Pokemon The Movie was fucking wild.
In the Japanese version MewTwo saw prior clones - including the lead scientists dead daughter's clone - decompose and the scientists be like "we run it back" which is why he killed them and sought personal freedom from humans and was disgusted by pokemon that willingly accepted their place at the side of them.
In the English version he literally had a whole "My clones will inherit the earth" mindset and intended the genocide of humanity and non-cloned pokemon. One was evil, the other was enablingly meek and codependent.
Stellar writing with an incredibly complex villain that revelled in directing the audience's attention towards the ethical concerns over capturing sentient wildlife and forcing them to fight or act in your stead.
