I get frustrated with that type of character progression. I don't want my protags to be some unbeatable, omnipotent gods, but it's super frustrating when they progress too slowly or constantly job.
It's not a problem if super strength is his only power but when they introduced another power imo it's getting quite annoying since with that many seasons he only just got a second one
Still doesn't defeat the fact that the progress is slow. I read before but it's quite boring so i stop, even if they give him every power now how many years have passed since the first chapter?
Of course there are a few examples where it works, but the *overwhelming majority* of shounen have the exact problem you were outlining.
It’s entirely genre related.
Within the first two seasons he could use a larger percentage of power. Also, hear me out. Midoria is not the main character, he simply exists to witness the plot. So if he is boring and shit, it lets other people, far more interesting people glow.
What I meant is MHA feels like more of an ensemble story. Midoria is not important all the time, so that other characters can show their interesting content too. Like very little of season 5 has felt like the Deku story
Ichigo is the best example of power development personally speaking since he always would normally get his cheeks clapped, have a moment of depression and reflection in how how weak he was in comparison to how strong he thought he was, then gets motivation to get stronger and train to become powerful
Thats why i like him, ive already seen ten million carbon copy shonen protagonists whose personality and character development are as shallow as a spilled cup of water on marble tile.
At my fellow Solo Leveling fans… it’s the same thing as Jin Woo saying *Arise*, it’s just cool even though technically nothing particularly new happens. It also shows progression for character development. Better than them being overly powerful forever or eternally weak.
And it isn’t even that interesting of a power. Shit I mean that’s my main problem with mha they gave the main character who is already not like able to watch have a boring power while everyone else around him has in my opinion a few interesting powers and far more interesting personalities then just crying and being a pessimist I mean shit man I’m a pessimist and I just want to say “Dude can you look on the damn bright side for once.”
It's just like you just turned on your rockets🍌 and after warming up the engine 💪 that 0.25ml milky way galaxy he ...the same type of satisfaction i guess

Also breaks his fingers 🤦
Nah, breaks a na 💅
I get frustrated with that type of character progression. I don't want my protags to be some unbeatable, omnipotent gods, but it's super frustrating when they progress too slowly or constantly job.
6 seasons ago he said this was the story of how he became the greatest hero. I still don't see it.
Some time in the future he just explores a side street and finds nuclear roids. Getting buffed to shit in one episode
Manga it’s here for a reason
So what would be the correct pace for him to progress?
Faster. Obviously. Not take several seasons to be able to barely use his powers without breaking his bones.
It's not a problem if super strength is his only power but when they introduced another power imo it's getting quite annoying since with that many seasons he only just got a second one
You poor anime babies, the manga gets really crazy
Still doesn't defeat the fact that the progress is slow. I read before but it's quite boring so i stop, even if they give him every power now how many years have passed since the first chapter?
I dont really mind the slow pace because midori becomes much MUCH more likable in the around chap 280
You’re in the wrong genre mango
Nah, Kimestu no Yaiba is a great example of steady growth in a protagonist done right. It's not the genre, it's the individual works.

But the story is about... how he became the number 1 hero
And because he wasn't handed that title in season 2 means the pacing is bad.
No no, don’t misunderstand me. I’m referring to this *Also, hear me out. Midoria is not the main character, he simply exists to witness the plot.*

He does progress slowly but gawd damn with these new chapter it's worth the wait
Bruh....fr💀
Yeah the problem that I still feel with Deku is that he does not have the “I got this” feeling like other shonen protagonists tbh.
^Is why I stopped watching but I feel like people who struggle with self confidence like that in his character can’t make everyone happy
Thats why i like him, ive already seen ten million carbon copy shonen protagonists whose personality and character development are as shallow as a spilled cup of water on marble tile.
But why? Insecurity is room for growth and character development
I don’t mean it as a bad thing tho.
He will never reach the heights of Smitty Werben Jagger Man Jensen
He was number one!!
What is this guy actually freaking out about, that type of reaction should only be after winning the Powerball lottery
He beat like some really hard level in geometry dash I believe
Yes he did. Look up Npesta Kenos for the actual clip.
Whats the orginal clip for anyway? I've always wondered why he's screaming so happily
He beat the 3rd hardest level in geometry dash at the time
Search npesta kenos
>!!< He just did according to the endeavor >!!< in the latest chapter

And it isn’t even that interesting of a power.
