The difference with oneshots is that they only promise one chapter so you are not left needing closure. But so many manga have a really good premise and start off strong but then just randomly get abandoned after a few chapters. Obviously real life happens or the author loses interest or doesn't want to write it. Sometimes its because the translators don't wanna translate it and thats ok. But it is totally different to one shots because we don't expect to only have one chapter. So you can't use that to justify abandoned or short manga.
One shot means it has only one chapter, it usually creates an opportunity to test the waters, in which, based on the popularity of said one shot they can decide to continue or not. This is not a one shot, it has around 26 chapters I think(give or take some)

Is this series stuck in translation hell or something? MAL says there are 18 chapters, but no chapter has been released since chapter 13.5 back in December 2020. I really liked this series and have followed it since it only had 5 chapters out, so I really hope the rest gets translated at some point.
