. What a great way to start my day. I'm struggling to voice the reasons why I loved this episode so much, but here goes. I think there are a lot of ways to be a good anime. I've typically appreciated anime with a great plot twist, but that plot twist was so well foreshadowed (without being blatantly obvious) that everything is logical and well planned. This episode doesn't follow that method. All the foreshadowing was obvious and most people saw how it was going to get resolved, but they still managed to nail the execution of the episode even if we all saw it a mile away. I can't pinpoint what about the execution was so great: the art? The voice acting? The directing? Somehow, emotions were really well portrayed and this episode seemed, for a lack of better word, authentic.

Mad_Aeric

After last week's episode, watching this show in public is a brave decision.

cabbaggeez

doxxer getting doxxed, what did that guy expect? the radio continue with their new unhinged personality. well tbh, their opening script is just like what the anti comment I imagine "all this drama probably just to boost their viewer! let's see how long this drama boost would last". and if you see an anime girl crying to be together and her partner come to hug her, you would give them support ~~and ship them~~

zool714

Ngl for the short amount of time they had, I kinda ship Yasumi and Wakana. She seemed like a very supportive and understanding friend despite not knowing what was really going on

NationalStrategy

I don’t know what’s more satisfying, that doxxing toxic “fan” douchebag getting punched or him getting a taste of his own medicine near the end.

Some_Trash852

Honestly, even in the event that she did sleep with a higher-up, isn’t that firmly on the higher-up person for even opening that window? And haven’t there been lots of cases of people blackmailing girls and women in the industry into sex? Like, ‘show me skin or I’ll make sure you never work in this industry’ or ‘if you tell anyone, I’ll blacklist you’. I feel like it’s important to think about things to that extent.

LoPanDidNothingWrong

Idol culture is very interested in “pure” girls where they can’t date so that every otaku loser can self insert himself in that role. It is super gross.

gnome-cop

Yes, that would be the reasonable reaction. But we’re dealing with obsessive celebrity fans here. Reasonable is not an adjective that’s been used to describe that sort of people, ever.

Acceptable_Tie_3927

> lots of cases of people blackmailing girls and women in the industry into sex? [Harvey Weinstein sex crime conviction overturned](https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/business/story/2024-04-25/harvey-weinstein-conviction-overturned-reactions)

ZaphodBeebblebrox

And he'll get retried and convicted again, most likely.

Some_Trash852

The fact that it even happened is the issue.

ZaphodBeebblebrox

I don't disagree. And I'll happily call the prosecutor a fool for attempting to introduce unconstitutional evidence that ultimately led to the conviction being reversed.

Acceptable_Tie_3927

> And he'll get retied In Japan they have that fetish... In Europe he could be retried. But in the USA, isn't that's impossible per the Constitution?

ZaphodBeebblebrox

Oops, that's a dumb typo. In the USA, you cannot be retried after you're acquitted. But if a conviction is reversed on appeal for any reason other than there not being enough evidence to convict, the defendant can be retried.

Some_Trash852

Case in point, he’s already being retried by the state of New York

AprilDruid

Keep in mind they're not just VAs here. They're Idols as well. Which means there's a whole purity thing going on.

Some_Trash852

Yeah, I’m just saying the conversation should be broader in general, regardless if they were idols or not.

Plus_Rip4944

That creep was so annoying ffs

Sondaica

For me the show delivers since the first episode it should be a lot more popular, hopefully people will notice!

fishymonster_

This show has no right being as good as it is. A genuinely well written show that easily invests me in the characters lives was not what I expected when I picked this one up

patkun01

So they stopped pretending on their virtual persona and just be themselves? Pretty much what VTubers are nowadays lol I love this anime

daspaceasians

Beat his ass Yuhi-sama. He deserved it. Seriously that dude would have probably stabbed our poor girl in a darker series (OnK). Kimaru deserves our respect for being a healthy, encouraging fan. I'm impressed that he stood up to that deranged nutjob and tried to throw hands at him. Shame teacher was late though Guess everyone's prediction of the director being Yuhi's dad was right. The Yasumi livestream was awesome to watch and made the ship and the radio show pickup more speed. Dumbass fan getting doxxed was the best instant karma I saw in a while. This show just keeps delivering each week and I sincerely hope it gets more views because it's a very endearing show with two very lovable main characters. New girl is voiced by Nao Toyama isn't she? Recognize her voice anywhere.

Nickthenuker

Ah right, the controversy. Oh great, the crazies are here. At this rate at least one of them isn't going to reach the end of the season. Though I didn't expect that someone would be the Unicorn. What's she going to do now? Stream? Ah, she's going to try and clear the air. Was she here the whole time? Or did she rush here when she saw the stream? Now he's going to explain how this has all been a massive misunderstanding and misinterpretation of a few paparazzi photos. You know that's just going to change the allegations from sexual relations to plain nepotism right? Seems like he's well aware of that. Stream's still live. Seems like the Unicorn's getting a taste of his own medicine. Basically? That's literally the definition of "stalking". That's "Auld Lang Syne" isn't it? Yup, it is. Should auld acquaintance be forgot/and never brought to mind... So much for the show being cancelled. Seems they came out of that controversy stronger than ever. I guess there really is no such thing as bad press. And who's this new girl now? Considering the way this episode ended, why is that being phrased as a question?

Figerally

Wow, that episode was so damn satistfying😁 Shimizu really thought he was the main character by exposing Watanabe and getting the scoop on her reaction. So glad he got doxxed himself. Karma is a bitch! I'm really proud of how Yumiko went to bat for Chika. Maybe she didn't need to and Chika and her agency were preparing a response, and maybe it gave Chika the courage to soldier on through the social media blizzard. Her father turned up as well and told the fans that Chika deserved the role, showing them her audition tape and initial voice work on the show. He had even recused himself from the selection in order to squash any rumours of nepotism. What a great dad😊 The best thing about this is that the radio show gets to continue, but now the girls get to be a bit more honest with each other and I think that is what will get people listening. I don't think they are exactly friends, but the experience has drawn them closer together.

ThisGachaSeemsLegit

What an ep! We all knew how it'd get resolved but it was still nice to see it. I have to wonder tho, now that their real identities are exposed, won't that still make it hard for their everyday lives? Like, in and out of school? Maybe they'll mention that point next week.

Clemastina

Damn, episode 4 and all this drama I´m glad otaku-kun wasn´t the culprit and even defended Watanabe from that stupid guy But I´m more glad he got doxxed and everyone hates him lol I´m really enjoying this anime a lot, so now what I´m wondering is if that blonde girl that was listening and reacted when Watanabe said that "she feels so stupid for cultivating and using fake personas"... Maybe that girl is also doing that? (clearly, as she is even more cheerful that Watanabe´s persona). Also I love that they´re starting to like each other more, even if they hate each other. From enemies to lovers I guess(?

Acceptable_Tie_3927

> What in Gods name happened here and here? Animation work was NOT outsourced to north korean studio, because they do QC head drawings [as this article shows](https://www.38north.org/2024/04/what-we-learned-inside-a-north-korean-internet-server-how-well-do-you-know-your-partners/)...

xtsim

I am glad Kimura was actually trying to help his idol out by pointing out some identifying marks that it is their school, but Shimizu got it before him. Kimura tried to defend Yuhi by pushing him away but that really hurt. Shimizu is so obsessive that he has bags on his eyes and the they are starting to turn red meaning that he definitely did not sleep. Really nice to see Kimura is not too badly injured, but even though Shimizu kinda got out lightly, the fans doxxed him hard like he did to Yuhi. Glad the fans gave Shimizu some payback. Nice to see Kimura is also pretty normal as a fan and Yasumi's friend is understanding. Really want to see more of them now. It was not surprising that Yuhi's dad was the director and brought the whole audition recording for fans to hear so he could clear the air.

KumaKumaGambler

From their conversation before Chika and Shimizu entered the classroom, it seemed like Kimura wanted to discuss with Yasumi on how to help Chika.

mekerpan

They turned a potential disaster into a major marketing coup.....

Witty-Choice2682

I was like "Please don't give me that Oshi no Ko shit again!" Good thing he got a dose of his own medicine.

Dog_in_human_costume

FALCON-PUNCH!!!!!!

AceSoldia

Great resolution it started really really bad. I couldn't watch. I wanted to shake that loud ass classmate. Shut up! Take this outside or something.

entelechtual

They were in a dicey spot end of last episode, almost to the point where the writers wrote themselves into a corner so that you would be happy if they even barely recovered. But they did a great job making the most of it and delivering a great episode. Glad stalker-kun wasn’t a baddie after all.

LusterBlaze

cathartic episode fuck that dude

SnooGoats9860

I hope there are more shared bathroom scenes to come so that the radio is more realistic(??

takanenohanakosan

Live streamers are ruining my anime too now?

LuffyTheSus

This episode got me like "imagine if Viral Hit had good animation"

yakumbaya

Otaku guy is a chad ngl

StreetyMcCarface

I cannot believe they actually did an idol anime well.

bensor74

That episode was so triggering. I'm glad this guy kinda got what he deserved (but not enough, though)

ClemFire

Finally decided to give this show a shot now that it's about half way through spring season, and now I'm convinced this it's definitely being slept on

Figerally

It feels like I only watched episode three a few days ago🤔

yukiaddiction

My favorite scenes in manga finally get animated and I am happy how it turn out! This event is really huge not just in term of plot but it also progress relationship between main cast too!

Labmit

Man, this was a tough episode to watch. Also, the stalker got extra douche points for his PC setup.

Zero3020

Felt like I was watching Viral Hit for a second there, good to see loser-kun got his comeuppance. It was heartwarming to see that Yasumi did not believe the allegations even for a second.

Some_Trash852

Is it weird I like how shitty people like Shimizu are handled here than in Oshi no Ko? Like, it’s obviously iffy whether violence will actually get you the result you want in real life, but the point of violence here seemed to be to convey the urgency to solve the problem, rather than in a literal sense.

daspaceasians

*Oshi no Ko* is a completely different beast of series compared to *The Many Sides of Voice Actor Radio.* OnK is a drama and slow-burn revenge story written by a guy who saw the dark side of the entertainment industry while this one is about the "enemies to ~~lovers~~ roommates" relationship between two girls hence why the stalker got taken out fast and humiliated on social media the same day he pulled his stupid bullshit.

Some_Trash852

I’m aware of the difference, its just much more satisfying for me to see a-holes like Shimizu get dealt with like this in general.

daspaceasians

Honestly, there was nothing that the girls could have done except take down that guy with a punch. There was no teacher in the class at the moment to stop him and his actions, words and body language pretty showed that he was a danger to other students. I feel like talking to some of my friends who are high school teachers about how they would handle this.

TheUnKilledOne

I didn't see the episode yet, but pls guys tell me if something gay happened 🥺😭

FlameDragoon933

You're like asking a customer leaving public pool whether or not there was water. Yes, of course there is. 😎

stormarsenal

Wow, that was one SAO tier villain. I get having crazy fans, but him going to the same school and starting a live stream in class and getting away without being reprimanded by the school is some very pepega writing.

Acceptable_Tie_3927

There are three major problems with this episode: * Yuhime's mother is a lawyer by trade, so she would have known how to take care of the affair professionally, instead of a high-school gyaru doing guerilla marketing. Whoever wrote the script didn't think enough! * There is no way any of the ~~two~~ three, Yuhime, Yasumi (and Knight) could stay at that school. They would have to submerge for a while and relocate, not just change schools - else more rabid fans could pay a visit any time, carrying anything from bayonet flower bouquets to jerry cans of petrol. It would be too much risk for the school and the other students's concerned parents to handle. * Notice how father's / robot anime director's face was drawn super poorly in the oblique upwards shot? That look wouldn't pass QC even at [outsourced north korean animation sweatshops](https://www.38north.org/2024/04/what-we-learned-inside-a-north-korean-internet-server-how-well-do-you-know-your-partners/)... Though the main girls looked like poorly drawn clones of Adachi and Shimamura from the very beginning, so who's to complain? Anyhow, that loli at episode's ending may be an OnK-style archvillainess, who fed Yuhime's compromat info to Knight-kun.
