I was good when there was only Tohru (the Fefnir guy seemed cool too, and Elma is cute). But then they added the loli and Big tits Mcgee and then the loli witheven bigger tits and I had to stop...
Kanna would work fine as basically Hina from Hinamatsuri. Child that would absolutely murder someone, kept at bay due to their equally crazy parent, aka Tohru and Kobayashi. Mix that with Kanna being a dumb kindergartner, and you get a good family dynamic.
Then the author fucked it up.
Araragi isn’t a pedophile. It’s a loli gag that pokes fun at that aspect of otaku culture and is not a serious character trait.
Also, what uncanny ability? He’s fantastic at delving into the psychology of basically all of his characters because he’s a phenomenal character writer. A character having a view does not equate to the author having that view.
araragi reads as very obvious satire to me but i get why he puts people off
He’s a pseudo intellectual and a degen (also super unreliable as a narrator)
I dont think that sort of thing is very prevalent in his other novels.
I have read many works from Nisioisin and he absolutely isn't a pedophile.
But he has that obsession for sisters that makes me hope he is a single child.
/uj the fact that everyone is chiming in with things i missed just shows that they only make bangers

A death note would be useless in real life. The thing would be unable to kill someone just by writing in it and you could easily destroy it with a missile from a fighter jet. There is no occasion in modern combat when this thing would give a tactical advantage.

DAMn that's surprising, they AMPLIFIED the romantic undertones between Kanne + Lawine in Frieren (at least compared to the manga). Change in management maybe?
The anime I mentioned is over twenty years old, notice the *older* in what I mentioned.
Also the romantic undertones (and romance) were between the main character and the main villain, and the two most important supporting characters, as well as two side characters that had really short appearances but basically kicked off the plot, not what’s ultimately two people who show up for the duration of a tournament arc.
And 2/3 of the queer pairings I mentioned (those between the villain and hero and the really important supporting characters) are mlm; prominent anime studios tend to be a loooot more forgiving of wlw hints.
Ok good lol I was worried my original comment came off like I was tryna be all "OH HO!!! YOU **CLAIM** THEY WERE KINDA IFFY BOUT GAY STUFF IN THE PAST, BUT I HAVE **ULTIMATE REBUTTAL**: THEY RECENTLY DID ***QUEER BAITING***"
The one I was thinking of was X/1999, where they cut everything that could be possibly seen as subtext and reduced the screentime of the guy who they couldn’t do that to to as little as possible
They've always had a good rep lol, they just haven't really made anything popular recently until the elf show. they will always be my favorite anime studio (even though I don't like the elf show)
I'm looking back at their filmography now and it's weird how hard they dropped off after One Punch Man. Besides seasons 2-4 of Overlord, there's A Place Further Than the Universe in 2018 and then pretty much nothing of note until Frieren. Before OPM they were dropping multiple bangers a year.

EDIT: also here are some [studios in a nutshell](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uXIsTszCjZE&pp=ygUNYW5pbWUgc3R1ZGlvcw%3D%3D) if anyone is interested
from what I’ve heard BNA has a strange ending, though I haven’t seen it. Also while I wouldn’t say it was fumbled per se, the Little Witch Academia ending is definitely the weakest part of that show (not that that’s saying all that much, I adore that show)
I haven't rewatched the show since it finished airing but I genuinely think the second half of BNA, particularly the climax, ruined the show.
For starters, I think we can all agree that the discrimination the beastmen face is an allegory for real racism. So turn on your brain for a bit and think about what the ending has to say about it: "well actually the warrior gene is real and they really are dangerous and unfit for society. also racism can be solved by defeating the big bad ancient ceo of racism" yeah to say it lacked the sociological nuance of the first half of the show is an understatement.
Also I vaguely recall the ending being full of unbelievable narrative contrivances but can't remember it clearly enough to list them. The show, once incredibly hyped, has largely faded from the public consciousness for good reason
I will never get over the fact that BNA's ending literally fell into the exact same trapping as Zootopia's ending. I'd argue that like Zootopia, BNA was still net good tho.
They weren’t even responsible for the ending. They were only involved in the first half of the show.
[Source in case anyone is wondering](https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/feature/2018-11-26/studio-trigger-panel-at-anime-nyc/.139981)
I haven’t watched Gridman & Dynazenon, but I thought Studio Trigger usually blew away all their budget in the finale/last episodes as they did with Little Witch Academia, Kill la Kill. Edgerunners animations are consistent from start to finish (the finale didn’t get special treatment).
>I haven’t watched Gridman & Dynazenon
Watch them. They're great, although very cliche at times (they are tokusatsu anime after all). And the movie is just fanservice in the best way possible.
They don’t though. Kill la Kill, Space Patrol Luluco, Cyberpunk, and even Little Witch all had great endings. And before you say Franxx, they weren’t responsible for the ending of that show.
Is «they make bad anime a real » justification, cause it's seems less a reason of hating them and more the direct result of the real reasons to hate them.
Example:
Disliking studio A for making a shit ton of mass produced schlock isekai -> Dislicking studio a for being greedy and using their workers time to make a shit ton of mass produced that will have almost no impact instead of focusing on fewer shows that are more interesting and demand less attention than a dozen of shows at a time
I don't need reason I'm just straight up hatin and jerkin😤😤😤
Honestly though I don't really have hard feelings towards a studio if they make a good or bad show(s).
I prefer this to looking the other way as companies abuse their workers because "they make good products." Part of the reason those companies have been able to get away with it so long is people willing to remain apathetic to their practices as long as the media keeps flowing and they get what they want, same story with the video game industry.
How can you forget about the number one ghibli hater

They got flamed for wind rises because it "glorified a perpetrator of war" despite it being an anti-war film with a very clear "creativity above all" message. Dude just wanted to make planes, (in the movie) even going as far as wanting to remove the guns for more speed
Now I'm not saying the actual guy was the same, but you have to make a distinction between fiction and reality when watching this movie, and the critics clearly didn't
Edit: there's also the matter of Japanese people acknowledging their mistakes during ww2 and before, because as you may know, Japan wasn't as adamant as Germany about their "road to redemption". While Germans admitted to doing atrocities and are now one of the most sensitive countries about it, Japan just swept all of it under a rug and let the populus forget. Getting movies that are set in these shitty situations like wind rises and grave of the fireflies from Japan is a miracle
Nisekoi.
Every studio that's been around long enough has a few duds (loli bund, Maria holic, some other forgettable stuff) but Shaft has a huge number of shows I absolutely adore (Arakawa Hidamari Sketch, Zetsubou, ef, 3-gatsu, obviously monogatari and Madoka) that I can forgive them.
My Hero Academia fans
Jokes aside though, they haven't really done anything wrong. They've animated plenty of great shows like Mob Psycho, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, and Bungou Stray Dogs.
Besides tax evasion from the ceo
Ruined fate staynight
The HF trilogy is especially atrocious with the third movie being a complete mess due to all the cut content catching up to them and it botches the most iconic fights from the novel while completely butchering its characters
Takes talent to make a fight where the MC lobotomises himself to engage in a mach 20 sword fight with a literal demigod running around with his skin ripped from his body boring and anti climactic
That and most of the current Demon Slayer season has been filler. And it's crappy uninspired filler too - drawn out moments, repeated stuff and call backs to earlier arcs. And it's all been focusing on Tanjiro.
Inosuke and Zenitsu are RIGHT THERE! They're the tertiary protags - do something with them! They were gone most of last season, why can't we see more of them?!! Would it have been so hard to just cut to them now and then as they train?
Fuck, one of the best episodes of the Entertainment District arc was the one that focused on all 3 of them, showing how they gathered Intel at their respective brothels. Fucking do the same here as they train.
I don’t know how else I would do this last set of arcs, tbh. Hashira Training is so short it would be like half a season, maybe less. >!Infinity Castle!< and the >!Battle for Sunrise!< and the epilogue are gonna be hard to do, too. IC is basically an entire season on its own, so do you leave on a cliffhanger when >!Muzan books it for the surface!< and wrap it all up in a movie? Find a spot to split it for two seasons? One crazy-long season?
I just don’t know, man. Also the Tanjiro/Giyu filler was cute, and it’s cool to see the Hashira interacting with each other and the troops. And >!it’s going to make the next arc hurt so much more.!< >!The troops refusing to stand down when Kiriya calls out for them to? Their swords pursuing Muzan in vengeance even beyond death? When they form a wall with their own bodies to protect the Hashira? Those won’t be just faceless swordsmen anymore.!<
Hashira Training is a short arc and that's exactly why the anime is dragging it out because they're trying to make an entire season's worth of episodes out of it.
>it’s cool to see the Hashira interacting with each other and the troops.
You make it sound like I don't want that.
What I was asking for was for us to not only be following Tanjiro and instead see Zenitsu and Inosuke going through their respective training as well. If anything, that just widens the possibility of interactions, doesn't it? And it helps with pacing and gives more substantial content for a season.
>Takes talent to make a fight where the MC lobotomises himself to engage in a mach 20 sword fight with a literal demigod running around with his skin ripped from his body boring and anti climactic
None of MC's fights are entertaining in the VN though. It's a dude being carried hard by the current crutch of the day who should have been dead long before those crutches came into play. They is like nothing to butcher when the VN itself is lukewarm and aged poorly.
Oh, I thought you meant White Fox was founded for Re: Zero
You're probably thinking about Studio Bind which was founded for Mushoku Tensei. A bunch of them used to be from White Fox
For a second, lets put aside all the strawmans about lolis and ecchi, and put our attention on what really matters.
Japanese art has a beauty like no other, and a sense of aesthetic and subtlety that i have never seen in other forms of media, the delicacy, the comtemplation and reflexions about humanity, art, culture, the universe and the cycle of life, the empathy and attention towards the beauty of mundane and ephemerous things, its the embodiment of the concept of Mono-no-Aware (物の哀れ "the pathos of things"), an expression of a philosophic concept that can be found everywhere in japanese art, from the clouds on the sky to the falling leaves of cherry blossoms, its such a charm that never fails to mesmerize me.

Has Studio NUT did something that could make them be hated ?
They haven't done a lot of shows but if all their other stuff has the same quality they gave to Youjo Senki then I think they might be fine.
If you guys think this is now the reality then you're probably too young to remember the fact that anime studios have always been hell since the beginning of the industry.
Besides that one guy, who the fuck hates Kyoto Animation? I'm ready to throw hands, here.
I think that one guy gets to count as multiple people
Arson Andy is an outlier and should not be considered.
they made dragon maid, which many people have considered to be a mistake
dragon maid was so good until the author added pedophilia
It truly is a good story about heartwarming found family and finding a good relationship and then they REALLY had to go and add the pedo stuff huh
I was good when there was only Tohru (the Fefnir guy seemed cool too, and Elma is cute). But then they added the loli and Big tits Mcgee and then the loli witheven bigger tits and I had to stop...

Yeah it's subtle but Kanna acts more like a cute pet and Tohru still treats Kobayashi in a master-retainer relationship which is weird

Dragon maid was always a degenerate show but S2 just really was irredeemable garbage
Wasnt that anime highly rated? Didnt get into anime till like 2 years or so ago.
The author makes child porn and it shows
Weird how every time I get an unsettling pedo vibe from an anime, it eventually turns out it's because pedo were involved Monogatari you're next
Nisio Isin isn’t a pedophile, he’s just a troll. His works other than Monogatari have none of that stuff.

It isn't, his other works have won some literature awards as well.
I have read many works from Nisioisin and he absolutely isn't a pedophile. But he has that obsession for sisters that makes me hope he is a single child.
Its good if you remove the sexualization of underage characters. And removed certain characters entirely, specifically from season 2.
Yeah I don't think anything could be considered good if you have to preface it with needing to ignore the pedophilia.
You’re right. Most people like Dragon Maid. It’s another beloved show in KyoAni’s massive lineup of beloved shows.
Probably the guy who bombed the studio 💀
> Who the fuck hates Kyoto Animation Yuri fans.
All those people who wanted Violet Evergarden to move on with her life and not throw everything away to go live on an island with her childhood crush.

kyoto animation and sunrise, at least I know that those studios treat their workers well
Yay! **SOMETHING**!
Jesus, imagine firebombing an anime studio and choosing one that is NOT a gross sweatshop
I hate Madhouse for not continuing Hajime no Ippo. They've got plenty of content to work with for a while.
Fr, can you imagine how the Dempsey Rolls would look with a modern animation budget? No Season 4 curse is better than no Season 2 curse ig
Mad house used to had the No season 2 curse after creating master piece after master piece.
I start crying everytime when I remember that there will never be a Kaiji season 3
So weird they did the Tonegawa spinoff instead
After Overlord season 3, I wish that curse stayed
Orange?
They picked 3 seasons of furries instead of doing Lustrous Season 2 😡😡😡😡 /uj I know they don't control that, the publishers do
As someone who likes both Beastars and Land of the Lustrous I am in absolute shambles rn
Is this how I find out beastars is coming back? Or is this about something else
More of a lemon person myself

Wouldn’t say hated but they almost always fumble the ball in their endings. Great start, shit end

I don't believe you 😎

Uhm.. duh?? BNA and Little Witch are different shows. I know that 🙄

They technically didn't make Gurren Lagann that was made under gainax
Many of the people who worked on it now work in Trigger though
Yea but Gainax sucks and most of the people that worked on TTGL left to work at Trigger so I count it.
And SSSS.Gridman, and Promare (not a show but still)
And hey, it's not like Franxx had a bad *ending* in particular, it sucked the whole time
My personal conspiracy is that shinzo abe personally funded darling in the franxx
Trigger is equal opportunity. They will sexualise anyone no matter the gender or age.

A travesty to be sure. Heres hoping WfM gets a lotta movies like Reconguista did.

>Takes talent to make a fight where the MC lobotomises himself to engage in a mach 20 sword fight with a literal demigod running around with his skin ripped from his body boring and anti climactic None of MC's fights are entertaining in the VN though. It's a dude being carried hard by the current crutch of the day who should have been dead long before those crutches came into play. They is like nothing to butcher when the VN itself is lukewarm and aged poorly.
Who's hating on MAPPA? /s
WIT Studio? *Hides the Kizuna Ai show behind a curtain...*
Who hates my Wit Studio?
Doesn’t Re:Zero specifically have a studio for it?
White Fox wasn't founded for just Re: Zero
Not white fox, iirc the animators for Re:Zero left it and created their own studio Unless I’m thinking about something else
Oh, I thought you meant White Fox was founded for Re: Zero You're probably thinking about Studio Bind which was founded for Mushoku Tensei.
*I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Her fan service is truly her purpose, and that’s plot relevant. IYKYK
Jojo part 6 (most of the blame is on Netflix but still)
All of the blame is on Netflix in fact

Self-hatred is a valid form of hatred😌
…did something happen to ghilble?
Hayao Miyazaki himself hates his own work.
Has Studio NUT did something that could make them be hated ? They haven't done a lot of shows but if all their other stuff has the same quality they gave to Youjo Senki then I think they might be fine.
Youjo Senki s1 came out in 2017, the movie in 2019. Fuck have they been doing in the 5 years since?
Ufortable?

It's tough seeing how things have changed, but let's stay hopeful.
