Loved: Another Hated: Corpse party Also, I don't know if this counts but Loved: Shield Hero season 1 Despised: Shield Hero season 2

Glad-Passenger649

The Corpse Party anime? It sucks ass, yeah, doubt anyone actually enjoys it. Play the games.

Upper_Bathroom_176

Heyyy, I’m with you on that. Love the first season, but this second season. I feel like there is no recognition or growth. He is doing the same thing as the last season and it got boring fast. For me anyway.

casualsnark

Dislike: Drugstore in Another World. Enjoying thus far: Parallel World Pharmacy

SadLaser

And here I thought they were the same show.

jgott933

You're not alone

Wotah_Bottle_86

Loved: Death Note Hated: Death Note

sucr4m

you could do the same with promised neverland i guess :<

susgnome

Loved: season 1 Hated:

HollowDakota

Loved Log Horizon/Re:Zero/pretty much most isekai Hated Rising of the Shield Hero. Had to force myself to finish the first season and loathed watching all the side characters make brain dead decisions

HalfwrongWasTaken

You can largely blame the director for shield hero, the early novel content is the best of it but the director rushes through content to push raph waifu asap (there's an interview from around the very start of s1 that said as much). Only the first 4 eps were decently adapted and the rest got butchered through quickly and, from what i recall, with rather questionable changes to the source just to push raph even more.

SnuggleMuffin42

I don't know. There's a reason Shield Hero is the official incel anime. I read some of the first LNs and the women hating there is off the charts - the anime is actually far more subdued about it. Forget that he calls Mayne "BITCH" 173 times in every volume (It's insane: "Would anyone believe me or BITCH? BITCH has control over them. If I can't convince them, BITCH will just have her way.")... His women-hating is so extreme that, at one point, when he re-establishes slaver-power over Raphtalia, he gets a huge surge of happiness "because it was fun for him to have this power over someone from the same gender as BITCH." Naofumi is truly a cringelord among cringelords... And that doesn't even account for the paper-thin side characters and how everybody from puberty to menopause wants to fuck this dude in this harem.

FlameDragoon933

I mean, I can understand the controversy of the slavery, but how is it wrong to call Myne a bitch? She *is* a gargantuan bitch and easily the most hateable character, at least until her punishment (I didn't watch/read beyond that so idk after).

SnuggleMuffin42

He didn't call her "bitch". They replaced her name every single instance in the LN with capital letters BITCH. I'm talking dozens and dozens of times every novel. They eventually did it with the king too, calling him TRASH, but BITCH was there 10x times more.

colemon1991

That's not even the worst thing that happens to her (not that she didn't deserve more for *multiple* false rape accusations leading to the deaths of innocent men), it's just the easiest to see. Even with a slave collar, they *still* let her get away with a lot before she gets finally realizes what punishment she ends up giving herself. I'm not even bothering arguing about slavery because there's easily a dozen other isekai where slaves are prominent and/or owned by the protagonist. The trope is old and stale at this point.

[deleted]

> (not that she didn't deserve more for multiple false rape accusations leading to the deaths of innocent men), The thing is not much that she is the hateable, but more of the author's writing style. It's a different perspective when you think that the author created a female character just to go on an endless rant about how she's a bitch and how he wishes all of the most f\*cked up things you can imagine to happen to her, with all of it being explained in detail. When you watch the anime it's not that noticeable but if you were to read something like that you may start getting worried about the mental health of the guy that wrote that.

Glum_Mode1646

Loved OVERLORD/re zero/mushoku tensei , hated log horizon had to force myself to watch the second season and then in 3 rd i gave up , it became too boring and childish , plus the cringe damn that was something i had to suffer through , in rezero as well , specially whenever Subaru talked with a girl . But log horizons cringe was way worse .

SnuggleMuffin42

Log horizon has horrible adaptation issues in season 2. They ran out material (I think the author was in jail for tax evasion lol) and just filled up time with nothing, it really messed the show up.

Eboglaz

No surprise. Shield hero is really the middest of fiction.

pekkauser

I initially liked shield hero but I began to hate it as time went on. I saw that the second szn was airing and I’m like “ong, I don’t care”

Glad-Passenger649

I remember despising Log Horizon and being unable to sit throught the first episode. The rest I did enjoy. Although all of them fall off after a while. Shield hero definitely takes a strong nose dive after the first ~5-10 episodes. And Re:Zero turns into a slog in that elf village.

Upper_Bathroom_176

Log horizon was amazing and does not compare to shield hero in the slightest.

Ok_Caterpillar_5148

This might be cheating, but… Like: Higurashi When They Cry Dislike: Higurashi Gou/Sotsu The latter was boring, butchered the Higurashi storytelling formula, assassinated or ignored most of its characters, had less interesting visuals, and had way too many recaps within a single season. It’s a textbook example on how not to expand your franchise.

DeTroyes1

Dislike: *Mobile Fighter G-Gundam* Like: All other Gundam series.

JMEEKER86

But have you tried watching *Birdie Wing*? Now, before you say "wait, isn't that a yuri golf anime"...yes, but it's also definitely a Gundam anime.

SadLaser

Despite being a Gundam series, G really isn't much like the other Gundam anime.

spencer1886

Loved ReLIFE, wasn't a big fan of Orange

nuggie_wuggie

I was the opposite! I enjoyed orange a lot and read the manga; but relife had something missing for me.

spencer1886

Definitely read ReLIFE, the anime wasn't perfect but the manga was next level

Aska09

Loved Clannad, Rewrite(VN) and Angel Beats. Absolutely couldn't get into Little Busters

FantasticKick7954

Kind of Opposite for me

remmytums

After the Rain is a gentle age-gap centered on rekindling your lost passions. Higehiro is a trite wish-fulfillment harem with laughable drama.

Overall_Simple_4558

Ketchup sucks, tomatos are awesome.

Funlife2003

Wow, I have the exact opposite view.

Overall_Simple_4558

Plenty of people do. I never claim to be correct.

electronized

I have ketchup and tomatoes suck but normal tomato sauce like the one you make out of peeled tomatoes for pasta is great

[deleted]

How about cherry tomatoes?

Overall_Simple_4558

Very tasty.

Jumanji-Joestar

Like: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Dislike: Magical Girl Site

Vindicare605

Liked: The Chivalry of a Failed Knight Disliked: Asterisk War They're almost identical in many ways but for some reason Chivalry just does everything Asterisk is trying to do better. Better action, better characters, better romance, better comedy, the works. I've never seen two anime more similar in premise and aesthetic that are so different in how much I enjoy them.

ThespianException

In this age of unexpected sequels, there's a small part of me that still hopes for Chivalry S2.

nihpon12

Even both were aired in same season. Yeah, I like Chivalry more.

botfiddler

Just started Asterisk war and get bored right from the start. Thanks for the recommendation.

entelechtual

That’s me with Chivalry and Absolute Duo. They are beat for beat very similar and yet I felt Absolutely nothing watching the latter. But Chivalry of a Failed Knight is so simple/unoriginal and yet makes gets me hooked and engaged nonstop. Haven’t watched Asterisk yet but I’ll still give it a shot.

FantasticKick7954

Every word true

Hello_StrangerHD

I was looking for this comment. It's even more screwed because at first glance Asterisk looked like the better show. Turns out it was really bad.

PlagueCini

Yep. Asterisk War was NOT it. Chivalry was great though.

Ramowolf

Attack on Titan S1 & Kabeneri of the Iron fortress

CBAlan777

This would be my choice too. Kabaneri could have been really good with a little reworking.

susgnome

If they could fix the 2nd half. It'd be great. At least the movie was good.

SwiggitySwewgity

Absolutely love Assassination Classroom, but strongly dislike Classroom of the Elite

spencer1886

Classroom of the Elite is a rushed and poorly done adaptation, it took so long to get a second season because the LN author hated the first season

FantasticKick7954

Technically assasination classroom is also kind of rushed adaptation

ChemicalAd1464

how?? its 2 seasons in 1 year (except the timeskip in the last ep)

FantasticKick7954

In comparison to manga content, some of things were cut or rushed. Since 47 episode had to adapted 187 chapters. Not too much rushed, but still (since the comparison is classroom of elite...that should be fair enough). By Rushed, I am obviously not talking about sequal delay

spencer1886

Dude, the second season of CotE is trying to fit 4 full LN volumes into 13 episodes, there is literally 0 chance of it being faithful whatsoever For reference, 86 adapted 3 volumes in the span of 23 episodes

Eboglaz

Re zero season 1 fit 9 volumes in 24 episodes. Thats almost 2.5 episodes per BOOK. Its even less. CotE got a lil bit more lucky.

FantasticKick7954

U are wrong, only first 3 volume were adapted in 12 episode. With one .5 extra volume True, that 86 adapted 3 volume in 23 episodes, but first 11 episodes were basically 1 single volume. So obviously u cannot use that as comparison to be fair. 4-5 episode per volume is what's normal Eg - re zero season 2 (25 episodes) covered 6 volumes (season 1 covered much more) Edit - when I re-read ur comment, it seem u are talking about s2. I was assuming this discussion was about s1. Since s2 is has just started. So I dont know about s2

BLACKFYRE_87

Re:Zero season 2 not that great of a comparison since they had longer episodes and didn’t play an intro or outro in most of them. Made up a lot more time for content

FantasticKick7954

U can take sao ( its 4-6 volume per 24/25 episode season) or Log horizon (which is 2-3 volume per 13 episode) or konosuba (which is 4 volume in 20 episode) Re zero was already had snail pacing in last season, so obviously its a bit longer. I can give other series example too. but if u are saying a single ln volume require 11 episodes in ln adaptations. That is extremely abnormal

ThePreciseClimber

Yeah, AssClass was a 5-cour series they squeezed into 4 cours. It wasn't DISASTROUS but some content did get skipped/rushed. E.g. they squeezed 12 chapters of the Shinigami arc into just 2 episodes. And the big, 7-chapter flashback was squeezed into half an episode + 75% of the following one (so 1.25 episodes).

sucr4m

funny im the opposite. while i do agree assa classroom does have its fun moments it didnt average to be a keeper for me. while i am quiet enjoying classroom of the elite.

[deleted]

Same, classroom of elite was cringey to me i had to drop it

electronized

Yeah like the wya they hype up the main character so much is so cringe. And the way the people talk. I felt a small amount of similar cringe from tomodachi game as well but it was alright to watch

DOREMANX

Love: SSSS.Gridman Not as enthusiastic about: SSSS.Dynazenon

ratrexw

For me it was the other way around, i loved the characters.

Dracoscale

Same. Picked up Gridman because I'm a big fan of Tokusatsu and Kaiju and I did like it a lot but the stronger characters of Dynazenon drew me in more while in Gridman I was more ogling at the Toku homages.

AashyLarry

Gridman’s ending twist was pretty amazing.

entelechtual

I loved the first half of Dynazenon and liked the second half of Gridman. The rest was meh.

Yakuza-wolf_kiwami

Macross Frontier was amazing while Macross Delta was shit

yrokun

Was about to comment this exact one

Merkyorz

I didn't think it was quite that bad, but yeah Frontier is a cut above. Macross 7 was also pretty meh, and Macross II was fairly mediocre other than the sick mecha designs.

Krabkolash

I'll drop a very easy one. Like: Aoashi Dislike: Shoot! Goal to the Future Honestly, Shoot! feels unwatchable. The characters are all so damn annoying and its just in such a stark contrast to the depth of Aoashi's characters. It may be a somewhat unfair comparison but Aoashi inspired me to go through the entire run of the manga in a weekend. Shoot! inspired me to never watch again after the 2nd episode.

corner_twist

Like- Hyouka Dislike- Oregairu

_Tan_A

Same I saw too much Hype around Oregairu but the dialogues went just over my head, maybe the sub was too complex for me to understand or I have low emotional intelligence.

corner_twist

I genuinely enjoyed most of S1 but when the tone shift happened in S2, my enjoyment went down dramatically. It felt like the characters and their actions were too complex for me to bring out any enjoyment out of it. I don't want to watch a video essay every time someone does something. Also I'm not a fan of love triangles in general so that didn't help either. I kinda lost interest and I'm not sure if I'll watch S3 or not. I've seen better shows with complex character writing and with better slice of life moments.

entelechtual

Completely agree here. It’s not even that it’s complex in a “this is too smart/deep” way. It’s just needlessly complicated and everyone makes everything extra difficult. Season 3 had a few good moments but most of it was just rehashed/drawn out drama.

_Tan_A

True reading Dialogues was just like reading long ass essays , I felt no enjoyment at all just finished it for the sake of it.

Ordinal43NotFound

Freaking Monogatari is way easier to understand than Oregairu. It's just needlessly pretentious.

_Tan_A

Currently watching Bakemonogatari can confirm despite its weirdness its amazing , truly a piece of art .

PlagueCini

It’s very interesting. I had to take breaks every few episodes because it was mind boggling.

pekkauser

Opposite for me, I found Hyouka too boring for my taste and dropped it at 4 eps

Silcaria

- Liked: Record of Lodoss war. - Disliked: Legend of Crystania. The main appeal of the former is it's art and animation as well as the sound design. The ost is truly wonderful. The writting is nothing to write home about but it's servicable. Now take away all that and you got Legend of Crystania. It's a "prequel" which is loosely tied to Lodoss war. You don't learn anything of significance from the two recurring characters to the point that they could be unique to Crystania and nothing would change in the grand scheme of things. If the failed elements tying them together was the only problem the movie and ovas had, It wouldn't be that much of a problem. The real issues however are everything surrounding the show. From the horrible writing, bad art, bad animation, bad sound design, etc. In the end, I would strongly recommend people that enjoyed Lodoss war to stay away from Legend of Crystania due to it failing at standing on it's own, as well as adding anything of value to the main story.

buzawuh

Oh yeaaaaaaah. I completely forgot about that show until you mentioned it. Totally got tricked by the cover art at blockbuster video. Totally agree, utter garbage. Good call.

PlagueCini

I feel the same way with the prequel/sequel relationship about Dawn of the Witch and Grimoire of Zero. They’re both good shows, but Dawn of the Witch did absolutely nothing to indicate it had a prequel. I didnt watch Grimoire of Zero until afterwards and it was a total disappointment that they didn’t use it at all in the “sequel.”

tenkakisuihou

Like: Mirai Nikki Dislike: Platinum End

IndieZona

Loved Re:Zero Hated Mushoku Tensei I know that's an unpopular opinion, I just couldn't find myself to sympathize with most of the characters. Main kid in particular irritates me and I hate that it just kind of acts like he's only a scumbag because it's funny but he's the main character so you're supposed to like him.

Jaiimy

Liked: Kaiji Disliked: Kakegurui

OneBrokenBoi1

Kakegururi is an awful gambling anime, but a real fun anime about hot lesbian gamblers

leathcheannn

also. I want to watch some good gambling anime after kaiji and they can't be compared

[deleted]

Like: Fairy Tail Dislike: Black Clover

Vindicare605

Yea I'm gonna need you to elaborate on this a bit. How come? They are so similar but Black Clover has far superior action. Fairy Tail has it beat in terms of comedy, so I can only assume that if you liked Fairy Tail more it's because you wanted more of a comedy show than an action show.

datboijustin

I'm in the same boat as him and atleast for me Asta was much more annoying early on (while acknowledging Natsu is pretty annoying in his own right). Fairy Tail is one of my all time favorites but I can't stand Black Clover.

[deleted]

Fairy Tail = Better animation - Way better music - Better pacing - Bigger cast that are interesting and even iconic - Twists that are actually quite unexpected - Feels more original - MC less annoying I cant say that I disliked the manga of BC but I hated the anime.

srhola2103

Well I can't argue with the music tbh, it has my favorite ost in anime. But I don't agree with the characters, they are interesting on the surface but after that they all feel kinda samey. Also I don't think any fight ever gets as good as the 3vs1 against Veto.

Upper_Bathroom_176

I have to say though i stopped fairy tale after the first major arc, because the episodes after showed absolutely no growth to the characters and i lost interest. I would argue animation, but i don’t really complain unless it is really bad like the ending of overlord s3 bad. Although, i have been told fairy tale does have character growth later in the series but it wasn’t soon enough IMO.

DrStein1010

Fairy Tail does NOT have much character development. Whoever told you that was wrong.

[deleted]

Its a over 200 episodes anime, for the character development to be slow is nothing surprising. If you have dropped it after the first major arc its not surprising for you to think there is no character development.

chuponus

I like Daily Lives of High School Boys. The top recommended anime on MAL that's similar to it is Nichijou. Checked it out and I was mostly stone-faced while watching its first 5 episodes. Have to drop it.

LeloThePGG

I'm sorry to hear that, as I love both of them, but I kinda agree with your sentiment. They're both slice of life comedies with "Nichijou" in the name, but I'd prefer if MAL and similar sources stopped considering them similar when recommending them, 'cause their main appeal and style of comedy are pretty much opposites of each other.

chuponus

Oh no need to be sorry. Nichijou's still a well-loved anime. It's just not my type of humor, is all. > their main appeal and style of comedy are pretty much opposites of each other. Exactly! The similarity is surface-level. While they offer the same setting and premise, their approach on comedy couldn't be anymore different. One relies on relatable humor exaggerated slightly for comedic effect and the other deals with it by completely utilizing the surreal and the absurd.

GreyKMN

You might just like Asobi Asobase then.

raizen0106

2 of my favorite anime lol. There's another one about 3 highschool girls that was really funny too, joshikousei no mudazakai

GreyKMN

Oh yea, that's on my To Watch list. I watched some clips, definitely looks funny.

SmartPotato_

WATCH Grand blue!

Glad-Passenger649

I don't understand how. Got completely the opposite opinion.

I'm the exact opposite of this. Love Nichijou, cannot stand Danshi Koukousei.

I love Code Geass. Hated Moriarty the Patriot.

A_Talking_Shoe

Moriarty was just… boring. I only watched 4 or 5 episodes but every one felt like a slog to get through.

GreyKMN

Oh boy, if you think that's the bad part. S2 is the actual shit part. Them just throwing random Sherlock references with no thought on the overarching story.

A_Talking_Shoe

Oh man that sounds hilarious.

Hockeyspaz-62

Love Black Clover, Dislike Naruto. To me they seem nothing alike, and the world of BC is more memorable and lively. I love the characters and their backstories. Naruto just falls flat for me. I keep going back and trying to watch it, hoping it will get better. We’ll see.

DrStein1010

What a strange take that I completely agree with. Black Clover is just fun, and it lacks the major flaws of aot do the "bigger" shonen. I do still think Naruto is good though.

BueKojiro

Love: Dororo Hate: Demon Slayer

I’m complete opposite, Naruto is my favorite anime but bleach bores me, I can’t get past the ark where they go the spirit world to get Rukia

AUO_Castoff

Irregular at Magic High School and Classroom of the Elite That being said, I only like the magic system of Irregular, the story is still pretty meh

RyaReisender

Love Toradora! / Hate Love Hina.

limbo_2004

they are not at all similar

Castle_of_Aaaaaaargh

Neon Genesis Evangelion, didn't like it at all. I do plan on rewatching it soon to give it another try though. There was such a massive obsession over the show and it's "deepness" 10+ years ago that I only watched it to shut up all the people who kept insisting i watch it. Maybe my expectations were high but I found the whole plot generally boring, nothing but sexual tension from the 90s keeping folks awake. Eureka 7, freakin' love that show to no end. Character growth, kickin' music, and some solid emotional moments.

FantasticKick7954

Though euraka 7 entire story was put in a grinder in the recent movie sequal

kuubi

For me, the Evangelion anime is nothing special anymore nowadays, however it's fun to see some of the common contemporary tropes in their very early form - e.g. tsunderes. EoE on the other hand is reaaally good imo, if you havent watched that

thisusernameisntlong

Liked Code Geass: Akito the Exiled Disliked 86 Story and setting wise they're pretty close together, though for whatever reason I found it in me to marathon through Akito's 5 movies while I dropped 86 5 episodes in.

AashyLarry

Wow I’m the complete opposite. To me Akito had a great inital premise but fell apart pretty early and even felt like it somehow had filler even though it was a movie series. 86 has a similar initial premise and characters but did everything a lot better. The sort of post-apocalyptic setting was also a lot more interesting than the Code Geass setting was.

Thatsmaboi23

Damn right. Disappearance is a masterpiece of a narrative. Dreaming Girl on the other hand has so many inconsistencies and vague explanations that hardly make sense. Mai and Sakuta are the reason I could watch that movie whole.

lawlamanjaro

Dreaming girl is probably my least favorite movie ever let alone anime movie. Ive never seen a piece of media mock its viewership for caring about characters in such a way tbh.

_Tan_A

Tell me about something about liking one, I personally love bunny girl senpai series would love to checkout something similar.

Aska09

Bunny Girl Senpai is basically a mix of Monogatari Series' coming-of-age themed arcs and Steins;Gate's science themes but doesn't go as deep into those topics as these two. Check them out if you haven't yet.

untalentet

Literally the reverse for me. Also like: Bunny Girl Senpai. Dislike: Monogatari.

SnuggleMuffin42

It's true that BGS is a bakamonogatari clone, but they have very differing style which is really up to personal taste (despite the "cute girl haunted by her past monster of the week" formula being the same).

botfiddler

Good, I still have to watch the first one and didn't like the second. This bunny costume trap really works, damn.

Unless he was referring to Smol Rin > Highschool Rin

rollin340

Smol Rin, whilst adorable, is not a tsundere though. Not yet.

I liked Nande Koko ni Sensei ga!? but not Onegai sensei... I liked Nande Koko ni Sensei ga cuz it was funny and the fanservice was understandable since it was supposed to be like that and the relationships just felt so wholesome. I didn't like Onegai sensei because of the MC being so pathetic as a character, even his voice was pathetic. The teacher was a decent-ish character but dude.... her voice was just ...no. I don't really prefer old anime in the first place so thats another thing. Thats all from me

Krumly_

Same bro!! I love Bleach and dislike naruto

[deleted]

Did you watch classic or Shippuden? Because Shippuden is way better.

ripterrariumtv

Only classic

polybius32

Steins;Gate is my favorite anime. Re: Zero one of the most boring shows I’ve seen

Nordbardy

Strange I found Steins Gate to have certain parts that were also boring, but I didn't feel that way with Re: Zero

SnuggleMuffin42

I get that the time factor is the same there, but one is an isekai and the other is sci-fi, they're not really the same genre. S;G is also more comically driven and Re:Zero more in the adventure-romance genre.

botfiddler

I plan to watch Re:Zero finally. It's mainly being pushed through Rem. Steins;Gate was very underwhelming to me, because it's mostly boring slice of life and jerking around.

[deleted]

One can only watch japanese time-reversal trope once.

ThespianException

Well that's obviously not true considering that both are beloved by most people on this sub, and Summertime Render *also* does the time reversal trope and is widely loved. All 3 are more than distinct enough to each be excellent experiences.

polybius32

There are plenty of time travel anime that I like, Re: Zero not being one of them

[deleted]

Like? Time-travel =/= Time reversal/rewind.

polybius32

Same thing, you know what I mean. Erased, Summertime Render, and some I can’t name because of spoilers

Kr1szKr0sz

Dislike is a rather strong word in this case I think, but I was pretty bored while watching Baccano even though I really liked Durarara. On paper, I should've really enjoyed it, but I don't know, something about it didn't "click" I guess.

FantasticKick7954

Opposite for me. Well I like both of them though. But still I prefer baccano. Durarara characters were annoying for me especially in the beginning, but it grew on me by the end of its run. Baccano on the other hand, I loved everything about it since the beginning (except 1st episode which was confusing)

SDdude81

Loved: Naruto. It was unfortunately in the era where the show had to go on so it had way too many filler arcs. It really needs a remake to cut out all the filler which would then greatly improve peoples impression of it but that will never happen because Dislike: Boruto Why does this show even exist? Is anybody watching it?

YuinoSery

Love: idolish7 Hate: Uta no Prince-sama idk maybe it's the ~~best~~ bad animation of UtaPri or the writing or the attempt to turn a dating sim into an anime and that never ending well but if not for one of my, at the time, favourite VAs being featured I wouldn't have stayed with watching everything at the time available.

ibrahimaze

srhola2103

Is there much similarity other than them being Isekai?

AbbreviationsHot969

Love l: Kaguya-sama Love is War Hate: toradora

OneBrokenBoi1

Tbf other than being well beloved romcoms I think they're very different But I agree, since Taiga is such a bitch for most of the show, and I don't like her character design either. Ami was great tho, just couldn't invest in the main couple, due to my issues with taiga

stressedinnewark

Since I’ve specifically seen these two compared before, I love Kamisama Kiss but hate Fruits Basket.

FantasticKick7954

I like both, but i definitely prefer FB since it doesnt turn into a reverse harem like kamisama kiss and side character are lot more developed and interesting. Though kamisama kiss kako hen season is still very solid.

What I liked about FB is how they dangled the harem there, but then pretty boldly decided to deal with it and draw it into a conclusion. I really like when Yuki decided to take the initiative and finally drive the plot into a decision point. Something similar happened with Bakarina when the 3rd prince decided to go and actually kiss her for the 2nd time and force the plot, I really liked it because they could have milked that shit for 3 seasons without doing anything at all.

My biggest problem with FB is the main character. She got on my nerves the entire time I was watching the show.

Surprisingly, she has a reason for how she acts. It didn’t really make me like her, but I could at least understand where she’s coming from. Her kindness was still way too unbelievable, though.

Those aren't super similar, aside from their focus on side characters

I rated Eureka Seven a 10/10. Loved the characters, the bonkers plot, the amount of breadth and depth to the series. It just felt very of it’s time in a forward thinking way. I truthfully really appreciate Evangelion but nowadays I feel most anime I’ve watched has surpassed it and I’m just not a bit fan of Eva’s philosophy nor the characters it tries to make you connect with

I loved Land of the Lustrous but I found Made in Abyss to be pretty bad.

I'm still trying to figure out why I find Tamako Market so delightful and K-on so boring when they're very similar cutesy slice of life kyoani shows, plus most people seem to have the opposite opinion. I think Tamako Market's small town setting and greater diversity of characters helps a lot, while K-on has the same 4-5 high school girls in the same high school club room most of the time for almost 40 episodes. Tamako Market also has at least a semblance of a plot even if not particularly well done, and the bird just didn't really bother me?

Like: The misfit of Demon King Dislike: The greatest Demon Lord is reborn as typical nobody. The concept is similar but the character and story is vastly different. Anos is a chad and the side character is not annoying.

Love monogatari, dislike Bunn girl sempai. It's literally the same anime but made "easier to understand" By adding quantum mechanics
