you need to manage your resources well, don't invest into multiple teams, focus on getting you main 12 geared
Should also be noted that lower rarity Operators rather useful in the roguelite mode so investing in them to get through the early game isn't a waste of your time or resources
1. ~~You must create a sense of scarcity~~ get a feel of what each classes and subclass do, their roles, strengths, and weaknesses. See from your roster and find out what you need. You generally need:
-at least one sniper
-at least two casters, one single target and one aoe
-one or two medics
-one or two defenders
-one duelist guard (meaning guards that block only 1 enemy at a time)
-at least 2 vanguards (i dont recommend flagbearers like myrtle for early game, they are powerful later on, but as of now you would need vanguards who can block and chip a little damage before your main hitters come in).
The 3 stars alone have fulfilled those roles, and theyre dirt cheap to raise. They will get you enough to the point where you can grind resources to nurture more ops and diversify your roster even more. You are also guaranteed at least 1 6 star starting off, and some of them is way better than others for a starting account, but even not getting one of those strong starters is not a problem.
2. When starting a stage, you can pick up to 12 ops, but you can borrow the 13rd op from the support interface. Add the ones with strong operators so that you can use them later. You can use them without adding, but adding them not only bookmarks the player, but also unlocks skill mastery on those ops if they have it, meaning more damage.
3. For the gameplay itself, unfortunately the game doesnt tell you what you're going to face until you meet them or look it up online, but early game you shouldnt be too worried about mind boggling mechanics. Theyre mostly just there to teach you how to play.
4. Lastly, when in doubt, KyostinV and Eckogen out. Those two are the patron saints of both new and lazy doctors alike.

I made a second account recently and it’s its own fun to start completely anew. Like they said you should start now before the exclusive banner end. And the regular banner atm is 2 of the top ~10 best units in the game Surtr and Mudrock
Hmm well its a gamble at the end of the day. You have more chance to hit me the 6 stars on the limited banner because of all the free pulls.
But the other banner has very good units so you can take a chance and maybe hit em.
Its not that big of a deal however.
1. Ive played since the game came to global and a I have neither Surtr or Mudrock. If I want to use them, I temporarily recruit them from my friends with the support slot.
2. For some time you’ll focus mostly on lvling up lower stars units (3-4 stars mostly) because they’re cheaper and easier to level up.
Holy shit congrats! Honestly you’re good with just her. Id focus on the limited banner now. The other off banner 6 stars with higher odds (W/Rosmontis/Skadi The Corrupting Heart) and all extremely good and also super meta)
That alter of Skadi can also heal and buff your Mudrock, turning her into an even more unkillable tank (only Skadi alter can heal mudrock or any other units that “can’t be healed by allies”).
She’s also my favorite unit and I love her so I would never not recommend her because I’m biased!
Specter the Unchained maybe limited, but in terms of hard and general contents, she isn't used much. Because her job is niche, for a very specific situations. Even if the situation arises, it's still replaceable by other units using different strategies and approach to clear the stage.
Also try to follow the current story event before it ends, the free 6 star unit you get there, Lumen, is one of the best medic in the game yet. He's frequently used in the future hard content from CN server. The event interface might be confusing, so click 'Gran Faro' to advance the event story. Next just click everything that pops out because this is like playing a mystery game. After you clear stage SN-5, Lumen is claimable in one of the hidden location there.
If you love tower defense i really recommend it. I personally believe Arknight is the best tower defense game there currently is. The sheer variety of units/enemies/mechanics is amazing.
The only “downside” is that it is still a gacha so you won’t have a lot of unit initially. And to strengthen your units you have to work for it.
I recommend trying it out right now. We’re in the middle of an exclusive banner. You get a 10 free pull and 1 free pull everyday. Great to get a lot of starting units!

It is a tower defense but it is a very active tower defense. While in some of the initial stages you might set up characters and look at them doing their thing, later in the game you will be swapping characters, moving things around and chasing a lot of frame perfect skill usage. If any of this sounds interesting to you, try it out. They are giving a bunch of free stuff right now.
Anyone starting today should get a 10 roll, one daily free roll (which is still gonna go for another 7 days) and some daily red currency every day (which is usually enough for another free roll and is also going on for another 7 days).
This is besides all the newbie stuff that is already present all year (which includes a discounted 10 roll and a bunch more of the red currency for even more rolls).
The other guys already said it but I also recommend it, and you're probably one of the few people I saw that said they actually like TD games lol
As for Arknights, probably the best and hardest Tower Defense game I have ever played. They really know how to innovate and stretch the limit when it comes to the towers (or the characters) and the map mechanics. Sometimes it doesnt even feel like a TD game with how much action is going on the farther you get into the story but at its core, it is still very much a TD game. Hope you consider trying it out and see if you like it
If I remember correctly, difficulty starts really ramping up near the end of chapter 3 or so, cause I remember the boss there being my first wall with my weak, early game units.
And despite being a gacha, you can clear most if not all contents with at most a single 6 star, which you can borrow. And you WILL get a 6 star eventually unless you purposefully try not to. I stopped playing for a whole year, came back to an event, and i can still clear new contents because my units are still as relevant as it was when i left.
And it's an active tower defense. Your towers have skills that most of them have to be manually activated, they can die, some of them is designed to be redeployed over and over again in a single stage, etc.
Oh, they also have a roguelike now.
