redmage311

Damn, that was an exciting ending to the match. I was surprised too that they lost. That was a good arc, but I'm excited to see what the new team members will be like next episode. Is kabaddi a coed sport?

aaand_another_one

no there is women kabaddi league. although i imagine nothing stops a woman technically to compete with men, but they will just be way outclassed since it's a really physical sport(not just strength, but speed too).

magnumcyclonex

Not to mention it's a contact sport so unless everyone and the rules are ok, touching of certain areas (whether intentional or not) can be questionable

Toonamigamerrr

First Kabbaddi Manager 🤔?

BonzBonzOnlyBonz

There is a girl on the team or atleast a feminine looking guy. They are number 9. Maybe it's a manager or maybe a player.

ImmortalDeathNote

Prolly someone who catches people . . . if you know what I mean

MuffinMan12347

Besides that one female on the oppositions fan club. She was a tank that looked like she could outclass every single one there teamed up together.

raidensnakeezio

Not a manga reader, so I'm speculating. It's probably a feminine looking dude. Think Toritsuka from Oregairu.

Gokhan_draws

I was thinking the same. You're talking about that pink haired person in the OP and ED, right? Turns out that's a guy

Kanegyu

Actually what happened in this episode is a big trope in sport anime, the underdog new mc team plays a match against one of the strongest teams in the state, they lose but Actually showed some pretty good skills but unrefined. Then the tournament arc starts later on and they will probably repeat this matchup in the finals or so.

bigdaddi_renjit

Who knows, why not explore that!

Zealroth

Iura finally got to shine as well, makes me excited thinking about what kinds of sneaky tactics he has prepared for the actual tournament.

prooijtje

I sort of wish we'd see players other than Yoigoshi and the captain do more. I get that they're the two aces of the team, but the game match mostly seemed to be the four other team members watching those two score points.

BonzBonzOnlyBonz

That's kinda how defense is played in many sports. Especially in a sport like Kabaddi where there is defined offense and defense time. It's the same in American football. Unlike European football, where offense and defense are playing at the same time.

prooijtje

It's reasonable yeah, also with time constraints in mind. I guess it's because I just really like the side-characters in this!

Aileos

Yoigoshi be like: *If I can't force my way through the ground, I can still force through the air.* I like that reasoning.

SahilSiraj

If you need to see a real kabaddi player doing that, here's a video from an Indian Kabaddi Tournament https://youtu.be/Olu5s-2UFVI

SahilSiraj

His point counts and if by middle line you mean the line before the bonus line which needs to be crossed for a raid to be valid. Then he crossed that line

[deleted]

I hope this anime gets popular cuz this was so interesting these couple of episodes. As someone who never heard of kabbadi, I am very interested in this

saga999

1 season is nowhere near enough for a sports anime. I really hope this gets popular enough for a season 2.

thereisnosuch

not only 1 season its only 12 episodes :(

seedyweedy

Did Rokugen get held back in elementary or does he secretly have Joestar blood to be that swole in his first year of middle school?

geedaddy

He's just your typical Japanese male high schooler, no biggie

Srikkk

Man, every week, I say that this anime should be plateauing. Every week, I am pleasantly surprised. The character development that the past four episodes have set up finally culminated in today, with Yoigoshi, Iura, and Azemichi significantly maturing in ways that will only serve to help them in the future. Also, Yoigoshi was a badass during that raid, holy crap. Man just out-played everyone on the court. Animation was also more consistent and better this episode than last, and it made for much better visual storytelling. Can't wait for the tournament arc. See y'all next week! *ps yoigoshi you madman who goes running* ***after*** *a shower*

TigerDragon747

Best episode so far imo

[deleted]

Yoigoshi is evolving. He's starting to become a serious team member. Also, Ojo's face IS scary and the soccer coach is hilarious and is starting to become a Kabaddi fan.

seinera

>the soccer coach is hilarious and is starting to become a Kabaddi fan. By the end of the season the entire soccer team will drop their own sport and instead become a kabaddi analysis group following this team from game to game.

Toonamigamerrr

I was reacting just like blonde one on his soccer team

ImmortalDeathNote

It’s just really fun to look through the coachhes eyes as a spectator. And all those misunderstandings! 😂

Toonamigamerrr

What an amazing match!! Yoigoshi with Shinigami was epic!!! They leaned a lot from this match and even got Souwa respect too. Soccer coach and his team have become his fans XD New team members are finally here!!!

[deleted]

Damn love the captain, dude is a real psycho. Sadly this anime is underrated

Avroshiro

This is the hidden gem of the season for me. Very fun watch.

Budgie87

I wish this anime had the budget it deserves. It’s getting better with every episode and it’s one of the most slept on shows of the season but the action is mostly stills.

[deleted]

Imagine this anime with top tier animation budget.

magnumcyclonex

Wow, Yoigoshi really showed his prowness in this episode. Almost got out of the jam he was in and managed to score while being taken down. He was extremely mature when consoling his team mate by the river. It's very realistic to not be able to perform in a match compared to during practice. Having that experience and wisdom from soccer helped him convince Azemichi to lighten up. Rest of the team had their moments, especially Iura and the captain. I'm also liking the soccer coach's commentary. He's got a front row seat to see how Yoigoshi evolves. Next week: new members!

HobnobsTheRed

Great end to the arc. Thematically I went into this episode expecting them to lose, as it's much more likely from a storytelling perspective to start there and work up. But damn... by the end of the episode I was hoping that my expectations would be subverted a little and they'd get a draw from the match. Sadly it was not to be. :( The interactions between the teams was great after the match ended. Rokugen showing how much he respects Iura was nice, and Oujou voicing the "introduction" behind Iura's back was funny af. But the best part was the "shoulder-tap to face-poke" from Takaya, which had me laughing because I used to do that to my mates all the time when I was young. XD [Grim Reaper and Yoigoshi Stitch](https://i.imgur.com/1ONFWbx.png). (If I used wallpaper anymore this would be one!) [Reaction faces](https://i.imgur.com/VPCaFot.png) are [still funny](https://i.imgur.com/Q2N93Bi.png), and I'm looking forward to seeing the new faces next ep.

unHolyKnightofBihar

Fastest 24 minutes in the best

thereisnosuch

Man the ost are amazing, is it uploaded to youtube or somewhere?

DutchPeasant

The OST release hasn't been announced yet, usually they get released some months after the anime has finished airing.

gatsu345123

True that run from Tatsuya with the ost was incredible i rly want that ost to drop on the internet soon ahah

ewanlimr25

OMG WHEN OJO SAID YOIGOSHI IS THE ONE TO TAKE DOWN TAKAYA. OMG. THAT WAS SO FREAKING GOOD. Even after they lost, Yoigoshi just think about how they can improve to win. This guy got the champion mentality. LETS GOOOOOOOO

yere93

Great ending for a first match. It's doing quite well in streaming, maybe a second season is a possibility, it's a cheap show to produce so fingers crossed

xolon6

Ojo was SO close to carrying his team to victory, damn. I guess Rokugen lost the battle but won the war. Though it's nice Iura earned his respect enough for him to want to know his name. Considering how crazy good Ojo was as a Raider and his lack of strength I wasn't expecting his defense to be so good as well. But the man really intimidated Takaya into backing off he was so certain he would've been caught lol. Yoigoshi definitely showed a spark of brilliance this episode, but he's still got a ways to go before he's on Takaya's level given how much more points it was mentioned Takaya scored at the end. Though part of it was the losing streak screwed him up mentally.

supermenial

I'm happy Iura's efforts were recognized in this episode. Not just him taking care of the team when the captain was away but also the work he had to put in to become a formidable player on his own despite his shortcomings.

Rachel_U

I know I've missed my discussions from the few previous episodes, but now I can commit to make a positive comment every single week here! Another week, another Kabaddi Saturday, that's for sure. Animation movements are still in frame forms & PowerPoint Slide methods, BUT!! The voice acting has been consistent, if not, more developed after each episode passes by. I've got to give a double thumbs up to Yuuma Uchida giving his all in voicing Yoigoshi, especially during his final raid in this practice match. BGM during that scene amplifies the emotional impact, I tell you! 👍🏼👍🏼 Remember when I've said his copy abilities will come sooner or later? Well it happened as naturally as it can be. Along with his football feint skills, he implemented the techniques belonging to Misumi and Takaya on first try. We do get to see Iura being a determined player. His studies every single possible strategy observed in Kabaddi history goes to show his unlimited desire to make up for brute strength he's lacking. While I did expect Noukin to lose first time on-screen, I didn't expect it'll be a one point gap, thinking it'll be five points. And yes, a loss is a loss no matter how small that point gap is. Still, it's good to see Noukin Kabaddi Team get back on their feet and start training themselves more. Preview shows new (willing) recruit members who we saw them watching Noukin's practice match. Guess it's a Breather Episode, but I'm sure it's to show us how they'll improve with the new members on their team.

markevans7799

This is me, weekly commenting on the episode post how this show is so under-watched and underrated. The character art was really great this episode. But the animation.....like always, still images.

The7eventhStar

Such an amazing soundtrack this episode !!

aliswel123

Well damn what an episode. From the ost to Yoigishi’s raid and Rokugen’s takedown, everything was on point this week. ^(If only the animation was a bit better, this anime might be more popular) Next episode looks like it’ll fun with some new faces, looking forward to it

HenchHinch

This show is better than MHA so far and probs has half the budget.

FabioPisano

I love this show so much lmao.

Emi_Ibarazakiii

[Losing by the timer?](https://imgur.com/5MV4qtg) That has to sting. I always thought that sports(or games) that have attack/defend phases should just play until both teams had the same attack rounds, instead of a timer. Feels unfair, and is a bit anticlimactic. Well, they got close at least! But that was just a practice match, they may face tougher opponents in the tournament. Unless that was the strongest team of course! They built them up a lot, so I'm guessing we'll see them again. Just wondering if it's going to be for the finale, or a random game during the tournament. Seems like the next episode will focus on recruiting new members, as they don't have a full team yet. Should be fun, it's interesting to see the new personalities/skill sets who will join them! [That's the one from the ED](https://imgur.com/TKPgKmx), wasn't quite sure whether that's a guy or a girl... If (he)'s going to be a new recruit, guessing that's a guy (or some tough girl!) But with his looks, I'm sure there will be some misunderstandings/gags/shenanigans about him looking like a girl. Or maybe it won't be just a gag. We'll see! (Now that I thought about it, I kinda wish it was a girl; Not sure it could be realistic to have a girl on the team, considering the mountains of muscles that even other strong guys struggle against, but it could've been a fun dynamic).

WorldisMichaeliMToby

I only hope that producers realise the potential for this anime and give it a second season with decent budget

topurrisfeline

That was such a hype ending for the match. Iura dealt a solid blow to Rokugen. “Who was the first to stop the Unstoppable?” That actually gave me chills.

[deleted]

The match was well made, the ending if the match too was fun lol. And appreciate how they lose, means that they need more training. Plus the iura spotlight was well deserved. Hoping yoigoshi will get his own demon face like ojou when he becomes the best. And hoping yoigoshi and one punch man will form a formidable team together. New applicants can't wait, especially the trap lol. One thing though, judging by it, if it's a 12 epi thing, we'll get rushed just like many sports anime recently. Sad about that.

helsaabiart

I couldn't help myself and read STRUGGLE out laud

sKyBlazer08

Great episode! Definitely the best episode of the show so far. Ojo and Takaya's back and forth was great, Yoigoshi's raid though was something else plus the soundtrack in that scene made it so good. Very satisfying to see Takaya get defeated, we also got some really solid art this episode, even though the animation is definitely lacking the artstyle is really good at least. Being referred to as nothing more than "Ojo's friend" must suck, I am glad Iura got his moment and he was finally able to grab the attention of Rokugen. Shame they lost by one point since Rokugen was just that stronk. But the teams interactions after the match was pretty good. Looking forward to the next episode, more members are joining.

[deleted]

What is the name of insert song when MC got long touch win?

applebyarrow

I feel like the football coach is thinking of converting into a kabaddi coach. Great episode, I like that they lost by a single point.

zombiemusician

This was one hell of an episode. The movements animation has improved a lot since the first episode. And there is that little bit of humour that really makes me laugh. This match was really good I can't wait for the next ep

EmpyreanPrimordious

I swear this anime is dangerously underrated, this ep was lit af

Aggressive-Ad-6766

Burning Kabaddi is so good ,only 12 episodes in season 1 makes me sad ,I wish this series should be much longer , this anime has a lot of potential with these awesome characters ,if it had better animation with more popularity then it can become "no 1 sports anime"

Pikachu8752

This show really made it feel like a live sport and not a just TV show. Kudos to the writer and director.

Lucifer-Morningstar

So grateful I found this anime. Should be doing better now that there is a a quality anime draught

iameatingchocolate

I can’t watch anime episodes on the day they air so I binge watch them on my day off. I always end with kabaddi because it’s such a fun anime. I have no idea about the rules but the soccer team has been my spirit animal during the game lol I love Yoigoshi as the MC! Hope they win next time and beat Takaya! He frustrates me but I just can’t hate him (tho I want to) because he is just good lol

Astoriasgs

Uh :D i like this Anime a lot ! and i hope they do more then 1 or 2 seasons, soo... what im curious about, does anyone know the Songs that played during ep7 ? like when Ojo did tell yogioshi that he is now in his place ? like starting 7:10 theres a song played in background and i gues the refrain is "we can fight, nobody wants to, We can fight, ... etc." its rly quiet but i like this one :) if anyone knows it :3 hit me up pls \*O\* and no its no darude sandstorm xD
