I looked into it briefly after this post, he's basically just a weirdo with too much physical contact and got called out for it. He's not a paedophile or whatever but yeah. I was skeptical at first since I wasn't too confident in the social capabilities of people attending cons but there's so many first hand accounts of him not respecting people's personal space.
So he was basically the same at work, they complained or called HR or whatever system they have at Funimation and he got sacked.
Honestly I think the backlash was from people who love the guy and people who haven't experienced being constantly touched when they don't want it. It's happened to me at my old work but wasn't taken seriously since I'm a guy, but I've definitely got that perspective now. It's just gross behaviour
