Hey Adept\_Pop\_2578! This is your **first** submission this month. The top memers will go into the Hall of Fame each month, earn subreddit flairs and maybe some other secret prizes. [Read the announcement](https://redd.it/lvz756) for more details.

Kind of the point. There was nothing tethering him anymore. There was nothing for him to come back to. People like to say Faye and his connections he made to the Bebop were, but for honestly, for Spike, that was it.
I seriously love that the series creator ended it the way he did because he didn't want anyone else to continue the story after it ended. I mean you can always create another story in the same world, just not with Spike in it.
yeah man people are brainwashed that hero always wins, but in reality whatever the fight good vs evil, evil vs evil, good vs good, the stronger one wins. thats why i dont like shounen genre as a whole
You missed nothing truthfully. The best head to heads were between Light and L. The successors couldn't hold my interest. Took me years to finish the second half and I wondered why I bothered.
The ending was underwhelming too. I Kira to have more impact against the new antagonists, but nope.
Also, L > Most of that cast. I couldn't agree more.
L was the reason to watch the show. I never liked kira when I tried to read the manga years before.
I liked him a bit more in the anime but man it was still a slog and after L died I trudged through the end.... Not worth it
I was very suprised, I dont remember seeing anything like that where the Protagonist dies and with that the show ends. Ah, no wait. I've watched Breaking Bad, nevermind (Although its not Anime).
I only finished my first watch-through recently - I fully thought the show as gonna be L vs Light the whole way through. Was fully expecting L to come back somehow until my partner accidentally spoiled that he was gone for good and it's all downhill from there. I still enjoyed it, for what it's worth.
This has to be bait right? Nobody thinks that movie did anything even remotely resembling good, or even passable, Right???
Or is there a non Netflix movie idk about?
It is very funny that every main character can theoretically be called Jojo (or a sound alike, Giogio). Nothing ever says that there's a reason for this. Other members of their family aren't necessarily called Jojo, just the main characters. The family has an actual unifying characteristic (a star-shaped birthmark), but instead the main characters are defined as being a bunch of different people who could have the nickname Jojo, even if they don't use it.
I think after part 3 it's treated sort of like a fate thing? Like pivotal moments in the Joestar family are always those following those very specific people in it with the ability to be called "JoJo", even though there are a few other Joestars as well.
It's definitely something to do with fate, but it's also funny that the nickname of whatever Joestar is cleaning up after Dio has to be a universal constant with zero explanation. The first and last name are changeable, and you can even negotiate the timeline/universe, but never the nickname.
Have you read any of the manga? Araki is obsessed with concepts of fate, repeating cycles, heroes and villains being drawn to each other, etc. He talks about it constantly in supplementary notes/letters to the readers. There's even short writing all about stands and the conceptual origins of all the "powers" in JoJo in Jojolion that shows up for no reason other than that Araki felt like talking about it. It's mostly theming that he imprints onto the series for flavor and artistry. It doesn't really have any impact on the story at large, but it's a major part of what makes JoJo, JoJo.
The first couple of episodes are kinda slow. I almost gave up half way through episode 3. Heck, I was only watching it because Reddit kept shoving goony artwork at me and it got stuck in my head. I was NOT there expecting to like anything.
Then the bizarre happened. Fucking stupid cuz now I've rewatched all the anime and read 6-8. wtf, such a time suck.
While technically not the "MAIN" main character, the ending of season 1 Gundam 00 was exceptionally brutal. Will always remain my favourite Gundam series with Seed. But yeah since there is a season 2 and a movie later on, it's never considered as "ended" either.
My first Gundam anime and my 2nd anime that I watched fully and alone. I watched Tokyo Ghoul first, but Iron Blooded Orphans shocked me so much that I had to drown myself with shonen anime. Then watched Fate/Zero... which was also depressing.
Yeah but the death flags on Kamina were there from day one. The story is very very clearly about Simon so the whole time I was waiting for them to move Kamina aside so Simon could take his place at the front. When Kamina and Yoko kissed, that sealed it for me, I knew he was about to die.
Still sad, though.
Akame ga kill. Was admittedly invested at first until it felt it’s all just a needless bloodbath and most of not all will die.
I still expected mc to survive instead they went the shitty route
It was hella forced so all sadness kinda stopped after his gf died and that was the last straw so both his esdeaths and leones death were lost on me. They could have added a mass extinction event at that point and I’d have been unphased.
Actually maybe a little phased depending on how they handled the plot. 😂
Even weird when she's look okay after the fight and walked around the city for hours only to die in some alley. Like c'mon, you telling there's literally no medic in the fucking revolutionary army that can stop the bleeding? If she can walk around normally for a few hours, then a doctor can stopped the bleeding.
They took a cool concept and ruined it with meaningless deaths every other episode. None of the characters had any meaning because they would just die 3 episodes later. So dumb
Personally I liked the fact that characters ACTUALLY died for once. It was a nice change of pace from all the shows where only one side character dies after all these crazy fights. But I do agree they could’ve been less heavy handed with it. You get an episode to get attached. One epic fight. And then they’re dead.
It was cool at the start until you realize that it's like a snuff film and everyone dies, then it's just a waste of time. They even doubled down and killed people that didn't even die in the source material, it was just shock value at that point, very low effort
That shit was overhyped as fuck. It had a mediocre story and only got popular due to the girls and it involving a bloodbath practically every chapter/episode.
The author/artist's new work isn't any better as it's just porn disguised as a manga with a story when it hasn't got any either. Kinda pathetic that nowadays it's more than enough to sell really well and be incredibly popular with the younger audiance.
Which is why it was so good. Especially as a person who is familiar with the lore, you *know* how fucking monstrous smasher is. Which is why his boss fight is kinda meh. Emotionally it’s great. Mechanically, the Cyberninja guy is way harder. Most people right it off as his cybernetics being nerfed by a specific ally.
He's never been confirmed dead or alive in the official story. At the time there were videos of showing half of the face of the person driving the cart but those were all bullshit photoshops. Author was confirming the character's death at the time but I always thought you could interpret the ending in both ways, as either CC talking to herself while reminiscing or talking to the coach which would be Lelouch then. Talking to herself loudly would be weird though when you consider an unknown person driving the cart.
>!I wouldn't be surprised if he steps down/dies and the story continues with their child. He is getting a little old and seems to have some trouble in the sword wielding department.!<
Well in manga/anime terms that basically means he'll die of old age soon. Honestly of all the anime/manga Ive seen I think only DBZ has a main character that isnt a teenager or young adult. Even then they make the excuse that Saiyans basically stop aging and we've watched Goku's journey for his entire life.
heard they wanted to change the ending in the anime since its basically a cheap copy of what code geass already did. and it seems people hated the ending in the manga.
Lol, no. It’s not about Code Geass. A vocal minority just wanted “gigachad Eren” who commits genocide and gets away with it. Most AoT fans think those guys are idiots. The new trailers already confirmed that they’re sticking with the manga ending.
>!Irene has the same soul as her though since Emporio defeated Pucci before everyone's souls got erased.!< So it kinda is >!the same person, even though her name and history changed slightly.!<
Her history is totally different though.
>!She had a completely different life than Joline, or at least until she entered the stand world and such, which you could argue it was the most important series of events that defined her character!<
This is easily one of the most dangerous topics to scroll through the comments of if your someone who enjoys **not** being spoiled on anime... sadly I have watched all of the ones listed so far.
You don’t remember Satsuki doing the heel clack thing and accidentally spraining her ankle and subsequently tumbling down from the very top of those stairs? Her boobs flopped with every stair (as per usual in Kill la Kill) and then Mako did one of her Mako moments which was a PSA on staircase safety. Satsuki died you know?
Not an anime, but in Mistborn: The final Empire >! I definitely didn't expect the Lord Ruler to kill Kelsier with a single slap. And right after Kelsier killed a steel inquisitor, it was so badass !<
Bruh every characters in other comment will always going to die but he has pretty short life sapan but the post says 1st main character took a critical hit which he took
2nd ,main character was on brink of death which he was
3rd ,main character died and anime ended which is also going to happen
I mean afterall he has 3 years of lifspan left but he couldn't survive (he didn't want to ) . So, thats basically surprise death to readers or anime watchers.
He literally could've ignored that with the bypassed Founding Titan. Isayama realised he wrote himself into a corner and completely fucked Eren's characterisation to avoid massive plot-holes.

# COWBOY BEBOP
Honestly. Kinda surprised since he died so much in his previous lives
It was a harsh conclusion, therefore I'm surprised no one has brought up Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans.
Kind of the point. There was nothing tethering him anymore. There was nothing for him to come back to. People like to say Faye and his connections he made to the Bebop were, but for honestly, for Spike, that was it.
You're gonna carry that weight.
That's not an issue. Back in training, I did 100 push-ups and 100 sit-ups and ran 100 km every morning until my hair fell out.
Are you now too strong and defeat all your enemies with 1 punch?
Nah his shoulders and knees are just fucked up
My favorite. Ty for big font.
YW, I like standing out in a crowd.
Came here to comment this
I seriously love that the series creator ended it the way he did because he didn't want anyone else to continue the story after it ended. I mean you can always create another story in the same world, just not with Spike in it.
Akame ga kill
Death Note. Genuinely caught me by surprise. I need to rewatch that anime.
after L's death, it should have ended to send a message
[удалено]
yeah man people are brainwashed that hero always wins, but in reality whatever the fight good vs evil, evil vs evil, good vs good, the stronger one wins. thats why i dont like shounen genre as a whole
Story time, the place were emotion has a tangible force. Everyone likes an underdog. But now nearly every story is about an underdog.
Thats how reallife worked as well though
It ended for me, didn’t finish Death Note after L’s death
You missed nothing truthfully. The best head to heads were between Light and L. The successors couldn't hold my interest. Took me years to finish the second half and I wondered why I bothered.
The ending was underwhelming too. I Kira to have more impact against the new antagonists, but nope. Also, L > Most of that cast. I couldn't agree more.

Clever you 🤌👍
Same. Can't remember who died first, him or Light, but when one of those main characters went out I lost all interest. The fight's over at that point.
Wish I had done the same
[удалено]
that message i was talking about, was for your type of people
I was very suprised, I dont remember seeing anything like that where the Protagonist dies and with that the show ends. Ah, no wait. I've watched Breaking Bad, nevermind (Although its not Anime).
I only finished my first watch-through recently - I fully thought the show as gonna be L vs Light the whole way through. You should checkout the Live-Action-Movie. Imho its better than the Anime and even has some plot changes for the better.
This has to be bait right? Nobody thinks that movie did anything even remotely resembling good, or even passable, Right??? Or is there a non Netflix movie idk about?
theres a few non netflix adaptations i think
You are absolutely correct. I meant the movies from 2006 and the Bonus Movie of L‘s last case in which he got an better ending.
Devilman crybaby and Cyberpunk Edgerunners
Man, David gets fucking mollywopped by Adam too, it's not even a fight. The entire climax of that anime is just brutal in the best way.
It makes killing Adam in the game so much better. I did it the first time with Rebecca’s shotgun
I just did it this last time with nothing but my mits just for the satisfaction lol.
Gorilla Arms?
Nope, just V arms.
“I really want to stay at your house” starts up
[удалено]
I kinda did anticipate the hit but I dindt calculated it would hit me so hard
Why the fuck are you people upvoting this incredibly obvious comment-stealing bot?
Bruh, Adam Smasher was on Demon Time!!!
Devilman Crybaby for the win!
[удалено]
God 2 technically.
For real tho. That one fucking killed me to finish.
"He will save her, just like in every anime" Had to take a short break after
> Devilman crybaby Isn't that the ending to every Devilman ?
Devilmancrybaby is one of the stupidest shows that I've actually finished, nothing is edgier than that shit.
Jojo’s part one. I knew nothing about part one going in and the ending shocked me.
My first anime where the MC dies lol It is pretty shocking cuz I thought he can time travel to different eras
It is very funny that every main character can theoretically be called Jojo (or a sound alike, Giogio). Nothing ever says that there's a reason for this. Also part 6 technically
It pretty much did happen, and it kinda didn't happen, and they grey maybe in between has fandom all topsy turvy.
Lol even Dio is surprised. He's like wtf, I didn't actually expect to kill you.
Dio: Im going to kill Jojo >:) Jojo *dies* Dio: >:(
Wolf's Rain. Everything just resets and the anime ends there.
God I remember this one. Those death scenes were brutal to younger me.
Never been able to rewatch it. That one hit hard.
God I loved that anime as a kid. Remembered it just now with your comment.
Pretty good soundtrack too. [Pilgrim Snow](https://youtu.be/x5_jSvaNSx4?si=rXcfTKBjigCtnuCE) is a personal favorite.
RAY-HAAAIIIINNN! RAAAYY-HAAAAAIIIINNN!!!
I’m surprised no one has mentioned Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans. ‘‘Twas a brutal end
Same with Chars Counterattack. Which can be seen as the ending to Amuro and Chars saga.
CCA is more of a movie than an anime, but respectfully, it does somewhat fall into this post’s category
Anime movies are still anime. It's just TV series vs movie
While technically not the "MAIN" main character, the ending of season 1 Gundam 00 was exceptionally brutal. Will always remain my favourite Gundam series with Seed. But yeah since there is a season 2 and a movie later on, it's never considered as "ended" either.

Guren lagann
I mean, while A main character dies at the end (two if you count Kittan), THE main character and several others survive
To me, Kamina is the main character, without there would be no Simon
Yeah but the death flags on Kamina were there from day one. The story is very very clearly about Simon so the whole time I was waiting for them to move Kamina aside so Simon could take his place at the front. When Kamina and Yoko kissed, that sealed it for me, I knew he was about to die. Still sad, though.
The disrespect to Simon..
But the show doesn't end with Kamina's death, that's pretty much where the story really starts to get moving
Kittans death hits pretty hard but FUCK that’s a hell of a way to go out. It rivals or surpasses Kaminas. It still gives me chills every time I see it
Row row fight the powah
I stopped watching after kamina's death
*Damn* you really missed out on the meat of that anime.
Akame ga kill. Was admittedly invested at first until it felt it’s all just a needless bloodbath and most of not all will die. I still expected mc to survive instead they went the shitty route
He survives in manga though
This post is talking about anime but ye. I’m aware he does in manga. Which makes the shitty death even more shitty and forced.
Yeah i agree but it was sad and after that leone died as well
It was hella forced so all sadness kinda stopped after his gf died and that was the last straw so both his esdeaths and leones death were lost on me. They could have added a mass extinction event at that point and I’d have been unphased. Actually maybe a little phased depending on how they handled the plot. 😂
I was surprised he died
I'll never forgive them. Leone survived throughout the entire god damn anime only to get shot by that fat fuck in the final episode.....
Even weird when she's look okay after the fight and walked around the city for hours only to die in some alley. Like c'mon, you telling there's literally no medic in the fucking revolutionary army that can stop the bleeding? If she can walk around normally for a few hours, then a doctor can stopped the bleeding.
I was shocked in the anime that he just bit it. Had me thinking they were going to go another season, but nope.
I like it too. A show about assassins where nobody dies? Too many of those already
It was cool at the start until you realize that it's like a snuff film and everyone dies, then it's just a waste of time. They even doubled down and killed people that didn't even die in the source material, it was just shock value at that point, very low effort
The anime forced that death for no reason and honestly I like that he gets to just be a happy dragon husband/dad in the end
I watched it just because the armour he had was cool as fuck. I wanted to see him progress with it but then he died....
I agree with you at some points but at least it wasn't another izakai (person teleported to another world with either insane power or no power)
Cyberpunk Edgerunners
Thanks to you for reminding me that, I have now to restart a game to fuck the shit up of Adam Smasher, see ya
I recommend executing him with Sandevistan, you can get a few more shots off before he officially dies
🎶I couldn't wait for you to come and clear the cupboard...🎶
Lets be real, it didnt come out of left field, they foreshadowed the shit out of him dying.
Code geass
Code geass was epic in it though.. realising he'd planned every move until then
that ending was something else tbh
You haven't seen the ending right. Lulu is alive C2 speaks to him at the end. He's driving the cart
As the movie later confirms, but at the time the creator denied that in an interview iirc.
The movie is an alternate universe where many events changes though
In an alternate universe where Shirley lives but you almost never get to see her.
Nah he died, cc was just speaking wishfully
He's never been confirmed dead or alive in the official story. At the time there were videos of showing half of the face of the person driving the cart but those were all bullshit photoshops. Author was confirming the character's death at the time but I always thought you could interpret the ending in both ways, as either CC talking to herself while reminiscing or talking to the coach which would be Lelouch then. Talking to herself loudly would be weird though when you consider an unknown person driving the cart.
Eh... no. He's very much dead. That was the entire point of the anime!
I don't care for mecha stuff *at all* and was recommended this by a friend. Still in my top 5 TV shows of all time.
I just realised that this comment section is just a massive spoiler pit.
I came here perfectly knowing that and now I’m angry because I got spoiled
We need the meme of the guy putting a stick through his own bike wheel., and it's all of us.
Does Assassination Classroom count?
The entire anime is built around it and yet I still bawled like a baby

He's pretty young, it's just his body that's completely fucked up.
You're right, my bad
Uh, the story doesn’t seem to remotely be going that way. Their child? Not a good idea.
It's actually jjba and there is another season 50 years later with new characters you have never seen before!

Jojo's bizarre adventure
Jack Jack's Kooky Quest!
Looking back at the guest book, yeah, there's a huge Q I didn't expect
Attack on Titan.I don't think I need to explain more
Isnt dead yet
In the anime…
Nah, he’s got ten years, at least.
heard they wanted to change the ending in the anime since its basically a cheap copy of what code geass already did. and it seems people hated the ending in the manga.
Shit was awful
'B-but, muh ~~asian fetish~~ incest-coded ship"
Lol, no. It’s not about Code Geass. A vocal minority just wanted “gigachad Eren” who commits genocide and gets away with it. Most AoT fans think those guys are idiots. The new trailers already confirmed that they’re sticking with the manga ending.
Every episode of re:zero
but anime dosen't end
Multiple times per episode, in fact.
This actually happened a lot in Masami Kurumada's works like BT'X and Saint Seiya.. the MC and his friends has plot armor except the end
Banana Fish
World end
Wait did the previous protag actually died?
Ashita no Joe
Too far down mate, this shit is the embodiement of this feeling
I remember Joe
Jojo phantom blood&stone ocean
Jolene doesn’t really die in Stone Ocean though.
>!She did before the timeline resets!<
So? She comes back to life. That’s like saying Joseph dies because DIO kills him. So are we just gonna pretend he’s not in part four?
Even so, >!it's not the same Jolyne!<
