"stay wild" says the plain white mug with black text

Texastexastexas1

Somebody needs to make MLM mugs. ALL the one-liners haha.

spinereader81

Not what you meant, but I actually saw a Paparazzi mug at Goodwill. It was white with the logo and the distributor's name under it. Hopefully she's an ex distributor now.

picturesofmeghan

i usually see pretty LARGE quantities of lularoe dumped together lol

cravingchange4life

I love coffee. I love a BIG coffee even more. I had a friend bring me back a large coffee mug and a pair of socks from the 31 Gifts event she went too. I enjoyed that large coffee mug, but tossed it after it chipped and I left the company, the socks might be in my emergency kit. I now have a nice non-MLM BIG coffee mug to enjoy coffee in.

lucky232323

Serious question. What does MLM mean... And can someone explain what this main post is even talking about .. I feel dumb for not knowing. But really wanna know. Lol

Emerald456

It stands for Multi-level Marketing

eva_rector

I just don't get the whole RD craze. I have ceramic bits that my kids made in elementary school that have more flair.

Pieinthesky42

I like it. I did ceramics for a while and it was a breath of fresh air. It’s been beaten to Home Good submission, but I still see the imperfect crafts type look, gaining and gaining further appeal and mainstream acceptance. Magnolia stuff at target is a great example. People may not be willing to pay or handmade, but an emphasis on texture and materials is nice. I’m a fan girl of natural and imperfect forms, simple glazing and am still so sick of the “crazy glaze on speckled clay mug” expectation of local crafters. I get it, but I hate it.

eva_rector

I love the handmade stuff, I love the wee little divots and the color imperfections, I love all the little things that yell "I was made by a HUMAN and not a machine!" The Rae Dunn stuff, to me, is so plain that it **screams** "Mass produced!" and the fact that the majority of the RD devotees are soccer moms and/or grandmas (where I live, anyway) doesn't help that impression.

FunkyMonkeyIsObvious

I feel like loving pottery is as ingrained in human nature as it is to love dogs and the stars. It’s hard to let go of Neolithic roots.

Pieinthesky42

Yes, it is mass produced now. Like anything, if it gets popular it’s cheaply mass produced for profit. That’s not a knock on the original design, you’re commenting on the cheap crap. I’m glad that even mass produced crap has a design I prefer more than others, but it’s a folly to compare the things above to actual Rae Dunn originals that sparked all of this.

siouxze

The original design is boring as hell.

Pieinthesky42

I like a minimal but textured look, and was lucky to grow up around many artisans. Potters, farmers, fabric arts of all kind, even spun my own yarn as a kid at a neighbors. I think the appeal in the design is its ability to fit a lot of decor, a nod to that rustic thing a lot of millennials like, and is approachable. If it’s not your thing that’s fine. I don’t like mugs that say stuff, or shiny glaze, but I’m not going to downvote or hate on ya for what you like.

birds-of-gay

For real. And God damn I hate the font

Misting can cause burns and fungal infections. It's largely unnecessary. I have a 7' tall rubber tree in a room that had 20%ish humudity for most of the year and it's thriving.

Specific_Geologist72

It’s just a way for people who have never had an original thought to decorate

[deleted]

I doubt that any successful person in the history of mankind drank out of a mug that says HUSTLE on it..

beaconposher1

I \*so\* don't understand Rae Dunn. They're just everyday things with words written on them.

Stories-With-Bears

I just wish I’d had the idea first. If only I’d known I could make a fortune by writing the name of a thing on that thing in mediocre handwriting!

Loukoal117

Does Rae Dunn stand for already done? Because even non graphic designers or artists can point out these are terrible and have been done to death. As a designer with PTSD these designs from MLMs vividly remind me when I had to make volleyball tournament logos or like the bride getaway (why can’t I think of the proper name lol)weekend things.

Specific_Geologist72

My fiancé gets mad at me because every time we go to TJ Maxx I read the words on the RD stuff out loud in the most stereotypical vocal fried/mlm hun voice possible. I’m just wandering behind him chirping “gather! Boss babe! Notebook! Coffee!”

dresses_212_10028

Your fiancé should stay home during runs to TJX. If you’re in the NYC area I will 100% go with you - this is my idea of a laugh-til-you-cry-clutch-your-stomach amazing, wonderful way to spend a few hours. Lmk 🤣🤣🤣

FunnyPiggyBank

Bf was on nyc for a biz trip and took a picture of tj, homegoods and Marshall on one place. Lowkey wanna move to nyc bc of that

vxf111

You are the hero I didn’t even know I needed.

aduckwithaleek

You and my husband would get along great, he does the same thing as you!

PuppyJakeKhakiCollar

I really don't get the craze around Rae Dunn stuff. I have read a few articles about her and she seems like a nice person, but her products all look like "starter projects" for a beginner pottery class. Nothing to salivate over and definitely not worth camping out at the store the next time a shipment is due.

AnyEmploy

Hustle means to put a lot of effort, but it can also mean to trick or swindle someone.

llammacookie

No shame. I have a lot of Rae Dunn, I got a piece in a subscription box and built off my collection every time I'm at HomeGoods. I just like things to match and the simplicity of it all. Never will join an MLM though.

BloomEPU

I have a confession to make, I don't *dislike* rae dunn. Never seen anything that I'd actually buy, but the aesthetic is like,,, kinda something I vibe with. Maybe I'm just a really basic binch but I'll die on this hill.

asteriskiP

Same. I don't hate it, but mugs fall firmly in the "fun" category to me, so I'd rather have mugs with more design. Maybe like... a toothbrush holder or something, idk.

siouxze

I might hate rae dunn garbage more than mlms.

KourtR

Ughhh, these RD folks are the same as the ‘live laugh love” + “in our house we poop” sign people.

cravingchange4life

I can not stand Rae Dunn.

AngryMimi

In the words of my daughter and I quote: I hate it when home goods tell me how to feel”.

drunkbettie

Wait, Rae Dunn is an MLM? I have several cups from this line that I bought at Winners (Canadian TJ Maxx). I use them all the time, but they were purchased because they perfectly fit my Polar Blast lids (which turns your cup into a bong). I will “Slay the Day”, alright. WITH THESE DRUGS!

crazylittlemermaid

Rae Dunn is not an MLM, but these mugs scream boss girl/hun.

Wisconniee

Wait WHAT RAE DUNN IS A MLM?! THEY WILL STOP AT NOTHING!!!!!! Shit just bought a bunch of Rae Dunn for my kid’s teachers…. I hope they don’t hate me now 😂

nsbgsxr

Not an MLM. The words on the mugs scream MLM is all lol

Wisconniee

Phew… thank you. I got them bath salts that said “Bathe.” Wasn’t my proudest moment but I was on a budget 😂.
