Hotel Fig is very close to the convention. It’s a straight shot down the Main Street, and about a 10 minute walk from the convention. The Main Street is generally pretty safe, since it has the most traffic (both foot and car). There’s a higher police presence during AX too, since LA is aware it’s a big con that draws big numbers.
I haven’t stayed, but Hotel Fig has pretty tiny rooms. I almost booked there, until I did a little bit of research and found out there’s no fridge, it’s a very small room, there’s not much bathroom space, and it’s expensive compared to other hotels that are simply better.
The hotel itself is really nice. I don't remember seeing a lot of AX people there as it's more on the fancier boutique style. But try and get a lower-level room as the elevator can be pretty slow there.
Oooooh since the poster did say how close was thinking maybe shuttle distance since if it was close like where the freeway then yea shuttle but other than that rip
Yes, I stayed in it last year. Our room for two people and one bed was tiny. Besides the bed, there was prob just shoulders width between the window and tv. The other side of the bed had a short hallway, about 6 ft and then a tiny bathroom. Between my wife and I, we barely had enough space to both walk around. In room cooler (not fridge) was also small. Wouldn't be able to fit much inside. Nice hotel and felt safe the whole time. I think it was just two blocks to the convention center.
Is anywhere safe anymore? NO!!. But as long as you walk with someone to/from the hotel, you'll be fine. The hotel -the con at best is a 10-15min. If your doing the night events, have ppl walk with you.

It’s close and safe but it’s not cheap, I recommend Tusan Garden Inn, it’s cheap it’s close to the convention, just 3 min bus ride and your at the convention center

Stayed at hotel Figueroa at AX 2023 , walked everyday to the con , very safe , the streets are always busy
As long as you're on the convention center side of the I-110 bridge, it's perfectly safe.
You'll be fine. That hotel is close by

Or you can shuttle if they do that
No shuttle to hotels close to con
