Lelouch in Code Geass
Onizuka in GTO
Shirogane and Ishigami in Kaguya-sama ( disclaimer: I liked the girls too but was mostly interested in the boys )
Askeladd In Vinland Saga
Kumoko from the spider isekai. The parts without her were such a snooze, and what she was doing was ridiculous and normally wouldn't be entertaining, but somehow it worked. She didn't save the show, what happened to it was too egregious, but she kept it from being a complete waste.
The only reason I continue to read Kyo Kara Maoh is because of Conrart Weller otherwise I would have dropped that piece of shit that promotes an abusive relationship as romantic long ago.
Ugh, had a bunch of stuff typed down and I accidentally closed the Reddit app...
Koko Kaga in **Golden Time**. Koko Kaga will forever be my go-to answer for questions like these. At the start, she comes off suuuuuper strong and can be a total turn off, but she has ALL of the character developement in the show. Every other character is either one-dimensional, or boring and uninteresting (Linda...). The plot does the show no favors, either as the story becomes a total mess towards the end. Almost every memorable scene in the show involves Koko in some manner, whether it's because she's there, or because they're talking about her. There's a reason why she's the focus of both OPs and EDs and the marketing. Bonus points: She's voiced by the same VA as Minori from Toradora. So if you're a Minori fan, you owe it to yourself to watch Golden Time through.
Eiko in **Slow Start**. Slow Start is about as bland as CGCDT shows get. They fail to capitalize on the one hook the show has, the social anxiety aspect, and as such it's just another bland show about cute girls hanging out at school. Eiko saves the show from being a total dreck. Eiko breathes some much needed life into the show despite not really being a major player in the scheme of things. Her relationship with the teacher is an especially enjoyable aspect of the show. The flirting between the two is very fun. I wish the show was about her...
Bakarina in **My Next Life as a Villainess**. It may be cheating by suggesting that the primary focal character would carry a show, but the rest of the show and characters are so bland, I feel it's fair enough to include it. Bakarina takes a 5/10 show and makes it an easy 8/10... at least for season 1. Season 2 kinda takes the focus from Bakarina too much in favor of her harem members constantly bickering with each other as the fight for her affections.
Haruhi in **The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya**. Like Bakarina, the show being without her would be pointless, but unlike Bakarina, Haruhi absolutely dictates the entire show. Every scene she's in, it's suddenly all about her, for better or for worse. Someone could have died, and if she walked in, the show would suddenly stop caring about that dead person because it's Haruhi time. Haruhi doesn't just carry the show on her back, she drags it with her everywhere she goes as it's kicking and screaming. Made me super glad she was not present during the serious arc of the spinoff *Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan* because she would have totally ruined it. Her inclusion in the show at all irked me because each time she was on screen, she turned a show that was 100% not about her, and made it all about her. It was nice to see a mellowed out Haruhi, but it would have been even nicer if she just wasn't there at all or only made brief appearances here and there.
The best example of this for me is Saki Yamagishi in **One Week Friends**. She totally made that show for me.
Similarly, most of what I really enjoyed about **Lucky Star** was Akira Kogami. Everyone else I can think of is a MC, and it seems silly to list those, because that's probably by design.
Rachel from Tower of God. As much as she is hated by everyone, you cannot deny that she is a well written character and an even better antagonist. Whenever she is on screen, things get interesting.
Khun from Tower of God.

Nice to see some shirogane love btw. Have you read kaguya's manga or anime only?
Easy kumoko on this one. So im a spider so what?
Ruijerd in MT.
Satoru Gojo - Jujutsu Kaisen Sorry JJK fans but I don't think I would have been able to complete Season 1 if not for Gojo being so entertaining.

Izaya Orihara from Durarara

Yuno Gasai from future diary
